THE SEA SIREN
A sweet inspiration from an upcoming story { A Composer's Heart} by one of my closest friends -> Green_tea_spilling
For fan fiction and non-fan fiction readers -> This is something I would love turn into a story (fanfiction) with Kim Hongjoong and Park Seonghwa {Members of Kpop boyband Ateez} as the protagonists but lack of time won't allow me to do :( So, here it is, a brief glimpse of it in the form of a poem.
Herein, the pirate king, Hongjoong, famously known as The Villain Of The Sea, falls in love with a sea siren who's name, he doesn't know. He had found him near the deck of his ship at night, pulled up by his men. Even though the others suggested him to immediately kill the creature, he had not listened to it. Instead, making some mere excuses, he took the still asleep creature to his chambers and put him there. A man with a heart of stone and void of good emotions, ruthless, cruel and vile, soon finds himself going berserk at the sight of the beauty.
Yet, there lies a conflict.
Sirens were the greatest enemies of pirates and in his history of living, Hongjoong had heard of a story of how his grandfather, a pirate too, had been killed by some of the sirens of the sea. Since then, he had sworn to himself to exterminate any siren he would come across. Yet this one seemed to be an exception. Even after the promise he had once made to himself, he couldn't help but fall more and more for the pretty creature...not knowing that he was a part of the family that had taken the life of his grandfather and now, this siren had come to skillfully fall in his trap and take his life as well.
This poem describes the pirate's conflicted emotions. It might not be too accurate to all that you've probably heard but c'mon, they're myths as well! A little change from my side wouldn't hurt, will it?
With all that being said, here you go~

THE SEA SIREN
That sombre darkness will not be forgotten.
Not until the day my last breath shall pass
And my soul will gaze back at my lifeless carcass.
The moon had shown her mercy
Selene, the kind goddess, spreading her silver cloak over the dark waters
Shining upon us like she had once done for Endymion, the shepherd.
The sea mirrored the glow,
Dark, gurgling waves, tall and turbulent
Carrying her blessings, like pieces of diamonds and shards of brilliants.
A nocturnal sight, too rare for an overboard viewer,
Accustomed to tempestuous storms and raging gales,
Through the treacherous nights, the one who sails.
Yet this unique tranquility with its rarity has its own tale,
One that I, would never in a lifetime
Dare to slip it out of my mind.
Everyone's lost in their empires of fantasy
Slumber lulling them, almost past the midnights
Yet no speck of somnolence in my eyes.
Why? Ask me. Why?
The reason, of my sleeplessness, yes, it must be said,
[It's] Because of a creature who occupies my bed.
Origin in the abyssal of the marine
Rarest of pearls, yet, breathing,
Nothing so etheral ever existed amidst the living.
Eyes unknown, tightly shut,
Lips, scarlet, pleasingly plush
A face, carved neat, with a tinge of blush.
Heavens may argue, and might the angels join,
"Who prettier?" Yet boldly, I'll declare
The presence, in my room, that nestles amidst the rugs in there.
His skin glistens brighter then all the jewels of the world
Ivory tinted body with a lustrous gleam
A form, so graceful, yet so fragile and lean.
They call me bloody, cruel and vile,
'Villain of the sea' and 'The king of the pirates'
No symbol of good will could ever cross my fate.
Yet there he is, a ravishing sight
A vision, an illumination, yet anonymous
Making my heart skip beats in a rush.
"Obliterate thy enemy!"
Have been preaching this, still, can't help but think twice
"Will this judgement be just and wise?"
Will the destroyer of the sea finally surrender?
A ruthless pirate who had never feared anyone
Comes to knees at a mere emotion.
But is that true? Or there's more to it,
A pirate's pride lies in demolishing his enemies
And I, was never, an exception to this.
That beauty of the sea, sprawling in there
A pretty jewel, yet in an rival's form,
Putting my feelings in a conundrum.
'Cause even though he has seized the heart of a tyrant,
He still, in every form, is a sea siren.
