CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
FELICIA'S POV
"May the soul of our beloved sister, daughter, granddaughter and friend rest in perfect peace"
"Amen" everybody chorused
"Stop crying Fay. Please stop crying" Philip said holding me so tight.
"Phil, this was never the plan.
She knew how much she meant to me, she knew she was the reason I kept living. I should've been the one who was raped and died"
"Shhhhhhh. Don't you ever say that again"
I sobbed. I cried. I could no longer contain it.
By her coffin, was a picture.
A picture she took a year ago, she said it was her favorite picture and so made it her wallpaper, and made a portrait.
She wore a navy blue gown, that had long sleeves and a little touch of black at the neck. She was on the popular hairstyle, ghana weaving and had the most beautiful smile ever.
I can remember every single detail because I was the one who took that picture.
"Princess, why? I cried now oblivious to the fact the crowd hadn't dispatched.
"So what happened to me being your model when you eventually get your fashion home?
What happened to you applauding me from the crowd on my call to bar?
What happened to us celebrating friend ship goals as a barrister and nurse?
What happened to you being my Chief brides maid and raising your hands when the pastor asks if anyone is against my wedding. You said you'll stand up and tell them we've been friends for more than two decades and that man can't just take me from you.
You said you'll beat anybody that messes with me
You said together we'll undergo all my surgeries till there's nothing more to undergo
You said DVT had nothing on me. You said you'd be my hypewoman till the day we die. We, princess not just you.
Princess why.. God!
Where are you????.

"Water" Philip said passing a glass of water to me
"No"
"Please, take this. You've been crying and you're so dehydrated now"
"No"
"Please Fay. she's gone and your tears can't bring her back no matter how much you cry"
"Shut up" I fired in anger and stood to leave.
He held my hands.
"We're all angry at the truth but it's the truth"
I gave a nod. I wasn't sure how long I could keep standing as my vision became hazy.
"Phil?
"Yes"
"Promise me you'll stand beside me till the end. And you'll not change your mind about being a witness on the day of the hearing"
"I will"
PHILIP'S POV
"I will"
She gave a nod and left to sleep. Knowing fully well I had my part in the deal to play, I stayed around longer than usual.
When I finally got her cell phone, I checked for the recordings and deleted it. Leaving no trace.
I felt guilty, but it also felt good knowing I wouldn't have to forfeit that admission.
If not for that, for the fact I had just done something for my brother.
