Jimin and Taehyung hadn't seen each other since the night Jungkook learned the truth.

They also didn't have the major, so they didn't see each other on the same side of campus, at least not until today.

Jimin was walking to campus alone, keeping his gaze lowered in case he came to see Jungkook. Jimin didn't want to see him and feel way worse than he already did.

Jimin nearing the steps to the entrance of the school when he stopped upon seeing a pair of shoes stopping in front of him. Lifting his gaze, Jimin was surprised to see Taehyung standing in front of him.

"We need to talk," said Taehyung, occasionally meeting Jimin's eyes before looking away every few seconds. Needless to say, it felt awkward.

Jimin nervously swallowed before attempting to sidestep Taehyung to get past him. "We have nothing to talk about."

"We have a lot to talk about," Taehyung said, grabbing onto Jimin's wrist and pulling him aside.

Jimin scoffed. "No we don't, we're not even friends anymore, so what would there be to talk about?" Jimin asked, pulling his hand away from Taehyung and crossing his arms over his chest.

"Jungkook, we need to talk about Jungkook," Taehyung answered. "I know you two broke up and that you guys talked after you woke up. I talked with Jungkook as well before I left, but we never talked."

"Because I don't have anything to talk about with you," said Jimin, sounding annoyed. He turned on his heel to walk away, but once again Taehyung stopped him.

"Jimin," Taehyung said, sounding frustrated. He stopped in front of Jimin and crossed his arms over his chest as well before he continued. "It's not just Jungkook that we need to talk about. There's more we need to discuss, like what exactly happened to our friendship."

"You know what happened," said Jimin as he rolled his eyes. "And I don't want to talk about it either. Goodbye." Once again he attempted to walk past Taehyung, but Taehyung wouldn't let him.

"Are you going to let me get to class or what?" Jimin asked.

"I will after we talk," Taehyung said sternly.

"Fine, but not here," Jimin said as he sighed and uncrossed his arms. He tightened his grip on his backpack as he wasn't very happy to be talking to Taehyung. "We can meet up at lunch or after classes to talk."

"After class," answered Taehyung.

"Fine, I'll meet you here, after classes," said Jimin as Taehyung stepped aside. He quickly walked past him and let out a sigh of relief once he was away from Taehyung.

During the rest of the day, Jimin was dreading his talk with Taehyung. He anxiously waited for him at the same spot from the morning. Then finally, Jimin finally spotted Taehyung approaching him.

"Sorry I took so long," Taehyung apologized.

"I don't care let's just get this talk over with,"' said Jimin, sounding impatient.

Taehyung scoffed. "Fine, first thing first, when we were supposedly going to date, why were you with Jungkook behind my back?"

"We weren't dating and we never did, besides you can't ask me that when you were dating Jungkook and cheating on him with me."

"Well...yes, but I thought you had feelings for me," said Taehyung, sounding confused. "You told me you loved me."

"You told me you loved me too, but I guess neither of us meant it," replied Jimin. "Lust and love are two different things. You said it yourself, you only loved my body, and while I only loved having sex with you."

"I did love you though," Taehyung answered truthfully, causing Jimin's eyes to widen in surprise.

"What?"

"I loved you," Taehyung repeated. "...as a friend."

Jimin nervously swallowed. He too loved his best friend, but after everything that happened, his feelings changed. "Our friendship is ruined though."

Taehyung sighed. "I know and I also know that apologizing won't make things go back to normal because best friends don't do what we did. Best friends are supposed to be there for each other, but we let each other down. Our broken friendship is beyond repair."

"I think it's best if we just ignore that part of our past and move on," said Jimin. "Move on from everything, including us."

"What are you trying to say?"

"I'm saying that we should move on as strangers who were friends at some point, but no longer. It'll help us, at least me, to forget about what happened, to forget you, to forget Jungkook."

"You still...love him?" Taehyung hesitantly asked.

"Yeah, but I hurt him and he'll never return his feelings so it's best I just move on, you too," said Jimin.

Taehyung nodded. "Okay, but before we go our separate ways, can I ask you one more question?"

"What is it?"

"At the party...why did you do it?" Taehyung asked, referencing his first sexual encounter with Jimin and his first time cheating on Jungkook.

"Why did you let me do it?" Jimin asked.

"I...well you know, I was sexually frustrated because Jungkook didn't want to have sex."

"But I was your best friend, not Jungkook and yet you let me do it. You should have stopped me."

Taehyung was at a loss for words. He didn't have an answer to Jimin's question. "I don't...know."

"It seems like neither of us knows why we did it," said Jimin.

"But you knew I was dating Jungkook and you still offered to..." Taehyung trailed off, not wanting to specify, but Jimin still knew what he was talking about.

Jimin sighed. "Listen, we're both in the wrong. We also can't come up with a reason why we did what we did, so let's just forget it. Remember what I said, I want to forget about everything and move on."

Taehyung nodded, but deep down they both knew the answer, and yet they refused to acknowledge it.

"Goodbye Taehyung," Jimin said.

"Goodbye Jimin," said Taehyung.

The two former best friends gave each other one last glance before parting ways. As they did, happy memories they shared came to mind. One, in particular, happened in high school.

Jimin's feelings for Taehyung turned into love. He loved his best friend, but his best friend loved someone else, Jungkook.

Taehyung knew as well, he knew what Jimin felt for him, but to save themselves from the pain, they chose to ignore it and they never acknowledged it.

Taehyung didn't want to lose his best friend and Jimin didn't want to feel the heartbreak after a rejection even though he already was heartbroken that his best friend loved someone else.

Eventually, Jimin's feelings for Taehyung diminished. He learned to love Jungkook, but Jungkook loved the one who caused Jimin his first heartbreak.

Jimin continued to walk away, not once looking back as he now felt the pain of his third heartbreak, losing his best friend.

Taehyung on the other hand, felt guilty. He knew Jimin loved him more than just friends and at some point, during their friendship, he questioned whether he really did love Jimin as just a friend or more, but every time he looked into Jungkook's eyes he knew.

Jimin was only a friend in his eyes. He loved him as a friend and nothing more and yet Taehyung took advantage of Jimin's feelings that night of the party and used him, creating the fallout of their friendship that could never be fixed.
