Love
"So, what's your name?" He asked.
Should I really give my name to a stranger? Fuck it. Why not? I thought.
"My name is Bonnie McQueen." I said.
"I like that name. It's pretty. My name is Granger. Granger Bennett."
Granger said back.
"I thought that Granger was a last name. Like Hermione Granger."
He smiled that cute lopsided smile again. Why does this guy have to be so likable? I thought.
"Well, it could technically be a first name too. As evidence of my family. They've been using the first name Granger for years and years."
"Nice. My family just chose my name out of nowhere. They never really cared about important stuff like that."
"Well, I still like it." He said. I muttered a small thanks and drank some of my milk. I've never had to thank anyone before. It was... foreign to me.
"So what your favorite color?" He asks suddenly.
"Does it matter?" I answer back.
"Of course it does! It's one of your interests and I wouldn't mind getting to know you."
"But there is no point. My life sucks, I suck, I'm uninteresting, I-" He cut me off. He took my hands in his and looked into my eyes.
"Look, I don't know your situation right now but it'll get better. You don't suck, if you did I wouldn't have asked you to come with me to this café. Your not uninteresting, I actually like talking to you. And please don't say anything else that makes you seem you are less than you are, because you are more than that."
I was more than shocked. I was more than surprised. All my life people have been telling me I'm the things I say and now someone is here telling me different. My heart was beating fast and I didn't know what to say. Thank you? Maybe. It thought.
"U-uh, thanks. I appreciate it."
We both at there awkwardly, not knowing what to say. My heart was still beating fast a shakily took my drink in my hand and finished it.
"Look, I know this might be a personal question but... what's wrong with your life that has got you this down?"
Yet again. I was shocked. Why does he want to know so much about me? I thought. I decided to ask him that and he came up with the totally none cliche answer (obvious sarcasm is obvious).
"You seem so mysterious. I just wanted to know why, I guess."
"Ok, well, I'll tell you my story."
*Time skip to after she tells the story because the author is in class and needs to finish this scene*
"Wow, that really... sucks." Granger said after I told him about my childhood and current partner situation.
"Exactly. But my life has always been like this. It's always been full of shit."
"Language, please." He breathed out.
After a few seconds we both broke into laughter, real laughter. Not the kind I would fake in an awkward situation. I was genuinely happy for once in my life.
"Sorry. I've always been taught not to swear so it's alarming when someone else does it." He said after we stopped laughing.
We both look into each others eyes and- When will this cliche moment end? I thought as I looked away from his sweet gaze.
I looked at my watch and it was already 10:42 PM. I looked back up at him and he was checking his phone.
"I guess we ought to go?" He said.
"I guess." I answered back.
We got up and said our thanks to the woman behind the counter. Before I turned to leave, he said.
"Can we meet up again?"
"Uhh, sure."
"Tomorrow morning? At 10?"
"Yeah, that'll be good."
We both went our own ways and it dawned on me that I would have to see Griff again, obviously. I knew he didn't like me coming home too late and what I said on the phone wasn't too good either. This wasn't good. Oh yeah, the bus isn't coming either so now I have to walk home, in the dark, in the bad part of the neighborhood.
Shit.
End of part 1 of Love.

Reminder: I don't give a shit if my story is crap. You have a shitty attitude if your trying to point that out. Again, I thank people for criticizing me because it helps me become a better writer. But to the haters, you're fucking stupid if you're still here, if you don't like it DON'T READ IT. Common sense everyone.
