Like promised Jungkook came to visit in the morning. At their usual time, around nine. He smiled at the merman that came out of the water a little and looked at him. "goodmorning my love"

"Morning dear Kookie," Taehyung replied with a big smile.

"sooo, whats up"

"nothing. much, buttt.... I uhh would like to go on a walk with you.'' Taehyung asked, he felt nervous to ask it. It was daytime. Jungkook probably didn't want to go, he knows that vampires hate the bright sun.

"really?! I'd love to"

"Shall I bring you some towels and clothes?"

"yes please" Taehyung smiled and started pulling himself out of the water onto the sand. "exciting!"

After a short wait Jungkook returned outside carrying a pile of things. He placed them on the bench next to his house and approached the merman on the sand with a big towel.

"Here you go, to dry yourself off," Jungkook said.

"c-can you help me dry?" Taehyung asked nervously. He tried so hard to keep his cool But he failed. He doesn't know how Jungkook does it.

"of course" Jungkook smiled and began to carefully dry the merman's tail and body.

Obviously Taehyung was fully capable of drying himself. He just.... wanted the vampire to do it.... And he was enjoying it.

"Are you dry enough?" just when Jungkook asked that he saw the scales at his hip fading away. Quickly he turned around and looked away.
Behind him Taehyung shifted and stood up on his pair of legs. Shaking them a little to get some feel in them.
"There are clothes on the bench for you," Jungkook pointed blindly to his right.

"Okay, I will be quick," the merman said and went to get dressed in the clothes given to him.
Once done he tapped Jungkook on the shoulder and smiled when he turned around. "all done"

"lovely, soo...You wanted to go for a walk?" Jungkook asked and fixed the hood of his jacket so the early sun rays won't burn on his face.

"yes yes, i like seeing more of the land you live in. It's much more interesting than underwater" Taehyung said and saw Jungkook extend a hand towards him. He happily placed his hand in his and they started walking out of the garden.

"Where will you take me today?" Taehyung asked after they had been walking for a short while. The mansion was completely out of sight now, blocked by many trees that they passed.

"I am taking you to the cliffside, it has a beautiful view of the sea. It's even better at sunset" Jungkook replied with a smile. He was sure that the merman would love to see a new and impressive view, and that was the first good thing that came to his mind... A romantic spot too.

"Wow, that sounds cool, are we almost there?"

"we are, actually. It's just there in front of us. At the clearing" Jungkook pointed with his free gloved hand ahead of them where they saw the blue sky between the trees.

"woah, let's hurry then" Taehyung said and quickened the pace. Pulling Jungkook after him by the hand. He was so excited to see the sea from up here. He never thought he would actually get up here, hell he didn't even think he was ever going to walk on land again. But here he was. And that was only because Jungkook was here with him, he made him feel safe.

"not so fast!" Jungkook said and quickly grabbed the edge of his hood that was about to flip back.

Taehyung let go of the vampire's hand and walked over to the edge taking the last few steps with caution. "wow! This is higher than I thought!" he looked down curiously before turning back around to look at the raven.

"Well, it is quite high." Jungkook smiled and walked up next to the merman. Smoothly he snaked his arm around the other's waist making them stand very close together.

Immediately the white haired creature began to blush and fiddle with his fingers nervously. No matter how hard he tries he will never be able to hold back a blush. Which made him mentally scold himself for being too obvious.

"You know, I was wondering, what did you think of me when you first saw me? You were obviously scared, and i should have taken a different approach but... yea.." Jungkook said while they stared at the calm sea.

"Oh.... uh yea i was terrified. Absolutely scared for my life, I thought you were going to chase me and eat me alive. So I quickly left" Taehyung replied. thinking back at that moment,and then comparing it to them now, standing here in love. "I remember you left a letter for me, i couldn't read all of it but just enough to sort of understand what was written."

"I see... I'm sorry for scaring you. I hope you won't ever be scared of me again '' Jungkook said before he thought about it. this wasn't something he intended to say, it's not something someone usually speaks out loud. But he meant it, he would be heartbroken if taehyung were. He wants to be the merman's safe place, his lover.

"I think i won't have to. you're all i want right now" taehyung smiled and turned to face the other. gently he raised his hand up to touch Jungkook's face, feeling the cold skin. Taehyung had a body that adjusts to the surrounding temperature, but jungkooks was just always cold. "Doesn't it bother you that you don't have any body heat?"

"I don't feel it, so I have no reason to be bothered. I'm more concerned about you not liking it."

"i do not mind. that would be the least of a problem" the merman chuckled and cupped jungkook's face, squeezing it a few times before he gathered enough courage to get on his toes and give him a kiss. Not a long one, but definitely one that melted both their hearts.

"my love...." the vampire said softly and he grabbed taehyung closer. with a little smile he kissed him again. tilting their heads he moved one hand into the merman's hair. the other hand felt the shape of his body through the fabric. And... well it made him feel a type of way.

He just wanted to slip his hand under the edge and feel the actual skin, a skin he had seen was so soft and shimmered in the light, reflecting light as if it was lightly touched by glitter. A skin he wants to protect, keep it away from any harm.

He loves the owner of this body, he never thought he would find love, he never intended to. But it felt so good to be in love. He just wants this, this is his new purpose, being a lover.

"I love you Jungkook"

"I love you too Taehyung" Jungkook said and caressed the merman's cheek to his neck, a warm skin under his fingertips. This was going to be a good day.

After a comforting sit and cuddle they returned back to the mansion. Again splitting their ways. Jungkook was going back inside, taking the clothes with him. And Taehyung went back to the water.

Where he was now.

He just said goodbye to Jungkook and watched him walk away. He wasn't going to go head under before the vampire was out of sight. He felt so honored to be able to live the way he does now. But at the same time it was as if he doesnt deserve it.

Taehyung sighed and slowly moved away from the garden. And something caught his eye. On the sand part of the garden that touched the water edge, were footprints.

Footprints are not something new, there were prints all the time. Jungkook's or his own hands or bare feet. But these were different. This sole pattern was not jungkooks.

And he knows it because he had seen Jungkook's shoes. And they do not have these shapes at all.

Maybe it was left by one of those two friends, he just assumed it was and went underwater.

Meanwhile inside the house Jungkook was inside his bedroom to put away Taehyung's worn clothes. But before he added them to his wash bin he held the shirt in his hands. Staring at the fabric.

He wore this..

Jungkook couldn't fight the urge and sniffed the fabric. Smiling when he smelled Taehyung's scent, the sea mixed with a faint sweetness of the washing substance left in the shirt.

"my Merman, mine" he said and dropped the shirt into the bin and carried it downstairs to do his cleaning.

I went on vacation a few days and did not have internet to write or update here. So it took a while for me to be able to finish this and get it posted. I hope you are still enjoying the story. Not a lot of people have been seeing my books for a while now and im feeling a little discouraged sometimes thinking that people don't like my work anymore. 😭 But i appreciate you few that do, thank you 💚 i will work hard to make the story fill your expectations!
