After Jungkook's conversation with Namjoon, Jungkook went home feeling relieved. His thoughts didn't bother him at all and instead, he found himself peacefully falling asleep.
The next morning, Jungkook felt the same as he did the night before. As he was getting ready to leave his house and head to campus, there was a knock on his door.
Jungkook instantly smiled as he opened it. Namjoon stood on the other side, smiling as well.
"Good morning Jungkook, are you ready?"
"Yeah, I was just about to head out," replied Jungkook as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. He closed the door behind him and locked it before he began to walk with Namjoon.
"Thanks for walking with me today," said Jungkook.
Namjoon, who had suggested walking Jungkook to classes the day before, smiled. "Of course, I don't want to be murdered when I see Seokjin."
Jungkook playfully rolled his eyes. "Seokjin wouldn't murder you."
"He looked at me right in the eyes and threatened to have you back by today."
"Well, it's a good thing he's having me back today," Jungkook said as excitement bubbled up inside him. He smiled to himself as he imagined Seokjin engulfing him in a hug and scolding him for ignoring him for Hoseok and Yoongi proceeded to do the same.
"Once we get past the apologies and the 'I missed you's', are you going to tell them what happened with Taehyung and Jimin?" Namjoon asked.
Jungkook's smile dropped and formed into a frown. "I really don't want to, but I have to. They'll want to know what happened."
"They already know that you broke with Jimin."
"How did they find out?"
"Hoseok mentioned that Jimin told him," Namjoon answered. "And that Jimin also confirmed that the reason for your breakup was due to Taehyung cheating on you with Jimin."
"Well, that is part of the story," Jungkook replied as their campus came into view. "I still have to tell them about the other part that I told you."
Namjoon nodded before they walked the rest of the way in silence. It wasn't until they were nearing their school doors, that the silence was broken by the sound of Namjoon gasping.
"What?" Jungkook asked as he raised an eyebrow confused.
"Uh...nothing!" Namjoon panicked and attempted to push Jungkook inside before he could witness what Namjoon had seen. However, Namjoon's grip wasn't strong enough, so Jungkook barely nudged.
Jungkook turned his attention to the direction where he had seen Namjoon turn and gasp and sure enough, he spotted two familiar figures.
Jimin and Taehyung were standing in front of each other with their arms crossed and their facial expressions s didn't seem very happy. Anyone passing by could tell they were having an argument.
"Let's go," Jungkook said, turning his attention away from them. "I have friends to talk to."
Namjoon followed behind Jungkook before he hesitantly spoke up. "Did seeing them...bother you?"
"No, I don't have anything to do with them anymore," Jungkook replied before making his way to the cafeteria. He immediately spotted his friends sitting at their usual lunch table.
Jungkook took quick steps to approach them as Seokjin slowly lifted his gaze. His eyes met Jungkook and immediately sprinted out of his seat and engulfed Jungkook in a hug.
"Jungkook," Seokjin cried out as he felt tears brimming his eyes. "I missed you."
"I know, I missed you too," Jungkook replied. "Namjoon told me that you threatened him to have me back by today."
Seokjin chuckled as he looked past Jungkook to look at Namjoon who smiled. "I think Hoseok and Yoongi also want to hug Jungkook."
"They can wait," Seokjin replied causing Jungkook to chuckle.
"Let me hug them and then you can hug me again afterward," Jungkook offered.
Seokjin reluctantly let go before Jungkook was immediately engulfed in a hug by Hoseok. "Jungkook, JK, I missed you. Jimin also told us what happened. I'm so sorry."
"It's okay, Namjoon mentioned that Jimin told you guys what happened, but there's still more of the story," he said. "I'll tell you guys what happened after I get my hug from Yoongi."
Hoseok smiled as he let go of Jungkook. Jungkook then turned to Yoongi who seemed to be on the edge of crying. "Wait, are you crying?" Jungkook worriedly asked.
Yoongi nodded as he pulled Jungkook in for a hug. "I'm crying because I missed you. Two long torturous weeks with you."
"Those two long torturous weeks are over," said Jungkook as he ran his hand up and down Yoongi's back to comfort him.
Yoongi let go of Jungkook to wipe his tears away before everyone sat down at their lunch table together. Jungkook began to explain what happened, he started from the night of the party, his breakup with Taehyung, his friendship with Jimin that later developed into a relationship before they broke up after learning the truth. Everything that Jungkook had told Namjoon, he had told his friends.
"So all that time that you were dating Jimin, you still loved Taehyung?" Yoongi asked.
Jungkook nodded. "I couldn't move on. Back then, when Namjoon and I were strangers, I told him everything because I didn't wait to tell you guys and feel judged."
"So you told stranger Namjoon everything before telling us?" Seokjin asked, feeling offended.
"I was going through a hard time," Jungkook defended himself. "Anyway, Namjoon told me that I need closure, but I didn't listen and instead put myself into a messy situation that resulted in another messy heartbreak."
"Do you still love Taehyung now?" Yoongi asked.
Jungkook immediately shook his head no. "Not after what he did, hell no. Y'all should have seen him that day on New Years' when he came over to my house and surprised us all. Jimin was passed out on the couch while we were talking and he told me that he still loved me. The old me would have cried in gratitude, but all I felt was pain and betrayal. I lost all my feelings right then and there."
"As you should," Seokjin said as he wrapped an arm around Jungkook. "I can't believe I was right about him the whole time."
Jungkook sighed. "You warned me too, Seokjin hyung, and yet I also didn't listen to you."
"It's okay, at least Taehyung and Jimin got the karma they deserved," Seokjin said with a smile.
"Speaking of them, Jungkook and I saw them talking when we were arriving. They seemed to be having an argument," Namjoon said.
"Let them spit their venom out on each other," said Seokjin. "Jungkook is free from all the pain they inflicted on him."
"Honestly, I couldn't care else either. I don't have anything to do with them anymore," Jungkook answered.
"What about when you ignored us for two weeks?" Hoseok spoke up. "I'm still a little confused about that."
"Before I explain, I want you all to know that I'm sorry," Jungkook began. "After learning that Jimin had pretended to be my friend while I was dating Taehyung, I was hurt because all that time I really thought he was my friend. His real intentions were to get me and Taehyung to break up so that he can date Taehyung. Taehyung told me that they were going to date after breaking up with me, but that never happened because Jimin started to develop feelings for me and cut things off with Taehyung."
"That's probably the most loyal things Jimin has done," Seokjin muttered.
"After talking with Taehyung and Jimin cutting off everything with them, I started to have doubts," Jungkook continued. "I started to doubt my friendship with you guys. I wondered if you guys were actually my friends or if you guys were also pretending like Jimin."
"They caused you to have trust issues and paranoia," Yoongi said as wiped away the few tears that brimmed his eyes. "We'd never hurt you like that, Jungkook."
"Yoongi is right," said Hoseok. "We're your friends, your real friends."
"It was the other way around," said Namjoon. "You were afraid that we'd hurt you, so you pushed us away and hurt us instead."
"I'm really sorry," Jungkook said as he lowered his head shamefully. "I never intended to cause you guys pain."
"You should have told us from the start," Seokjin said. "We're here for you, that's what friends are for."
Jungkook nodded as he slightly his gaze to peek at his friends through his lashes. "I already told Namjoon, but now I'm asking you guys. After what I did and said, do you guys think I'm a bad person?"
"Why would you be a bad person?" Seokjin asked. "The bad people here are Jimin and Taehyung."
"Yeah, you did nothing wrong, Jungkook," Hoseok reassured.
"You also had no idea what Jimin and Taehyung were doing," Yoongi added.
"But in a way, I was also like Jimin. He learned to love me and I dated him in hopes of falling in love with him to get over Taehyung. I even had thoughts of Taehyung while with Jimin."
Seokjin, Hoseok, and Yoongi remained quiet, unsure of what to say. When neither of them spoke up, Jungkook continued.
"I'm also a hypocrite. I told Taehyung that relationships aren't just about sex, but here I was, having sex with Jimin to distract myself from Taehyung."
"Wait what?" Seokjin asked, his eyes widening, as well as Yoongi's and Hoseok's.
Jungkook covered his face with his hands. "Don't focus on the sex part, I just want to know what you guys think of me," he said, his voice sounding all muffled.
"Is there a right or wrong answer?" Yoongi asked.
"Um...sorta," Jungkook said as he moved some of his fingers from his eyes to peek at his friends. "What Taehyung and Jimin did was wrong, but I'm just as guilty as they are."
When Seokjin, Yoongi, and Hoseok still didn't know what to say, Namjoon spoke up. "After having a day to think about it, I just want you to know that your actions don't compare to how much pain Jimin and Taehyung caused. Besides, as I told you, what happened, happened. You learned the truth and that's all that matters, they can't cause you any more pain."
"At first, I didn't know what to say, but after hearing what Namjoon said, he's right," said Seokjin. "Your intentions don't compare to Jimin and Taehyung's."
"You may feel guilty for what you did, but Jimin and Taehyung didn't feel guilty when they were purposely causing you all that pain," added Hoseok.
"Now that you've learned the truth, you can move on from the pain they've caused," said Yoongi. "You have us, your real friends, whenever you need us."
Jungkook broke down in tears after hearing the kind words that came from his friends. He'd never been so grateful to have friends like them. "I'm so sorry for ignoring you guys for two weeks."
"Jungkook, you already apologized like three times already," said Seokjin as he wiped away Jungkook's tears. "We accept your apology and we're glad to have you back. Now, dry your tears because your new friends are coming over."
Jungkook quickly dried his tears with the sweater he was wearing and just in time before hearing Eunwoo's familiar voice.
"Jungkook!"
Jungkook turned to face Eunwoo and seeing the rest of his new group of friends as well. "Hi guys, do you wanna sit down and meet my other friends?" Jungkook asked with a smile.
"Oh wow, our friend group is suddenly getting so big," said Eunwoo as everyone sat down with the rest of Jungkook's friends.
"Hoseok!" Yugyeom exclaimed as he hugged Hoseok.
"He's my boyfriend," Seokjin spoke up, feeling jealous.
"And this is my boyfriend," Yugyeom introduced Bambam, not hearing the jealousy in Seokjin's voice.
"This is our jealous single friend, Eunwoo," BamBam proceeded to introduce his friend. "He's always jealous of mine and Yugyeom's relationship."
"Why would I be jealous when Jaehyun, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Minghao are also single?" Eunwoo asked.
Everyone at the table continued to introduce themselves while Jungkook smiled, happy to be surrounded by all of his friends.
Eunwoo, who was sitting beside Jungkook tapped his shoulder. "Hey, were you crying?"
"Uh...no?" Jungkook said, sounding more like a question.
