Early Life of A Brown Hair Lady

***

The sound of elegant black high heels belonging to the girl with a height of around 165cm was tapping noisily on the floor. Her body was covered in a navy mini dress and a white blazer for her outerwear. Strands of her brown hair were tied like a ball which was protected by her Prada mini bag. She avoided getting soaked from the raindrops that caused her to run around as well.

Her goal to arrive at her apartment now was coming true. She was stopping outside the lobby just to catch her breath after running. Her full name was apparently Meredith Sarah Isabelle or more often called Sarah.

Sarah bent her body, still feeling tired. She then was showing off her cleavages which were quite big under her dress. Sarah was now straightened, her breath has become stable. And from a distance to her right side, she had the feeling that someone was watching her.

Her gaze began to wander on the right side of her, where she felt like someone was watching her. However, when her eyes fell in that direction, she found no one. Sarah was indeed surprised and feeling the chills around her nape. But she immediately put her thoughts away then turned around and entered the apartment.

From the direction where Sarah had been suspicious of, there was a guy who was looking at the photo he had taken with a Polaroid. The photo showed a beautiful white girl wearing a sexy navy dress. And that girl's long legs are really capable of making anyone who looks at them become obsessed and even want to touch her more excessively.

In Sarah's apartment, the girl was grabbing a towel as if she was getting ready to have a warm shower. After showering, Sarah wore a long white t-shirt and a black leggings. She then served a warm cappuccino for herself, just to accompany her in doing her homework to be reviewed for the next day.

Sarah immediately turned on her laptop to work on her illustration project. When she felt a little bored, she let herself log in her Facebook, just to find out the notifications she got. Not only Facebook, Sarah also logged in her Twitter and Tumblr. And something that made her curious suddenly came from her Facebook. Someone that she considered as a stranger, sent her a message. And that account is called Fr Rey.

'Hey, Sarah.' That was such a short greeting that she received.

'Oh, hey, do I know you?' Sarah replied to that stranger on her facebook dm.

'Maybe yes, maybe not. Just so you know I was your friend during high school.'

'Woah, really?? So what's your real name? I mean your Facebook name seems fake? Well, pardon my rudeness, haha.'

'It's okay, you're right. I did use a fake name just so you can't recognize me that easily ;)' Fr Rey's statement seemed to be able to make Sarah frown.

Sarah felt strange about this person. Maybe more precisely, why does this person not want to be recognized but on the other hand seems to be trying to introduce himself to her?

'Hmm, okay. So are you a man or a woman? Don't be offended because I'm just asking.' Sarah saw that person typing. And maybe It took a while for Fr Rey to reveal his true identity to her.

And for quite a long time, she was waiting for that stranger to reply till get bored to see that person still typing, writing such a very long answer. In the end, Sarah was really annoyed when her message was only read without being replied to. And suddenly the green dot that indicated someone was on Facebook slowly faded on the screen of the owner of the Fr Rey account.

Finding that, Sarah immediately logged out of her Facebook in annoyance but still wondering who is the owner of the Fr Rey account? Well, never mind, maybe it's time for her to push those thoughts away and then get back to work on the task she had neglected.

At midday today, the weather looks brighter than ever. In the Art Center College of Design, a class seemed to be taking place. A design lecturer –Mrs. Ramirez has finished explaining several theories and now it is time for the students to take their turn, explaining in front of the class about their book cover illustration design projects.

Mrs. Ramirez then announced that only 10 people could be chosen for the presentation, because the time required is not that much anymore. Of the several names, it turns out that one girl named Sarah is lucky. However, it seems that for Sarah, it wasn't luck. Maybe it was because she was the type of girl who wasn't good at speaking in front of a crowded audience.

"Okay, Sarah. Come explain to us about your work." Mrs. Ramirez then looked at the printed paper like a medium-sized poster, depicting Sarah's work last night. "Because I think this is very unique." She smiled at her when the girl moved forward.

"Well, thank you, Mrs. Ramirez." Sarah smiled back at her while taking her illustration paper. Her body position was now facing the front, looking at several students who were looking at her. She then swallowed hard for a moment just to relieve her nervousness.

"Umm, okay... Maybe here, I will just explain how I made this design.." Sarah paused while pointing at her own work. "Umm... and what tool did I use... and what type of story will I convey if I really want to write a piece of writing..."

Sarah still felt nervous so she cleared her throat before continuing the explanation. "So, at first I had to draw it manually then digitally when it came to the coloring step. And I'm more skilled at using Photoshop. So, yes I was using that."

Her gaze looked around the class. Some of her classmates were not paying attention to her presentation. There were also those who were paying attention but yawning. But there was one colleague who was enthusiastic just to encourage her.

Apparently, one of those colleagues whose name is Felicita Evelyn. Sarah also digested the incident. Summarizing it into several questions such as, is the presentation of her work so bad? So most of her colleagues didn't want to listen or even pay attention?

If so, maybe Sarah is someone who is really bad at speaking in public. And like it or not, Sarah has to be able to change that if she has a dream of becoming a public figure. Yes, that's a must.

Sarah cleared her throat again, trying to get her friends to pay attention to her. "Umm, and last, I wrote a psychological romance genre. And based on the character I designed, I made it look cute and different. And for the effects, I added some blood elements to make it like, well, you know a psychopath or sociopath who's according to most people's opinion, has a hobby to kill? Or sadistically hurt the victims?" Sarah stopped for a moment because the class atmosphere suddenly became quiet and all her colleagues in the class began to pay attention to what she was presenting.

"Umm, okay. So the point is I'm interested in writing a romance novel about a psychopath.. only If I have the chance." Sarah shrugged her shoulders.

"Wow, that is a really good idea, Sarah. We all can't wait for your literary works. And of course, you have a chance. Yes, there is always an opportunity for us as human beings." Mrs. Ramirez seemed enthusiastic. "Okay, does anyone have a question?" When Mrs. Ramirez asked the students in her class, there was one student who raised his hand, wanting to ask a question. "Okay, George? Please, ask!"

"Okay, Miss Isabelle. So, is your book based on a true event? Well, I mean did you ever date a psychopath? If you did, then wow!" The blonde man sounded like he was mocking Sarah. Then a group or members of the male gang immediately laughed at her. They made her panic to answer, especially when the class atmosphere became noisy, filling up the room with their thunderous laughter.

Mrs. Ramirez doesn't want to stay silent with the current noise. The blonde student was the cause of the ruckus. So, she hit the table and suddenly the atmosphere turned silent.

"Okay, everyone, listen up. Next time if I find that one or some of you didn't take the class seriously, please just leave my class. Because I am only willing to teach people who are serious and want to work hard." Mrs. Ramirez glanced at George cynically. "Got it, George?"

George just nodded then rolled his eyes angrily. "And to Sarah, you can sit back down and I really appreciate your work." Mrs. Ramirez smiled at her, but Sarah didn't immediately obey the orders of the lecturer to sit.

"Umm, sorry, Mrs. Ramirez. I think it would be rude if we didn't answer someone's question first." Sarah now looks confident. Mrs. Ramirez just nodded and smiled as if encouraging the girl to face George.

"Okay, George. I am willing to answer your questions regarding whether my work contains a true event?" Sarah said sarcastically in her last sentence. "Of course not! The idea of this book that I plan to write comes from several psychological films that I have watched. After all, I am someone who enjoys writing about romance. Therefore, I tried to combine both elements of romance and psychology. Because coincidentally, there are a lot of novels on the market that carry the Paranormal Romance genre, such as showcasing the role of a handsome vampire or a werewolf. For me, that's pretty quite mainstream. So, what's wrong if we include the real actors from real life, such as psychopaths or sociopaths? Apart from vampires, werewolves, zombies and others that are fictional?"

Through the gleam of her hazel eyes, she seemed to be visibly happy because her classmates now seem amazed to see her speak in front of the class so fluently. Then she started her narrative again until it was finished.

"That's why I wanna try writing my own work. I will add the element of how to avoid or be wary of a psychopath. And of course, I will include the element of when a psychopath experiences feelings of falling in love with the victim. Yes, in the book that I will write later, I just wanna convey the point that no matter how bad a human being or a psychopath is, they definitely still have goodness in themselves.. still has a feeling of love.. because no human being is perfect. No one can pass through mistakes including me, George, or everyone in the room. We are all human, so we have to be able to accept each other's strengths and weaknesses... And okay for the last question, have I ever dated a psychopath? Well, that's a very personal question. But here, I can honestly say that I have never had one at all! And ok, that's enough for my presentation today. Thank you all for your attention, thanks to Mrs. Ramirez also."

Sarah now bowed, bidding farewell to her presentation. All the students gave her a standing applause, including George -the figure who had wanted to corner Sarah because according to him, the article she made earlier was ridiculous.

On the same day, Sarah was sitting, eating lunch, accompanied by her favorite trilogy novel - American Diva by Julia London, in the cafeteria.

"Hey, buddy. What truly an amazing show indeed!" Felicita suddenly came over to Sarah with lunch - burgers and soft drinks. "And by the way can I join?" The Mexican girl asked her to let her sit down at the same table.

"Uh-huh, you think?" Sarah fiddled with her eyebrows.

"I think yes, you will let me join." Felicita winked at her then sat across from the English girl. "And you know, I think now you're starting to get confident." Felicita took a bite of her first burger. "I'm so proud of you, buddy!"

Sarah chuckled, "Okay, dude. I'm very proud of you too." Hearing her mocking at the end made Felicita laugh, as did Sarah who then laughed as well. The two were seen laughing together.

Sarah's phone suddenly buzzed. The ringtone made her stop laughing. She then started to focus on her cell phone. Her slender fingers touched the screen, opening the message menu. The girl with hazel eyes frowned when she saw the unknown number who sent her a message.

'Hey, sweetie. You look very beautiful today. I hope you still remember me.'

Sarah raised one of her eyebrows, feeling surprised by the contents of the message which seemed familiar to her. Then Sarah looked around the cafeteria, thinking maybe someone was watching her or playing a prank on her. And yet, she couldn't find anyone around.

"Hey, what's up?" Felicita asked curiously when she saw her best friend being weird.

"Nothing, I just thought that someone was trying to stalk me... since yesterday." Sarah shrugged her shoulders, sending her chills away.

"Wow." Felicita looked amazed. "Is that your stalker who was trying to message you?"

Sarah was seen sighing while rolling her spaghetti with a fork. "Yeah, and I think I lost my appetite." She then threw the fork roughly enough to make a sound on the plate. "Dude, I think I'm going back to class."

"Are you sure you're okay? I mean if you need someone to talk to, let's talk. I'll be here for you." Felicita smiled, trying to help to ease her weight on her shoulders.

Sarah returned her sweet smile. "Sure. But not now, maybe later."
