Ladybugs Always Lead You Home

It is now morning

"Mikey! Oh my god, Mikey, come here!" I called to my friend.

"What?" I pulled him over to where I was crouched in a bush.

"Look," I pointed to the magnificent creature only feet away from us. The beautiful white horse with a sparkling horn stood by a stream, taking a drink, "Isn't it cool?" I whispered, but when I looked over, he was crying.

"It's beautiful! I knew they existed, I knew it!" He happily cried, "This is the greatest day of my life." He pulled off his glasses, cleaning the happy tears with his shirt.

"I knew you'd like it." After a few minutes, the unicorn trotted off, and Mikey and I began walking again.

"How far do you think the others are from us?"

"They can't be too far. As long as we keep following the ladybugs, we should be okay." He nodded.

"I'd rather be back here anyways, I'm sure Frank and Pete are getting along great." He said the last part sarcastically.

"Oh yeah, they're like, best friends." We both laughed, "Why do they hate each other so much, anyways?"

"Frank doesn't really like to talk about it, it's kinda embarrassing for him."

"Everything's embarrassing for him." I joked, "What even happened, did Pete beat him up or something?"

"No, we all used to be good friends with Pete and his other friend Patrick. But, Pete stole Frank's favorite tech deck back in the seventh grade, they haven't gotten along since."

"Tech deck? What's that?"

"It's a little toy skate board. They were really cool at our middle school."

"Really? That's it? That's so stupid!"

"Well I mean, it was his favorite tech deck." I looked over at him, but he had a playful smile on his face. I playfully pushed him, he pushed me back before we heard familiar voices from up ahead. Mikey and I both started running towards them.

"Why don't you just stop talking!? No one cares, bug boy!" Frank cried. Pete's face was firey red.

"I hate you! I hate you so much!" Mikey and I looked at each other, unsure what to do. Gerard and Ray stood watching as well.

"I hate you more!" Frank gave him the finger, Pete made an L with his hand and held it to his head.

"Frank? What's going on?" I spoke calmly. He looked to me.

"Princess! Oh my god!" He hugged me tight.

"Frankie, why are you yelling at him?" I looked to Pete, still red in the face.

"Oh it's no-"

"I'll gladly tell you, your dip shit boyfriend keeps stepping on the ladybugs!" My jaw dropped and I looked to Frank, he held a nervous smile.

"What the hell!?" I pushed him off of me, "You don't just do that! What did they ever do to you!? They're leading us home!"

"Baby, I-"

"Oh, don't baby me! We're done!" I began to walk away, leading the others home.

"What!? No! You can't do that! Y/n, I'm sorry! You can't go, I love you! I love you..." Gerard ran to his side to comfort him, I didn't look back, I knew that if I did, I'd take him back out of pity.

"We should probably get home." I said quietly.

"Yeah, are you gonna be okay?" Mikey asked.

"I don't know, I just wanna get home." He nodded and we kept on our journey home. The whole day everyone was silent. No one stopped to look at bugs, and no one spat insults at each other. As the sun began to set, the wall stood just a few feet away.

"We made it." Mikey whispered.

"Yeah, I guess we did." Everyone began climbing up the wall, still silent. Once we hit the ground, it took a moment for everyone to get used to the air again. Everyone crammed into Frank's car. Mikey and I sat next to each other. Without thinking, I leaned my sleepy head onto Mikey's shoulder, falling asleep almost immediately.

"Y/n, hey Y/n." My eyes fluttered open to see Mikey and lifted my head, "We're just gonna all crash at Frank's."

"Okay." We all got out of the car, making it up to Frank's apartment.

"You guys can sleep wherever, I don't care." Frank yawned, walking to his bed, and falling asleep as soon as he hit it. Everyone else looked at each other, then to the big bed. We all collectively agreed in silence that we would all share the bed. Everyone found a spot on the bed, I lay inbetween Mikey and Gerard. Happy to have saved the pretty boy beside me.

Time skip to early in the morning

I awoke, staring at the ceiling, but there was a strange weight on my body. Bringing my head up, my eyes peaked over to see Mikey had fallen asleep, with his arms around me, his sleepy face lay peacefully just above my chest. Awww...

Then, I looked to my side to find Gerard, his arms clung to my free arm. Wow, I'm like a teddy bear! I tilted my head back to see it was 7:05  why did I wake up so early??

"Mikey?" I whispered, as to not disturb the others, "Mikey?"

"Hmmmm?" He looked at me, eyes went wide as he realized, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry Y/n, I didn't mean to." He quickly jumped off me, the room was dark, but I knew he was blushing.

"It's okay, just be quiet."

"Right." he climbed off the bed, and held a hand out to help me, but I was still stuck to Gee.

"I'm stuck." He grabbed a loose pillow from the floor, pulled my arm out, and stuck the pillow in to his brothers arms. He didn't even move.

"C'mon," Mikey helped me out, and we walked to the kitchen, "Frank's rule is that whoever gets up first has to make breakfast." He shuffled through the cupboards, "Pancakes?" He spoke with a normal voice, but still kept it quiet.

"Sure, I don't think I've ever had pancakes before. But I think I've heard of them."

"Really!? Well, you're gonna love them!" He started pulling out ingredients and things. I giggled at his enthusiasm, "So, really all you have to do is add the pancake mix to the milk and stir it together, like this." He stirred the mixture until it was just a big bowl of goop, "And then, I use the measuring cup from before, to scoop, and then dump it onto the pan."

"Cool."

"You can add the chocolate chips, if you'd like." He did the first one, sprinkling them over top. I took the bag and copied what he did, "Then you flip them." I watched in awe as he flipped the pancakes perfectly.

"Woah." He smiled as I watched over his shoulder. That was when, the bedroom door opened, Pete walked out and sat at the counter. Mikey piled the pancakes onto a plate as he started pouring more into the pan.

"Morning, guys." Pete said, voice still tired.

"Good morning, here ya go." I slid him a plate of pancakes. He then poured a sticky looking dressing onto the chocolaty goodness, "What's that?"

"Syrup, you wanna try it?" Pete asked, I nodded. Mikey handed me a plate of pancakes as I sat next to Pete. I watched as the brown sticky liquid left the little opening. Closing the top once I was done, I set the bottle on the counter, and took a bite of the chocolate pancakes. The yummy flavors filled my mouth, my taste buds going nuts over the deliciousness.

"These are amazing!" I happily cried, just as Ray joined us in the kitchen.

"See, I knew you'd like them." Mikey and I exchanged smiles for a moment.

"Oh yeah, Frank wanted me to tell you," Ray began, not really talking to anyone in particular, "He won't be getting out of bed this morning, he is sick."

"Sick!? What kind of pathetic excuse is that!?" Pete asked.

"I don't know. That's what he wanted me to say." Gerard slipped out of the bedroom. He went right for the pancakes.

"I'm gonna grab some for Frank, he's not doing too well." Poor Frank, this is my fault, I created an awful mess, I need to get out of here...

"I should probably head home, I'll see you guys at school tomorrow." I began to walk out the door.

"Wait, lemme take you." Mikey stopped me, he had a warm smile I couldn't resist.

"Alright." We walked, side by side to my house, "Mikey? Am I a bad person?"

"What?"

"I mean I've just made this huge mess between you and Frank. I didn't mean too I just- I'm so stupid." My eyes watched the ground as I tried to hold back tears.

"No, you're not a bad person, you're not stupid at all. Look at me," he brought my chin up, "Frank will get over it. You guys dated for what? A week? He should be fine in a few days. And with me, well, I'm okay now. It did hurt, but I didn't die or anything." He chuckled.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks Mikey." We stood on the porch of my house for a moment, "You're a really good guy Mikey, I missed you." I leaned in and kissed his cheek, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, see ya tomorrow." I waved as I closed the door, and leaned back on it, smiling. I love him... I really do...

OwO-
Hey guys, I think the ending is fairly close for this story. Maybe the next chapter or two will be the last one. I don't really have much to add story wise. I had some other ideas for this story, but I really don't want it to drag on. I love writting about the forest so much, maybe it'll be back another day for a totally different fic??? Lemme know what you think. Don't step on ladybugs. Have an extra spectacular day~peace out cheesebags
