The sun is so bright in my eyes. Why am I getting tired, it wasn't that bad of a fight, was it?

I closed my eyes, it was too much effort to keep them open. All the sounds faded out, and I couldn't open my eyes again.

No, fuck it's not happening Again. I'm dying aren't I, I don't want to! It's not fair I've never sinned in my life, yet this still happens! Why... Why does god hate me so much.

I felt something soft around me, I opened my eyes, only to be greeted with a blinding light.

I looked over to my side, only to see (f/f) spread across until the eye could see.

"Why is there flowers everywhere, it's so much different from the last time I was here ....."

I said alloud to what I thought was myself.

"I- (y/n).... What are you doing here?"

A voice asked, I loved up only to see the one and only, shinobu.

"I think I just died, for good this time."

She tackled me into a hug.

"I'm sorry... I wasn't there to protect you."

"It's alright, I'm just glad we were able to meet again. Also about that kiss..."

"Oh! yeah so I really really like you, and.... Hold on let me do a proper confession."

She got up and breathed, she helped me off the floor, but she didn't let go of my hands.

"(Y/n), ever since we were little kids training together, I've been in love with you. From the way you talk, walk, act. I don't know if I'm meant to be feeling like this about women. or if I'm just getting these feelings mixed with friendship, but (y/n) I hope you understand."

"...you know I've sort of felt the same way too. For a while I just thought it was friendship, especially when we were kids. but when you kissed me, I felt different, I felt like I loved you the way I've loved previous people. So I do understand, and I think I'm in love with you too."

We embraced each other, both of us sobbing.

"I never thought you'd feel that way for me."

She said, but our moment was soon interrupted.

"Heyyyyy you love birds! Come say hi to the others."

A voice said in the distance, I looked beyond shinobus shoulder, only to see kanea.

"EH KANEA IS HERE?? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!"

"we were in a moment (y/n)."

"Oh yeah..."

We let go of each other, and both walked to the girl.

"(Y/n)-chan! How are you, I haven't seen you for a while."

"I'm good, I'm good, how has the afterlife been for you."

"It's been good, but shinobu was so worried when she died be-"

"NEE-SAN DON'T!"

shinobu yelled, she was becoming more and more like her old self.

"Fine fine, only for my favorite little sister."

"I'm your only little sister."

Shinobu said rolling her eyes

"Anyway, yeah let's go meet the others."

I say walking in one direction.

"Wrong way!"

Kanea said, walking in the complete opposite direction.

"Wait we'll catch up nee-san!"

Shinobu yelled to her sister, before walking towards me. She grabbed both my hands in hers.

"Do you want to tell them now?"

"About us?"

"Mhm."

"How about not now, because I want to say hi and everything. How about in a few weeks. Is everyone who died here?"

"Yeah it's kinda like that, but I get what you mean. I'll be ready to tell them when you are (y/n)-chan."

She said, putting her forehead against mine. My face was heating up.

"I- UM LETS GO!"

I said pushing her away, covering my face.

"You're too cute (y/n)."

She looked at me lovingly, it reminded me of when we were younger. And we use to hide in the cupboard from kanea while playing hide and seek.  We were so close together in that time

"No, you are way cuter!"

"Nuh ah, you."

"No you."

"Hmmmm nope! You're cuter (y/n), just accept it."

"Fine fine I'll let you win this time."

I say chuckling, and grabbing her hand. We walked into the direction that kanea was, eventually we found a tree with a picnic basket, and the others.

"(Y/n)!"

most of them yelled, as I was tackled to the ground.

"WAAAAH (Y/N) I MISSED YOU!!"

"Hasn't it been like 10 minutes misturi...."

Muichiro said, looking at her with a deadpan face.

"It's actually been way longer than 10 minutes, time passes different you idiot."

Obanai said in response to him.

"Oh.. I forgot."

"Now now muichiro and obanai, no need to be mean!"

Rengoku said with a smile on his face. Though he looked a bit hurt.

I wonder why, and time passing differently?

"Wait what do you mean by time passes differently? How long has it been?"

I asked frantically.

"Well (y/n)-san, I assume you died a bit later than the rest of us, so it's felt like a months maybe even years, while it's only felt like a few minutes for you."

Gyomei said in response.

"Eh... That long?!"

"Well it's not always like that, Sometimes time passes differently for different people. For example it's only felt like a year or two since I've seen you, but it could feel like minutes for others."

Muichiro said, eating some sort of sandwich from the basket.

"I see... So, how are you all?"

"Well were dead hahaha!"

Rengoku said with a giant smile, as he crossed his arms against his chest.

"Stating the obvious, rengoku."

Shinobu said with a smile, but the smile was more of one where she wanted to kill him.

"Don't be rude shinobu! It's funny."

I said, which softened her look a bit.

"Whatever, whatever. How about we all have a catch up!"

"Sounds good!"

Misturi replied. As everyone sat down on the picnic blanket.

More and more people joined us, until eventually no prior pillars remained on the living world. Shinobu and I eventually told them what was happening with us. And most of them were pretty supportive.

Rengoku and giyuu seemed to have a bit of a problem with it though. However they soon let it go, it's not like we had forever in heaven.

The day was coming closer and closer to where we had to go back go out lives.

"Shinobu.... I don't think I want to go back."

I said to her, looking into the void worriedly.

"What? Why?"

"What if we don't meet again, or what if we don't remember each other! I don't want to live a life without you!"

My eyes were slightly watery, the thought of never meeting her again, it scared me.

"Shhh don't worry my love, I'm sure god wouldn't punish us that much. I'm sure we'll meet again, even if we don't recognize each other."

She said, putting her forehead against mine.

"Okay, I trust you...."

"Have a good first day at kinder!"

My mum said, watching me walk off into kinder. It was my first day, and I was so nervous!

What if I don't make any friends, and then I have to eat by myself! Ahhhh that's so embarrassing!

I walked into the room with the teacher, and all of the other kids. I then began balling my eyes.

I want my mum!

I was a mess on the floor. The teacher tried to comfort me, but it wasn't really working, until a young girl came up to me.

"Are you alright?"

She asked. Her eyes were a nice purple, her hair was fully black.

"N-no I miss m-my mum."

I said, hiccupping in the middle of my words.

"It's okay! I'm here so we can be friends. I promise by the end of the day you won't be crying!"

She said, putting her hands on her sides. She then reached and hand out to me, to help me get off the floor.

After that the teacher let us go. She introduced me to some people, and we became at what that time was considered best friends.

After that day, her and I hung out every day. The second day learnt her name, and many other things about her.

We grew up together, she's always there for me, when we were 8 something happened with my mum and dad, causing the police to show up. She help my hand during the whole ordeal. She makes me feel safe.

We even went to the same primary school, and eventually both enrolled in the same all girls highschool. It was one of the best of the best, originally I never thought about going there, especially since there was a test to get in.

But I tired just for her, and it worked! I got in and now It was our second last  year, her sister was graduating this year, we've been best friends for 13 years at this point.

She's someone I hope I know for the rest of my life.

"(Y/n)-chan let's go!"

I heard someone knock on my door

Ah shinobu must be here.

"ONE SEC I'M ALMOST READY!"

I was rushing around, trying to get ready as soon as possible.

"Hurry or we'l-"

I opened my door to her

"Late? Who do you think I am?! A barbarian. Rude coming form my best friend in the entire world."

I said falling into her arms, faking crying. Being all dramatic and all. She then dropped me.

"You big goof. Let's go."

She said quickly running away.

"hey wait up!"

I ran to catch up with her.

"So did you hear what happened to angela..."

The two of us gossiped all the way to school. Eventually the seniors dance came up.

"So are you taking anyone to dance, shinobu?"

"Wait we get to go?"

"Yeah us and the Year 12's, I think they have two in case one goes wrong."

"Ah I see... But I'm no really sure who to take."

"What do you mean?! What about that boyfriend of yours."

"Oh. Him. Maybe, I'll think about. But can't us two just go together?"

"Hmmmm no! I want to meet the guy you're bringing."

"Fine fine, you're so pristine (y/n)."

She says, I give her a grin.

"Well you should've know that when we became friends!"

We both got off the train, continuing our journey to school.

We eventually got to class, it was a pretty boring day, until around 10 minutes after I left my class. I went to the stairs and saw something I had never hoped to see.

"Oi look girls it's that fucking f*g"

"Pfft watch out guys she might get a crush on us!"

"Ugh I can't believe I have to breath the same air as this skank."

"She's so ugly as well!"

The four girls kept throwing insults at shinobu.

"You know you t*ink we see how you act around (y/n), you really think you fucking deserve to be with her?"

"Yeah! She would never like a l*sbo like you."

"Hoenstly just go jump off the roof or something, it's not like anyone would care."

"Yep."

She wasn't saying anything to defend herself.

Oh god should I step in? What if they start go hurt her! What do I do then? Oh fuck it anything for my bestie.

"Shut up you four!"

I say, grabbing shinobus arm.

"If I ever see you three cunts talking to my bestie ever again, I will take you to the back of the school and I will shank you."

I glared at the four after I said that, guiding her and I out the school.

Eventually we were at a park.

"AH I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THAT! OH MY GOD ARE YOU ALRIGHT SHINOBU?! THEY DIDN'T HURT YOU RIGHT?"

I asked frantically, jumping around her. The adrenal from the situation was still running in my blood.

"I'm okay."

"look shinobu they're lying! We're just really good friends, don't mind what they were saying."

"..."

"Shinobu?"

She started to walk away.

"Shinobu!"

I grabbed onto her sleeve.

"Just let go... Please."

She said in a soft tone, her voice cracked, alone as if she was about to cry.

"I tried to be like my sister. I tried to be calm and collected like she said, but it still didn't work! Why does everyone like her more than me!"

"Shinobu, i-"

"DON'T! d-dont... Please, just let me be.,"

I let go of her sleeve, letting her walk away.

Poor shinobu. What do I do go make her feel better... Think, think (y/n). What does she like.

Butterflys! I'll make her a cake, cake makes everyone feel better, a butterfly cake.

I quickly run to the store, getting food colouring and all the ingredients.

When I got home I got straight to work, I need to make this the best cake ever.

Okay shinobu likes strawberry, so I'll make a strawberry cake, and her favourite colour is purple, so I'll make it a purple butterfly.

It took around an two hours to make everything, and make it presentable.

Okay now all I have to do is go to her house.

It was around a ten minute walk to get there, I knocked on the door.

No answer again. I was going to knock again but the door opened.

"What do you want..."

She asked, she's obviously been crying. Her eyes were red and puffy.

"I made you a cake!"

".. alright."

She opens the door to me, letting me inside. Somethings up, she sounds more mad than sad...

"I made it a butterfly, I know how much you like them."

"Thank you."

so much anger in her voice.

This is awkward, what do I say?

"I'm guessing your sister is out?"

She nods her head.

"How about we watch some trashy movies, or we could go out and walk around."

"Let's stay inside, I don't really want to go out."

We sit down on her couch, she put on the princess diaries, a movie that we've both loved since childhood.

"Shinobu, I think we should talk."

"You're right."

She paused the movie, and she looked at me.

"(Y/n) I'm so sorry. I didn't want this to happen."

"What do you mean? You didn't do anything wrong? I was those bitches who say sorry to you."

"No! It is my fault..."

"What are you saying? Do you think you should deserve bullying?! Because you don't!"

"No... I mean they weren't lying."

"What do you mean?"

"(Y/n)..."

She stood up, looking at me.

"(Y/n), I'm in love with you."

"What do you mean?"

"I've been in love with you for a long time, and I'm tried of pretending  that I'm not, and that those feelings don't exist."

I stayed silent.

"I didn't want to tell you because you've never shown an interest in girls to me, so I thought it would ruin our friendship I don't actually have a boyfriend I lied to make you think I was straight! Please (y/n)! Just say something please!"

"I... Shinobu i don't know what to say to you, I don't really know how i feel... I think I like you as well, I don't know. But are you angry?"

"Yes I'm angry! I've been angry for a long time, Ive had to hide these feelings for so long, I've had to lie to you, I'm angry at myself and people. and I'm sick of being angry! I just want to know what you mean."

"Well, Like I've thought about what if we were together. But everyone does that, I think. I don't know if I like girls, I don't know if I like you!"

My eyes were getting watery, everything was confusing.

"Well do you want to at least try?"

"Sure, this can be our first date or something!"

Though my eyes were watery I was still laughing at the situation.

We went to prom together, we graduated together, we even went to the same uni, though we ended up studying different things. We moved into a home with each other.

Shinobu became one of the best doctors in our country, while I became a fashion designer and owner of a clothing company, we both travelled a lot for work, but it sort of worked so we didn't get tired of each other.

It was a nice two rich gay aunties life.

We lived in a nice modern apartment that looked over the city, with giant windows.

But we still weren't married.

God I need to get her a ring.

The next day I went shopping with one of my best friend mitsuri, and her husband obanai. Though when we got to the shopping place, obanai dipped out to buy something for her.

"So mitsuri, how is your shop going?"

"It's actually going amazing! We're getting a lot of customers, thanks to you and shinobu, I'm so thankful! And I'm sure obanai is as well."

Ah yes shinobu got people she's treated to recommend, and since she's one of the best some of those people must of been pretty important. And I got influential people to recommend, she must be getting a lot of people.

"Oh it's no problem! The people I got to recommend, actually really loved your food."

"Really I'm so happy!!"

We walked into the ring shop, it was only us two in there.

"Okay we got to find a ring for shinobu, and I'll get your something as well!"

"Oh my, this place is really expensive are you sure?"

"Of course! You took time out of your day to help me, so I think you deserve it."

the person working there came up to us, and walked us through all their rings.

And then I saw it, it was perfect.

"Excuse me, how much does this ring cost?"

"Ah that one, van cleef and arpels made that one, it's around 59k, are you interested?"

"Yes! I'll take it."

"Oh and misturi did you decide what you wanted?"

"Yep, this."

She pointed to a necklace that was around 1.5k, I guess she didn't really want to choose something super expensive.

"Okay so your total comes out to be 60.5k, I'm guessing you'll be paying on card?"

Two days later shinobu came back from a long surgery, so she got 3 days off before she had to go to work.

"Shinobu!!! My little butterfly, would you like to go to the beach tommorow."

"Depends where."

"Ummm you can choose, but if you want to fly there you'll have to pay."

I said, giving her a cheeky smile.

"Fine fine."

The next day we got on our private jet and went to fiji, the water was so nice, it was sunny not too much wind. The sun was setting it was time.

"Shinobu let's take one last walk along the beach before we get back to our room."

"Of course my love."

She said

We took a walk along the beach, we saw a glass bottle it seemed to have a note in it.

"Look (y/n), a note. You get it!"

"No you, I'll make you dinner if you get it!"

"Fine fine."

She did a light jog to the bottle, with me following close behind. 

It's now or never (y/n), no need to be a coward.

I get on my knee as she's reading the letter, pulling out the box from my pocket.

"(Y/n)..."

She turned around, and for the first time, I saw shock on her face.

"Is it a yes?"

She dropped the note that contained the question, and fell to her knees.

"of course!"

"I love you shinobu."

"I love you too (y/n)."
