200 Kisses

Dropping his bag on the ground, he toed off his shoes as he hit the light switch to his room. Arthit knows he shouldn't have reacted the way he did earlier, but he just couldn't help it. He doesn't know what came over him. All he knew was he saw red in his eyes. Watching Kongpob coach the new engineer faculty's Moon and Star was pure torture.

Kongpob as a second-year hazer and the previous Campus Moon has all but inherited the responsibilities of training them for this year's competition. He had another question too, why wasn't Prae training the new Star? Instead, she was helping with set-up.

Arthit never would have thought he could feel this irritated. No one has ever crawled under his skin like this. He was so annoyed, he didn't know what to do with himself other than to react the way he did. If only Knott was there, then maybe it wouldn't have gotten out of hand. But of course, it had to be Bright that was with him today.

Bright not only didn't stop him from overreacting, but he kept rubbing it in. It was hard enough already that he was gone for five days out of the week for the past month because of his internship. He really didn't need to be reminded that his boyfriend was spending all this time with the new freshies that practically worshipped the ground he walked on.

He really should wring that idiot's neck. If it weren't for Bright who insisted on going to check out all the new Stars practicing, he wouldn't be in this miserable situation. He wouldn't have had to spend the past two hours watching Kongpob interact with Moss, the new engineer faculty's Moon that kept Kongpob laughing the whole time. Was he here to become an engineer or a comedian? Was he really that funny? Nor would he have had to watch Kongpob dance playfully with Faye, the new engineer faculty's Star.

His boyfriend was so focused on training them that he barely spared him a glance. Okay, that wasn't entirely true. Kongpob did promise to wrap up as soon as possible with his signature smile and a wink. And of course, Arthit had blushed four shades and threatened to kill his cheeky boyfriend when Bright was standing right next to him.

After two hours of torture with no end in sight, he started to get annoyed, wouldn't you? After all, he made an effort to come back to campus for the weekend after his long tiring week just to spend some time with his boyfriend. Would it kill Kongpob to just cut the practice shorter for one day?

Sure he always told Kongpob to do what's important first. But c'mon, wasn't he important? Does he have to spell everything out? What happened to read between the lines? Didn't he say it was his duty as his boyfriend?

Maybe Kongpob wasn't that smart after all. Because if he was, he would have known that dancing that closely with the Star would not be okay with him. And then he had to watch them stumble and fall to the ground with her landing on top of him, and her palms on his chest like some cliché kdrama scene snapped his last straw.

Thinking back, Bright really should have stopped him, but of course, the idiot didn't. Instead, he added to the fuel.

"Whoa, Ai'Arthit, look at them giggling on the floor." Bright pointed to his juniors as if Arthit's eyes weren't already setting them on fire.

Clenching his fists, Arthit got up from the bleachers and stormed up to Kongpob and Faye.

"0062! On your feet! This is not a playground for nonsense. If you're not serious about training the juniors, then you shouldn't be here."

Kongpob took a step forward but Arthit quickly took a step back, "P'Arthit, I can explain. We were practicing and Fa-"

"I don't want your explanation! I saw everything!" Arthit shouted in his head hazer voice.

"B-but P'Arthit, it wasn't P'Kong's fault. I had st..."

"Was I talking to you?" Arthit snapped, making the girl shriek back.

Bright tapped the faculty Star's arm and shook his head to let her know it wasn't her time to speak.

"P'Arthit, I'm almost..."

"0062! Am I your senior?" Arthit demanded, glaring at Kongpob.

Kongpob stared right back with a straight face and a look of challenge in his eyes. His boyfriend wasn't willing to listen. "Yes!"

"Go run twenty laps!"

Kongpob didn't even blink and headed straight for the track field without another word. Aim came out of nowhere with two bottles of water and ran after him.

"P'Arthit, P'Kong was..."

With a scowl, Arthit turned to his junior when his boyfriend's back disappeared through the gym's set of doors. Hearing this junior call his boyfriend so endearingly only irritated him more.

"It's Kongpob! P'Kongpob for you." Arthit corrected the junior. He doesn't recall Kongpob ever mentioning being close with any of the juniors, definitely none close enough for nicknames.

"But that's what I've always called him. And we weren't playing around. We fell because I was clumsy and stepped on his shoelace. You shouldn't..."

Bright immediately stepped between Arthit and the Star. "Nong, let me help you practice instead." He quickly guided the faculty Star to join the others practicing on the other side to stop the situation from escalating.

Arthit was left fuming in the middle of the gymnasium where some juniors overheard the commotion and peeked at him. Feeling awkward and frustrated, he grabbed his things to leave. He thought about going out to the track field to confront his boyfriend but then Aim was also there, so he didn't go.

Instead, he powered off his phone and headed back to his dorm. What a shitty evening. He was tired and in no mood to talk to anyone. So here he was, his weekend was ruined before it even began. So much for using his much-needed haircut as an excuse to go out on a date tomorrow. He had purposely declined to go with Knott last week just for the occasion. Ugh! Stupid Kongpob! Why were they being so touchy? It was all his fault. Who knows what they do when he's not around?

Arthit didn't bother to open his curtains upon returning to his room like he usually did and went straight to bed without bothering to eat dinner.

It was around 3 a.m. when Arthit woke up hungry. He wanted to keep sleeping but his hunger pangs wouldn't let him. Half expecting someone to be sleeping beside him, he slowly cracked his eyes open just to find the other side of his bed empty. And even though he was mad at his boyfriend, he was still disappointed that he wasn't there. With a huff, he tossed his blanket aside and got out of bed.

Opening his fridge, all Arthit could find was a couple of bottles of pink milk Kongpob had bought him to stock in his fridge in case the stall downstairs ran out like the last time. He knew he wasn't going to find anything to eat in there. Because last week, he had purposely cleaned out his fridge and kept it empty so food wouldn't spoil in it like the week before. He only opened it out of habit.

Grabbing a bottle of pink milk, he sighed and looked across the room towards the curtains and thought about Kongpob. His boyfriend's fridge probably only had two bottles of water like it always did, not that he would go over at this time of the night anyway. Then a white bag sitting on top of his table caught his attention. When did that get there? He walked over and picked up the bag. There was a box of basil chicken fried rice inside and nothing else.

Arthit already knew it must have been his boyfriend who dropped it off since only Kongpob and Knott had a spare key to his room, and Knott didn't come back for the weekend. So why didn't he stay?

After reheating his food, he ate it silently while he thought about what happened earlier again. He already knew he had overreacted the moment he ordered Kongpob to run twenty laps. He doesn't even know why he did that now. And what's worse was he punished Kongpob in front of all those freshies. Biting on his plastic spoon, he looked down at his rice box. Only Kongpob would still go and buy him food after being yelled at.

Why couldn't he tone down his jealousy? Yeah, he knew he was jealous. It was just like the time he snapped at Kongpob over Prae. His boyfriend was only carrying out his duties as a hazer, albeit too friendly for his liking, but he really didn't deserve the punishment he gave. But he was too angry at the time to think rationally.

Arthit switched back on his phone. He expected a bunch of texts and voice messages from his boyfriend to load after so many hours of going MIA. However, that wasn't the case. In fact, there were none from Kongpob. There were three messages from Bright and one from Knott. He checked his chat apps and there were none there either.

With a frown on his face, he pushed his curtains to peer across to his boyfriend's room. Kongpob's curtains were drawn closed as expected at this hour. So he couldn't see anything.

Looking back at his messages, he clicked on Knott's first.

Messages:

Knott: I heard you did something stupid. Call me
10:47 p.m.

Well, words traveled fast. He wanted to call Knott right away but it was a bit too late now. With a huff, he clicked on Bright's messages.

Bright: Hey, did you leave without me?
8:44 p.m.

Bright: I think you went overboard with N'Kongpob
9:15 p.m.

Bright: Did you know Faye is N'Kongpob's cousin? She's a Suthiluck too.
9:16 p.m.

Cousin? Arthit's eyes almost bulged out of its sockets staring at the last message. Stupid Bright! Why didn't he stop him if he thought he was going overboard? Why? Arthit hit his head with his phone repeatedly.

He needed to fix this. The longer he waited, the harder it would be for him. He knew that much at least.

It was almost 4 a.m., but Kongpob is an early riser anyway, right? 6 a.m. and 4 a.m. isn't that big of a difference. He quickly cleaned up and grabbed his keys. He had some groveling to do.

Turning the key as quietly as possible, Arthit slowly entered the dark room. He can hear the soft and rhythmic breathing of his boyfriend in the room. He quietly toed off his shoes and turned on the flashlight on his phone. He walked over to the other side of the bed and snuck under the sheets before he switched off the flashlight.

His heart was pounding against his chest and his body was trembling from the adrenaline of sneaking in. The sun was rising and he could see the light break through the dark from the edges of the covered balcony. The room was slowly getting brighter and he could make out Kongpob's soft sleeping face.

Kongpob looked so peaceful and handsome with his soft lashes against his cheeks and his lips slightly parted. He smelled nice too. Arthit stared at his boyfriend and wished it wasn't so hard to express himself in front of him. He never thought loving someone was going to be so complicated and confusing.

Arthit can't help but think all this might be just a phase sometimes. Maybe one day Kongpob will wake up and think this was all a terrible mistake. Maybe all this was just part of the college experience for Kongpob. Then where would that leave him? Being in any relationship was hard enough but being in a same-sex relationship where society judged and ridiculed you was even harder.

This internal battle had been going on inside him since the very beginning. But he was too weak to walk away from Kongpob. He did try but he failed miserably. He only fell deeper each day he spent with the younger, and he only missed him more each day he wasn't. There was no turning back. Because no matter how difficult it was, it was worth it when he got to be with Kongpob.

Pushing Kongpob's bangs to the side, he slowly leaned forward to steal a kiss from those parted lips. A kiss he has longed for the entire week. A kiss he could steal without the younger teasing him. His heart started racing as he got closer and closer.

His lips ever so softly brushed against the soft and warm lips of his boyfriend. Pulling back, he looked at the still sleeping boy. Would it be too greedy to steal another kiss? Studying Kongpob's face again, he made sure he was still asleep before he leaned forward for another kiss. This time he pressed his lips a little firmer, just a teensy tiny bit more.

Then he noticed the slight movement of Kongpob's eyes behind his eyelids and he immediately leaned back.

"Kongpob, are you awake? Are you still mad at me?"

Kongpob lazily opened his eyes. He looked at his boyfriend for just a second before shutting his eyes again. Was he mad? Not really. Was he upset? A little bit. His P'Arthit wouldn't even give him a chance to speak yesterday.

Seeing his boyfriend ignore him, Arthit wanted to leave. He's not good at this making-up thing, but at the same time, he knew he was wrong. So he needed to swallow his pride.

"Kongpob, I'm sorry." Arthit gently rocked his boyfriend by the arm.

"What are you apologizing for?" Kongpob mumbled.

"You know, for punishing you. And...maybe...maybe overreacting. Did you really run twenty laps?"

"Mmm."

"I'm sorry, Kongpob. Do your legs hurt?"

"Mmm."

"Thank you for the food. Why didn't you wake me? I would have apologized earlier."

Kongpob opened his eyes and pulled his P'Arthit closer by the waist. He could never really be angry with his P'Arthit, especially not when he pouted like that.

"Kong...pob pob." Arthit nervously stuttered with blushing cheeks.

"I had brought dinner over hoping to explain to you, but you were sleeping so I left you your food. And besides, I was sweaty and tired from running, so I came back instead."

"Kongpob, I'm really sorry." Arthit wrapped his arm around Kongpob too.

"P'Arthit, we really were just practicing and Faye stepped on my shoelace, so we fell. We weren't fooling around. And Faye is..."

"She's your cousin. Bright told me. But even if she wasn't, I shouldn't have reacted that way."

Kongpob smiled and kissed the top of his boyfriend's head. He could tell it was very difficult for his P'Arthit. "I wanted to introduce you two yesterday. She's the one I mentioned to you that joined our school. But I just found out she was nominated as the Star for our faculty yesterday."

"Oh, when you said cousin, I thought it would be a boy for some reason. I'm sorry. Will you forgive me?" Arthit looked up through his lashes at his boyfriend.

"How about those 200 kisses you owe me from training? I'll forgive you if you give me my 200 kisses." Kongpob grinned.

"No way!" Arthit pushed back.

"Fine." With a sigh, Kong shut his eyes to sleep again.

Seeing his boyfriend closed his eyes, Arthit came closer again. There was no way he was going to survive 200 kisses without dying from embarrassment. And this cheeky brat spewed such nonsense in front of all those hazers during training nonetheless. So damn shameless. And 200? That's just absurd. Only this cheeky brat could ask for such an outrageous number.

With a little smirk, Arthit said, "How about five?"

A kiss on the forehead. Chup.

A kiss on the nose. Chup.

A kiss on each cheek. Chup. Chup.

A kiss on those lips again. Chup.

"Six," Kongpob replied against his P'Arthit's lips and pulled him in by the nape for a passionate kiss. He missed his P'Arthit so much over the week. He was still getting used to only seeing his boyfriend on the weekends.

Arthit was stiff for a few seconds before responding, letting the other's tongue twirl in his mouth and nibble his lips. His body slowly relaxed to let Kongpob pull him closer. Soft moans escaped between their lips. Kongpob's hand caressed his jaw as they kissed. They haven't gone any further than kissing, but the thought was scary and exciting. Maybe soon they'll be ready.

Pulling apart breathlessly, Kongpob smiled, "You drive a hard bargain, P', not even half."

"You're lucky to get six," Arthit smirked. He was happy they made up and the weekend hadn't been ruined after all.

"I need to get a haircut later."

"Are you asking me out?"

"Shut up! Let's go back to sleep. It's still early."

The two chuckled and snuggled a little more before drifting back to sleep.
