PHILIP'S POV

Felicia being all determined to get to the tail of the snake followed me to Roger's house but She remained outside.

Roger was so tensed when he saw me. He must've been expecting the police or something. After several attempts to get information from him he blurts what Felicia would be happy to hear.

"See, Caleb raped her not me. So stop trying to make me confess to what I have no idea about"

"But you was there" I fired

"Watching out for them and not raping her"

"That makes you an accomplice Roger. You're as guilty as the rapist"

"If you say anything that will implicate me to the police I promise to take your brother down with me. Because just as you're calling me an accomplice, Emeka is an accomplice too. And guess what? He does drugs too so you're either shutting up and getting out of my house or implicating your brother"

"We'll see to that.." I replied and Left.

Felicia asked how it went since she waited outside. I told her it went well and he even admitted to Caleb being the culprit.
She nods and says she has to go and meet the Lawyer.

"But you don't have anything to show the lawyer. It was just a conversation and there's no way Roger would repeat all what he said to the police"

"Yeah,right. Give me my bag? She replied stretching her hands.

FELICIA'S POV

He took off his small sized school bag and brought out my purse that I initially asked him to help me hold while I went to buy a drink

"Take"

"Thanks. So right here, is my phone. That had your conversation with Roger recorded"

"Wow. That was smart" Philip exclaimed

"Yes it was. We'd have both been quite useless if we came here, had him say all that and didn't have anything to show for it"

Ring ring ring

His phone vibrated, and immediately the call ended he left in a hurry saying he had something urgent to settle.

I gave a nod, and went home to refresh before going to meet the Attorney.

I listened to the recording for the fourth time and dial the Lawyer's number.

"Go ahead, I'm listening"

"Attorney, Philip's brother is involved in this. I don't even understand how"

"How so? Tell me everything you heard"

"Okay, so I had their conversation recorded and Roger was threatening to take Emeka down with him if Philip says anything that would implicate him"

"Okay, hold on.. I'm jotting down everything you're saying. Go ahead"

"Okay, so he said Caleb was the one who raped her"

"Did he mention the names of other people? She was Gang raped"

"No he didn't. he just said he was watching out for them"

"That is a lot of information there. See me tomorrow by 5pm. Come with the recorded information"

"Okay"

The call ended and I fell on my bed. This whole thing was affecting me badly.

"Girl, stop crying. You should even take your bath you look like an abandoned potato"

"Princess???

"Stop shouting. How are you?

"Princess I'm not fine atall. Please stop playing these games. Come back home and stop making everyone think you're dead"

"Felicia, I really wish I can stop playing the so called game. I miss you"

"I miss you so much. Nothing has been same. Please come home. Please I'm begging you"

"Make my mom smile again Felicia"

"Okay but you've always been the funny one. Please princess"

"You're even crying more now. Stop it Fay. It's not nice seeing you cry. I'll come back okay? Just don't forget. Don't let them go unpunished"

"I won't, I promise you. I won't let them. I'll do whatever you want just come back"

CHIEF EMESHILE'S POV

I heard you're a friend to both the victim, and my sons.

"Yes sir" the young boy replied

"Are you in school yet?

"No sir. I will be forfeiting my admission"

"Why so? I enquired

"There's recently a hunch in my mother's ability to provide

"I see. What about your father?

"He's late sir"

"Only child?

"Yes. My elder brother is late and my step brother missing"

"That's a lot happening in your family. So who is Emeka to you?"

I observed his tensed appearance before I began

"You see. My sons are being accused of the rape and murder of that little girl.
And it's safe to say I have people working underneath for me. My sons will walk into that courtroom and come out pleading Non guilty, I can assure you. But your brother or whatever he is won't"

"Excuse me sir?

"You'll be excused, but allow me finish.
My sons have admitted to everything that happened and your cousin is involved alongside a few others who I don't really care about.
But that's not where I'm driving to.
I learnt that the case has been charged and the Plaintiff's Lawyer claims to have good enough evidence. What can you say about that?

"Nothing sir, I know nothing"

"You know nothing? I'm trying to save your life as much as your brother's. If things get heated up, the blame can be switched. Do you want to see things turn south on you and your brother?

"Then listen to me attentively. You get that evidence and destroy it. Don't show yourself in court atall on the specified date of Hearing. I'll take care of your school till you graduate and I'll offer you a job immediately you graduate"

"Yes, you heard me. What course were you given and which school?

"Political science sir. Unilorin"

"Good. I'm taking up all your school needs. It's a fair deal. You're either in or out"
