I whispered, trying my best not to wake you sanemi out.

"Goodnight."

A monotone voice said in response.

How am I going to get to sleep, The cicadas are so loud here.

I turn over to look at giyuu's sleeping frame.

His hair is pretty. It looks soft

I turn over again to look at the ceiling.

It's so dark... well it is the middle of the night it's not like the sun would me up anytime soon. There's probably demons outside.

I slowly sit up, contemplating weather I should go outside or not.

On one hand it's pretty dark around here, but at the same time I'm bored. I'll have to sneak out... last time i did that with ani-san, it didn't go too well. I'm stronger now, it will be fine.

I get out of my blanket, and slowly tippy toe to my nichiran blade. picking it up, I made sure to not hit anything with it. I walk over to the door, about to open it.

"Where are you going."

I turned around, only to see giyuu sitting up and staring at me.

"I- uh nothing I-I just wanted air."

I said in a whisper, making sure not to wake up sanemi.

"Why do you have your blade then?"

"J-just in case a demon comes a-and attacks me!"

We awkwardly stared at each other for a bit.

"Okay... just come back."

I nod, though he probably couldn't see it because it was basically pitch black. I open the door, the moonlight seeps into the room.

The air is so cold, I might freeze. Oh well.

I take a few steps outside, just taking in all the trees and plants around me.

I could go into the forest, or I could see what else this town has. Well the first option would help everyone be safer but I'd be in absolute danger with it being so dark. Or I could go look at the other buildings here and not put myself in danger, but it wouldn't help anyone... I think I sh-

"Girl, what are you doing out so late"

I jump at the sudden sound, looking around I see an old man carrying bamboo on his back.

"I- Um i-I'm just getting some a-air."

"There's demons out here you know? You'd be a prime target for some of them."

Of course I know there's demons out here, it's my job to kill them.

"Y-yeah I know I-I'm a demon slayer, s-sir"

"I see. Well instead of just standing around maybe go inside, or perhaps help me carry this bamboo."

I- what? I mean I don't want to be rude so I should, he's also old so it's probably hard for him to carry.

"O-of course"

I grab around a dozen bamboo sticks, and put them under my arms

"You're a strong one ain't ya? Let me guess you're a pillar?"

I look over I'm shock,

The general public isn't meant to know about Demon slayers! Or demons for that matter.

"U-uh yeah, how'd you k-know?"

" I use to work with them! In my prime years I slaved away making those blades you use!"

Ah I see

"T-that's cool.. a-are you a bamboo cutter n-now?"

He gives me a nod.
We continue to walk down the small path through the little town. Passing some houses, but something was off. All the houses had big claw marks on them...

"Excuse me s-sir"

He gave me a gun in acknowledgment.

"Why do the h-houses have c-claw marks?"

"Oh a high up demon attacked a week or two back. There were demon slayers that arrived, but all they could do was scare it off."

I didn't know what to respond with
Oh I'm sorry? That must of sucked? Wish I was there? Ugh why am i so bad at talking to people!

"Well this is my stop!"

We stopped at a little house, doesn't look like it could fit more than 3 people in there.

"Just drop the bamboo by the door."

I did as I was told, and sort of just stood there. I wasn't really sure if I should've just left.

"Thanks for the help kid."

"Y-you're welcome."

I waved at him, walking back to the inn like house.

3rd person

It was already morning, and the pillars needed to leave.

"Thank you for letting us stay."

Giyuu and (y/n) said.

"I need to leave now, goodbye"

Giyuu left with a wave to the girl.

"Come on lets go."

Sanemi said with a cold tone, he didn't even bother to look in her direction. Although the girl didn't really mind, she didn't expect sanemi to tolerate her when they first met, so this was bound to happen eventually.

They walked for a while in silence, past fields of flowers, forests and eventually they found them selves in a wet sort of forest. It was really misty, with little streams of water being almost everywhere. But it didn't look right. There was rotting wood everywhere.

"H-hey shinazugawa um did y-"

"What did you call me?"

"S-shinazugawa?"

He walked up to her. Punched her square in the face.

"WHY ARE YOU ACTING SO WEAK?! IS IT BECAUSE HE DIED? WELL NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU STUTTER HE'S NOT COMING BACK!"

(Y/n) couldn't stand for this, I mean he just punched her! She decided to sweep his legs while she was still on the ground.

"DON'T F-FUCKING PUNCH ME!"

"STOP SULKING OVER HIM THEN!"

She punched him. He got mad again so he kicked her. The two were all muddy now, fuming with anger they didn't notice the thing watching them in the trees.

"My, my what do we have here? Two pillars being idiots? My favourite!"

"WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT"

Sanemi shouted in the direction the voice came from.

The thing jumped down to where they were. It was tall, taller than (y/n) and sanemi. It wore a blue haori, with its hair tied up.

"How rude of me not to introduce myself. I'm upper moon 0."

(Y/n) stared in shock.

0? Not 7 not 1? Does that make him the strongest or the weakest? Or maybe they don't know? Why does he have a nichiran blade? Is that his demon blood art?

"now, don't you think it's rude to cause a ruckus in my territory?"

Sanemi pulled out his blade, with a crazed look on his face.

"Oh my, pulling a blade to me as well. I think I'll need to teach you some manners!"

"will you shut up already?!"

"First form, dust whirlwind cutter"

Senemi charged at the demon, with him slashing at the demon in a cyclone like fashion. Only half of them hit.

"That was pretty weak don't you think?"

"Breath of wisteria first form piercing drop"

The (h/c) girls Dashes at the demon, striking his arm with poison.

Yes lets go! He can't recover from that!

"Oh what a fun party trick!"

He said as he cuts off his arm... without the arm that (y/n) stabbed him in then there's no poison, no poison means her attack was useless.

"Shut you're snarky ass up."

Sanemi said, basically growling at the demon.

"Breath of Wisteria second form: whirling petals"

(Y/n) does dance like moves around upper moon 0. The petals surround the demon. Even though the move is quite painful it's so pretty to look at.

"Oh what pretty flowers you have. Sadly they'll have to go to waste."

The demons then disappeared, leaving its haori oh the ground.

Where did it go?

"FUCK, (Y/N) BEHIND YOU!"

She looks behind her, only to see the demon behind her. It hit the end of his blade to her head. Putting her to the ground.

She touched the place where the demon hit. Her head was bleeding. And her vision was going blurry. She could see sanemi and the demon talking, yet she couldn't hear anything.

Just breath (y/n). Just breath like ani-San taught you. Breath.
