let's run and roll on the grass

and itch where the seedpods scratch

spread out on blanket sketching

identifying bugs and birds

drawing those we think we saw

making up ones we want

call each other poopyhead

and the worst insult we can think of

in between kisses

in between silly faces

let's spin around until we get hungry

and fight about nothing

ruin our appetite

stare at the bristol bumps

and graphite ideas

telling stories

through references

bad voices

and broad gestures

designed for one

let's sit in the car and cry

because we brought too many snacks

and we're coming down from the sugar high

let's say the worst thing we ever thought

and yell and bicker and then laugh it off

let's eat beyond our means

watching couples in fancy clothes

talk about nothing but their bills

let's tip the waiter best

drinking a pitcher of water each

let's head some place safe

and love

in a no-fault game
