"Sean! I had no idea you were coming!" I turn accusing gaze on Soph who just shrugs and smiles her sweet smile.

"This is for you" Sean hands me a little bag as he sits down beside his girlfriend.

"What's this--Oh my God Sean, you didn't have to do this. Wait does this mean you know?" I touch the small shoes adoringly. They are so small and cute, a tear slide down my cheek but the couple doesn't seem to notice because they've started bickering.

"Why did you buy male shoes, how do you expect Michelle to wear male shoes?!"

"Michael" Sean says as if it's correcting her and I'm confused.

"Come on Sean, it's going to be a female please. Kindly return the shoes and change it to  female shoes"

"What? Are you guys actually arguing about the gender of my child?" these guys are so unbelievable.

"Our God daughter", "Our godson" Sophia and Sean says simultaneously.

Okay it's confirmed, they are both not okay. I myself haven't thought of the gender, but now that I think about it, I see a little cherubic face with blue eyes smiling at me, it is the cutest baby boy ever.

"I think it's going to be a boy" I blurt out and Soph flail her arms dramatically.

"I can't believe this, you guys are vexing me right now"

"Hey honey calm down" Alan said breathlessly as Lynette's fingers struggled with his zipper.

"This is your baby here, you can see it." Alan stared at the black and white display on the screen and his heart constricted. He was close to tears, this was his child, his child with Lynette. He couldn't be luckier.

"It's so beautiful. Right Alan?" Lynette asked, grinning and Alan could only nod as he couldn't find his voice. Lynette must have noticed this because she pulled his head down to her and kissed him.

"Do you want a picture?" The doctor asked.

"Yes please." they both answered and Alan squeezed his girlfriend's hand.

"I love you Lynette and I promise to be with you and our baby forever" Alan finally found his voice back.

"Forever?" she asked as if she didn't believe her ears.

"Yes Lynette. Do you think I'm ever going to leave you? It's me, you and our baby together forever baby."

She smiled and he could see her eyes shinning with unshed tears, "Our children." she corrected. "Our children Alan"

And this was the beginning of new beginnings in their lives.
