Dinner? My phone beeped

"Ouuuuuu" Jacinta said helping me pack my documents into my bag while I dressed properly.

"What's that? I asked

"Someone's asking you on a dinner date"

"Hell no. Who's that?

"The name here says Bryan. So it's a yes"

"Not when I've got a lot of work to do. Honestly, I don't want anyone around me like that"

"So what do you want?

"Justice! I fired

"Girl" Jacinta said with a look on her face that shows I just overreacted

"Ladies, are you good? Jethro said rushing Into the office

"Yes, she just got in her feelings" Jacinta defended

"Actually I'm out of my head. After that meeting, and knowing there's little or nothing I can do is enough to drive me crazy" I said and walked out

Although this morning I feel different, I took a day off to get to the police station and to the defendant's house.

I stood up, climbed my bed and faced the big portrait of us there.

She's been on my mom's side lately and sometimes I just wish you were still here so you'd have been the one to get married instead. I'm getting emotional" I said before I couldn't control my sobs
"I think of you everyday, I think of how time has gone and It hurts like it was only an hour ago. I'm sorry it's taking a while but don't worry, I'll give you a present. I love you so much" I concluded and went to take my bath.

I should have parked somewhere closer, I said in regrets after realizing I had about three filled bags to carry by myself. I never liked the idea of rolling a so I just carried the bags.

Holy heavens. Two bags fell from my hands after colliding with someone and my vibrator rolled out. No, Lord.

"How about dinner? I could say lunch but you look like you're in a hurry" he said

"Actually yes. I've got work to do but dinner sounds perfect. Here's my card"

"You can text the address, I'll drive there" I said already having my bags in my hands

I got a special tuxedo ordered. I couldn't afford to look less of what I am.

"Philip, where are you going to all dressed? Is there a meeting with Chief you didn't mention to me? My mother asked

And yet you won't fix anything, just be going on dates up and down"

"Okay o, if you say so. Go and come safely" She replied returning to the couch

"Hehe, Nna? She called

"Ma" I replied still trying to get my tie knotted

"What was that? I asked

"Ehn? Then send Dora nau. I even tried in the one's I bought. Grown man go dey go market like say he be woman" I murmured

"Don't murmur o. Just go to that date and come back first"

The fact that she was talking to a grown man of 29 years and the owner of the house was a very useless information as far as my mother was concerned.

"I'm trying to go and get you a wife, you want me to buy Utazi. Mummy choose one na" I laughed

"You've always been pretty, But I must say I'm in love with the sight of you" Philip said taking my hands and dressing a chair out so I could sit.

"Thank you" I whispered in a charming way

"What would you like to have?

"I'll just have a look at the menu" I replied

After choosing an easy meal, we got talking and ordered a few drinks

"So who's the lucky guy? He asked

"Ouu, lucky guy? Nobody yet

"I see, so that's why we're purchasing vibrators? He said

"Oh my God you're shouting" I laughed

"Of course I'm good. This drink is damn nice" I complimented taking a sip from the glass of wine.

"House of Assembly, and I'm the manager of E.R estates. Two of them actually not all, Chief is still alive" he said

"Ouu, Chief is wonderful and yes he stays in Abuja. You know? Abuja feels like a place people who have made it relocate to"

"I hope you're no longer hurt from what happened in the past. I must say I'm sorry and I hope we can move on

"Oh yeah sure I'm no longer hurt and yes we can move on" I said and took a sip from the glass I already left

"We could still do this some other time,and then maybe all the time? I really enjoyed tonight" he said walking me to my car.

"Yeah, We could" I said smiling

"Can you drive? I can drive you home in your car and get myself home if you want"

"No, it's fine,I can drive. Just try not to text me all the time, I'd lose focus and keep smiling" I flirted

"Not the way I had it gone staring at those boobs" he replied lustfully

"Phil! I said looking at him

"I'm so sorry Miss, I'll ask God to turn me to a vibrator next time" he replied

"How so? I asked quite interested in his reply
