The final chapter

The rest of the school year went by so fast. Jungkook was happy with his friends, making many good memories with them.

"So much has happened this year, but at least our first year of college is now over," Jungkook said contently.

"Any plans for the summer?" Seokjin asked as he laid his head on his boyfriend's shoulder.

The big group of friends were currently sitting on the grass of a nearby park. Their backpacks were thrown to the side, being empty and no longer feeling heavy with all their textbooks.

"I'm going back home and visit my family," said Yoongi. "Seoul is beautiful, but I miss Daegu."

"I'm going back home too," said Minghao. "I miss it."

"I'm going to Thailand," said Yugyeom.

"Why?" Jungkook asked.

"That's where Bambam is from and he wants me to meet his family," Yugyeom explained.

"It's only fair if I met his family too," said Bambam as he smiled at his boyfriend.

"Anyone else planning to travel?" Seokjin asked.

"Nah, I'm staying here. Gonna hang out with Jaehyun and Dokyeom," said Eunwoo.

"I'm staying here too," announced Namjoon. "I'm going to get a job."

"Where are planning to get a job at?" Asked Hoseok. "Seokjin and I can maybe visit whenever we go on dates. We plan to spend as much time together as we can."

"I'm not sure yet," replied Namjoon. "I'm still trying to figure it out."

Seokjin nodded. "Tell us when you do, because if it's a job where there's food, I'm expecting free food or at least a discount."

"Why would I give you free food or a discount?" Namjoon asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"Because you're our friend, duh."

"I'll see. Jungkook, what about you?" Namjoon asked as he turned to the said male. "What are your plans?"

Jungkook shrugged. "I don't have anything in mind yet."

"If you're up for some video games, just let me know," said Eunwoo. "Because as I said, I'll be spending my break with Jaehyun and Dokyeom."

Jungkook nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."

The big group of friends spent the rest of the afternoon talking about memories they shared with one another, laughing amongst each other, and simply enjoying each other's company.

By the time the sun began to set, everyone had decided to head home. Namjoon offered to walk with Jungkook, the two of them walking comfortably together.

"So you really don't have any plans for the summer?" Namjoon asked.

Jungkook shrugged as he stopped walking to face Namjoon. "No, I just want to focus on myself for now."

Namjoon smiled. "I'm happy that you're focusing on yourself."

"I should have done that a long time ago."

"It's never too late to focus on oneself. I'm happy for you, Jungkook."

Jungkook smiled back at Namjoon. "I feel very happy when I'm with you."

"You do?" Namjoon asked surprised.

Jungkook nodded. "You've always been there for me, even before we became friends and now that we are, you make me feel happy, Namjoon. You give me so much helpful advice that I will never take for granted again."

"What about Seokjin, Hoseok, Yoongi, and the rest of our friends? Do they not make you feel happy too?"

"They do, but not as much as you do. You've made me feel the happiest."

A smile brought its way back to Namjoon's lips. He pulled Jungkook into a hug, wrapping his arms around him just as Jungkook wrapped his arms around Namjoon as well. "You talking about me making you feel happy, makes me happy."

Jungkook endearingly smiled, tightening his arms around Namjoon. The two of them stood in each other's warm embrace, basking in the comfort of being each other's arms.

When they pulled away, Namjoon raised an eyebrow upon seeing Jungkook's bright smile. "Why are you smiling so big for?"

"I just thought about something."

"What?"

"Everything began here," Jungkook gestured behind Namjoon.

Namjoon wasn't paying attention to his surroundings when he was walking. He was focused on Jungkook, but when he turned around he saw the ice cream parlor where he first met Jungkook.

"This is where we met, where you gave me advice, where you found me when I was avoiding you and the others. Every time I was here with you, I always felt a sense of comfort."

"This place is pretty special to us, isn't it?"

"It really is, which is why I think you should work here," Jungkook explained, gesturing to the now hiring sign on the window.

"Oh, they're hiring? This is perfect. Should I go apply now or wait until tomorrow?" Namjoon asked. "Actually, I'll go apply now."

Jungkook chuckled as he followed behind Namjoon. They entered the ice cream parlor where Jungkook ordered an ice cream while Namjoon filed out the paperwork excitedly.

After Namjoon was done, his paperwork was reviewed before he was approved. "I start tomorrow, can you believe it!?" Namjoon asked once they had left the ice cream shop. "Thank you for noticing the now hiring sign."

Namjoon rambled on the rest of the way to Jungkook's house. He talked about how excited he was for his job while Jungkook softly laughed at seeing how happy Namjoon looked while rambling.

Jungkook bid Namjoon goodbye before promising to visit him on his first day on the job tomorrow.

Just as promised, Jungkook visited Namjoon at the ice cream parlor the next day. It was around noon when he arrived, desperate for a cold treat after walking in the summer heat.

"Good afternoon, Jungkook," Namjoon greeted from behind the counter.

"Good afternoon, Namjoon" Jungkook greeted back as he took in Namjoon's appearance. "Nice apron."

"Thanks, I think pink suits me best, don't you agree?"

"Mhm, it really does."

"What can I get for you today?"

"Hmm, how about a cold pink treat?" Jungkook asked.

"Would you like it to be a strawberry ice cream cone or a bubble gum flavored popsicle or whatever other cold pink treats we have?" Namjoon asked.

"Surprise me."

As Namjoon prepared Jungkook's order, Jungkook took a seat in one of the booths, patiently waiting to be called up to pay and receive his order.

However, Jungkook wasn't expecting for Namjoon to take the seat across from him or place a glass bowl with two large scoops of strawberry ice cream and two spoons.

"Don't I have to pay?" Jungkook asked.

"Nah, it's on me. It's my thank you for suggesting me this job," said Namjoon.

"Are you sure? Won't you get in trouble? It's your first day on the job," Jungkook replied, unsure.

"I'm sure, besides, it's my lunch break too, so what better way than to enjoy a cold treat with you."

Jungkook nodded, still feeling unsure. The two friends took their spoons before they began to eat their ice cream together.

They were suddenly startled when they heard Namjoon's manager yell, "Namjoon did you give out free ice cream again?!"

"Again?" Jungkook asked.

"I gave some ice cream to a lady who stopped to take a break outside. She looked tired and hot from the sun," Namjoon said. "I was just trying to be nice."

Jungkook softly smiled at Namjoon's kind gesture. "You're so sweet Namjoon."

During the rest of the summer, Jungkook often visited Namjoon at the ice cream parlor. Each time he tried to pay, Namjoon would decline and give it to Jungkook for free, except for Seokjin and Hoseok.

"Why do we have to pay?" Seokjin complained. "We're your friends too."

"It's clear he has favorites," said Hoseok.

"Or, Namjoon has a crush on Jungkook," Seokjin said, a smirk growing on his face. "You like Jungkook, don't you?"

Namjoon felt his face warming up. "I...um...maybe...yes."

"Why don't you ask him out then?" Hoseok asked. "I'm pretty sure Jungkook likes you too. He always looks at you with the biggest smile, like you're his whole world."

Namjoon bit his lip, glancing over to Jungkook who was sitting two tables down from Hoseok and Seokjin. "And if he doesn't?"

"There's only one way to find out," said Seokjin as he gestured for Namjoon to go up to Jungkook.

Namjoon nervously walked over to Jungkook, taking the seat across from him. Jungkook looked up, immediately smiling, and it was then that Namjoon noticed what Hoseok was talking about.

Namjoon looked at Jungkook's eyes, watching them sparkle, just as Hoseok said. He always looks at you with the biggest smile, like you're his whole world.

"Hi Namjoon," Jungkook greeted.

"Hey Jungkook," Namjoon replied. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Are you busy tonight?"

"No, why?" Jungkook asked.

"Well, I was thinking, after my shift ends, do you want to go um...on a date with me?"

"A date?" Jungkook asked surprised.

"Yeah, a date. You don't have to say yes if you don't want to, I was just asking unless you do want to go then that'll make me very happy, not that I won't be happy if you say no-"

"Yeah, I'll go on a date with you, Namjoon," Jungkook replied before Namjoon could ramble on even more.

"Wait really?" Namjoon asked, not expecting for Jungkook to agree.

"Yeah, I'll be waiting for you to pick me up."

"Okay, great, I'll pick you up as soon as my shift is over."

Namjoon smiled like a schoolgirl as he rushed back to Seokjin and Hoseok to tell them the great news. He was so excited that he ended up texting Yoongi and everyone else about his date with Jungkook.

Later that night, Namjoon picked up Jungkook for their date. They spent the night together, enjoying each other's company as their feelings for each other entangled together.

Jungkook once loved someone else before, but now, he was currently in love with Kim Namjoon, the one who made him feel the happiest when they were together.

Ahhh we finally reached the end of the book. Namkook shippers, how we doing?

I wanted to thank you all for reading this book, it means a lot. This book originally started as a Taekook book before it became Vminkook. I lost many readers because of that, but some of you stayed and I gained new readers along the way, so thank you.

I wrote this book to explain the different types of toxic relationships. While dating Taehyung, Jungkook was in a toxic relationship. Jimin was toxic as well since he wasn't friends with Jungkook at first and never told him the truth until Jungkook found out. Then, Jungkook became the toxic one when he ignored his real friends. Everyone can be toxic, your partner, your friend, even yourself.

In the end, Jungkook left all the toxic situations behind and focused on himself, his own happiness which is what matters. Focusing on yourself is the best kind of self-care and love that you can give to yourself.
