Chapter 67

Jisoo always feared of getting caught in the public, especially the times she wasn't supposed to. But she didn't have any choice right now. Waiting inside a cafe in the best disguise as possible, she kept her head down most of the time to avoid people recognizing her. Her heels tapped on the floor continuously, a sign of her being slightly nervous. Her hands gripped the coffee tightly, the warmth of the drink touching her skin.

The bell jingled, signalling someone either entered inside the cafe or left. She looked up to see the person and raised her hand to gesture her. The woman also noticed her in a span of minute. She walked to her and sat across her, raising one leg over another and leaned against her seat. With a smirk on her lips, she started the conversation,

"Well long time no see, Jisoo. Man, wasn't I delighted when I heard you wanted to meet me?"

Jisoo took off her sunglasses but kept the mask on. Putting them on the table, she replied, "Don't be foolish, Yeji. I wouldn't had called you if you didn't chase after money."

That answer triggered her anger as she banged her fist on the table, "Yah, who are you to talk to me like that, huh?"

"Keep it down, girl. You don't want to get attacked by my fans for raising your voice with me, do you?" Jisoo always had the upper hand.

Yeji scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest in defeat. She was just a nameless actress, always played tiny roles in movies and dramas. A characterless woman who would do anything for money. Jisoo knew her since she once played a role alongside with her in the same movie and they got into a fight over a small reason.

But Jisoo admired her nerve to pick up on a fight with a top actress like herself.

Without wasting time, she took out a packet and slid it over to her. Yeji acted like she didn't care what was inside, but in the next second, she opened the packet already. Her eyes sparkled upon seeing the huge amount of money trashed inside, enough for her to buy a flat in an apartment. A satisfactory smile crept up on her lips as she chuckled lightly and took the packet shamelessly.

"So what do you want me do?"

Jisoo smirked under her mask and remained silent for some time.

"I want you to go to the reporters and give them something to write about."

She frowned annoyingly, "Too boring. About what?"

"About how Stardust Hotel covered a suicide in one of their rooms."

Yeji raised an eyebrow, slowly finding the interest in this. "Stardust Hotel? Isn't that your dear hot boyfriend's?"

The actress leaned against her leather seat and took time to drink her coffee. It seemed like only yesterday she decided to kick that good-for-nothing secretary out of their lives, and God agreed with her plan so He bestowed her a mind-blowing chance. Like yesterday when she accidentally overheard her boyfriend and his secretary's conversation in the office, talking about a death they didn't bring to the public. Her sharp brain immediately knew this was the opportunity she shouldn't let go to proceed with her dark plan.

Smiling viciously, she replied, "There's this one girl whom I hate and would be glad to get rid of; and it seems like my boyfriend is very interested in her."

Her words made the other laugh mockingly. She clutched her eyebrows and glared at her.

"Interested in another girl? Yah, he's got the most beautiful woman of South Korea in his hands. You're the universal beauty, they say. He must be a total clown to do that." Yeji still needed proof to believe that.

Jisoo smiled but it wasn't a happy one. It showed pure anger and hatred for someone. "Seokjin is stupid, innocent and brainless. A simple guy who values a woman's heart than the body. And that little daring orphan thinks she has what it takes to earn his attention. So these two are crossing the lines behind my back. And I can't let that happen."

"So you're saying your hot boyfriend is cheating on you?"

She wanted to slap Yeji for that question as she nagged, "Don't you dare use those words in front of me. Seokjin's too much of a scaredy-cat to end things with me. He will never cheat or choose another woman as long as I'm alive. He doesn't have that gut." She laughed wickedly after that.

Yeji smirked too for no reason as she was finally finding the fun and understanding the point. She knew Jisoo was never a loyal, committed girl anyway. She never trusted the word Love.

With a few hums and nods, she asked curiously, earning the other's attention, "Hey, what if he gets into trouble? You know you're asking me to do pretty much something big and this could...I don't know..make him lose his job?"

When Yeji expected a concerned reaction from her, Jisoo laughed again, it was a mocking, evil laugh. As if she had the best plan in her head and there was no chance to have it flop. She turned her head to look outside the busy street while keeping that cruel chuckle in her.

"Oh, don't worry. I'm not gonna do anything to my boyfriend. He's too good to let go anyway." A wicked smirk formed on her lips. "You just have to do exactly what I tell you."

----------------

Seokjin never imagined such a day would arrive at his company.

He woke up this morning with the shocking news that the public were informed about the suicide in their hotel. It was terrifying. Most of the news channel were talking about this, many reporters and journalists were gathering in front of their company and hotel, demanding answers behind his decision, already bad reviews and comments were being posted online against him and his company.

"It's been to our notice that someone leaked a crucial news about the best and most successful hotel of South Korea. Recently, a woman committed suicide in the hotel and what's surprising is there hasn't been any note found. Which means we do not know the reason behind her tragic death.

The CEO of Stardust Hotel, one of the billionaire of South Korea and also actress Kim Jisoo's boyfriend; Kim Seok Jin didn't report the death to the police or made it public. He sent the victim to her family and covered the death cleverly. Netizens find it doubtful and accuse him for her death."

It was absolutely just how he feared would happen. For his company to get blamed for no reason and be the talk of the town negatively.

"Of course he's suspicious. Who knows what happened at the hotel? Who knows one of the workers there did something to that woman? What if the CEO wanted to hide his hotel's bad publicity? It's all too obvious!"

"We don't know if a camera was set-up in the woman's bathroom and she was threatened by it. She must've killed herself for some reason! Maybe her room was haunted or the hotel didn't treat her good? Stardust Hotel shouldn't have neglected this matter at all."

Malicious comments and criticisms had been echoing inside his head all day. He had to take responsibility and overwork himself. Board meetings were conducted where he explained why he overlooked the death. If people got to know someone died in their hotel, there was a big chance they would stop using their hotel and they would suffer company lose eventually. So he kept the matter light and sent the victim to the hospital for better care. He wanted to help Stardust Hotel with a clean mind.

Not just him, everyone in the company were busy all on a sudden. All of them were apologizing and explaining on the phone on behalf of him. They themselves didn't know such an event occured in their hotel two days back so they were shocked too.

Yoon Min was practically running everywhere in the office. Attending phone calls, arranging meetings with the others, repeatedly assuring Seokjin everything will be fine, meeting the reporters with him to tell them the truth, what not. Now all she wanted to do was to find out the person who leaked the information to the public and kill him/her.

There was an extremely, heavy tension and bustling chaos everywhere in the company since morning. And no one knew when it'll stop. For they were sure, things definitely were messed up.

----------------

"I understand. Yes, yes, I'm trying." Seokjin was inside his office, walking around and talking. His mind wasn't clear and right, he was extremely annoyed and furious since the past hours. He hung up the call and sat on his chair with a loud sigh. He already attended five meetings already with the reporters, explaining about everything skillfully yet people won't stop talking bad.

He didn't realize when he had taken off his suit, loosened his tie and top button, his hair messy and sweaty after all the pressuring work for hours. His mind was boiling angry and he lost count of how many employees he yelled at today, which he never did actually. Guess anger can change people in a swift second.

Taking a look at his watch, he chose to take a five minute break to calm his mind in order to get back on his feet again. So he closed his eyes and rested his head on his desk.

Just then, she had to barge inside his office in the worst time.

"Seokjin, what is this I'm seeing in the news? You hid a suicide?" Jisoo's powerful acting was useful to her for the first time.

He lifted his head and mentally cursed at her for talking to him so rudely. He could really use some comforting words right now, but look at his girlfriend ranting.

"Jisoo, I would really like it if you leave now. This isn't the right time for you to be here."

"Hey, don't tell me to leave. You should be apologizing to me now. Do you know how my fans are firing the internet about us?"

Seokjin lost the energy and interest to keep talking with her so he remained silent.

Jisoo smiled mentally, knowing her plan was going exactly how she wished. She sighed and started talking to herself, intentionally wanting him to listen,

"Gosh, the internet's been crazy roasting you all over. I mean, even the news channel--" She took the remote and turned on the personal TV of his office, increasing the volume so that he could listen people talking bad about him and their hotel.

Eventually, she chose the channel that she was expecting to make him watch and increased the volume more. And added a few more of her fake concerns,

"Oh God, look you're on every channel. Way to go, babe. I mean if you really wanted to hide that death then you should've been more responsible."

The channel had the exact moment Jisoo was waiting for so she suddenly yelled, "Seokjin, you have to see this! I think this is woman who leaked the information."

Seokjin heard her and immediately stood up and walked towards her. Above all, he wanted to take a good look at this person who destroyed the company's future. As soon as the face came up on the TV screen, he furrowed his eyebrows, as he couldn't recognize this woman. She was talking to a reporter and telling him how she saw everything.

"Miss, could you tell us what happened regarding the suicide in Stardust Hotel?"

"Why of course! You see that night, I was coming back from the bar and I was tipsy. Not that I was drunk. I was passing the hotel where I saw an ambulance parked. It was so late at night and I did wonder a little what happened in there."

Jisoo spoke in between, "Who's she? You know her?"

He shook his head and watched the news attentively.

"But that's not all. I just minded my own business and ignored about that. Not knowing a woman would call me suddenly from the back. I turned around and found her walking towards me. She suddenly told me to go to the cops or the reporters cuz there was a suicide in the hotel and she said her boss wouldn't let her take the right actions. Man, I'm sorry I don't remember the exact dialogues but yeah, it was sort of like that and...she said if she did anything against the CEO's orders, she would get fired. So she told me to help her out by revealing everything to the public."

Seokjin had no idea what was going on he watched further,

"First I thought I was drunk that night so I imagined hell haha. But then I realized everything was true and I should help her out. But hey look, she really did tell the truth!"

Jisoo secretly took glances at his face to see his reactions. To mess with his tired mind more, she added her own theories,

"Wait, so she's saying someone else was behind this? Who could've done something like this, Seokjin? I thought you only told a few people about this."

"I d-did but--" He didn't know what to say. Who was this "she" who was there that night? Who was she that wanted to take this matter seriously? He didn't remember anyone like that. That night, only him, Manager Bang Chan, another staff and Yoon Min had known about that death. No one else. So who was this she...

Seokjin's eyes widened slowly. Fear in the form of a lightening struck him as he realized the only female there was none other than Yoon Min.

"Do you remember who the woman was, Miss?"

"Sure! She said she was the CEO's secretary. I remember her clearly because she was wearing those pretty outfits like a secretary."

That was the moment Seokjin felt a different kind of feeling towards Yoon Min. And it was nowhere near affection.
