Chapter 113

Everyone stared at Beomgyu with restless eyes until they saw what he was holding. The Thunder Sword, the only weapon built to kill guardians and demons. After Ozul Vex was burnt into ashes, the princess took the sword and preserved it safely in the castle. But now the sword was in his hands. He was glaring back at the crowd of residents in chilling silence that awoke the curiosity and fear more. He didn't step inside the hall, as if he wanted to see their reaction first.

Yoon Min and Seok Jin were surprised and taken aback at the same time. What was he doing with the sword? How did he get it? When did he walk out of the castle? It wasn't safe to use the sword by a mere guardian and none of them knew his intentions yet.

When another second passed, everyone heard the princess shouting, "Guardian Beomgyu! Why do you have the sword? How dare you touch it?"

There was no response from him, which made the situation more complicated. His action was giving the residents more reasons to be scared and start running for their lives. And it was working already. Some residents backed away from him slowly, as if the last place they wanted to stand was near him. They couldn’t be blamed, the guardian was holding the most fearsome weapon that can kill them. They stepped back, giving plenty of space for the guardian to walk forward. But he didn't.

Myeong Jo murmured to Yian, "How the hell he got the sword? I thought it was in a safe place."

It wasn't just her, most of the guardians were asking each other the same question, their gaze locked with him though. They got the hint he wasn't here on any positive motive.

Aereum strictly ordered him. "Put the sword down right now. You are not allowed to have it."

She walked down from the throne and took fast steps towards him but Nam Joon blocked her at the right moment. "Don't, Princess Aereum." He warned lowly. "I don't sense a good feeling from him."

Suddenly, Yoon Min remembered her friend Koushi's words. Beomgyu was constantly reminding the residents to fight, telling them how unfair the discrimination was. He wanted to separate her from Seokjin by spreading rumours and negativity. And let the residents play the villains while he hid from the world.

He kept trying to win her heart but she rejected him completely yesterday. With all these mixed up, he should be very furious and mad right now to hold the deadly sword with a motive to do something horrible. He neither got his memories or the girl of his dreams. He could have her if he commits one dangerous murder.

"Oh no..." She whimpered, earning Seokjin's attention. "He wants to kill you."

Right then, Beomgyu lifted the sword using both hands and swished it in the air before striking a nearby guardian's body. A gigantic force of fear attacked the residents. Nobody had time to react, they only watched how the wounded guardian wailed in panic and they finally realized he was here to murder them all. Chaos took place among the others as they screamed and started running around in search of getting out of the castle, getting away from him.

He finally walked forward and at the same time, he was scanning the area acutely, as if he wasn't here to kill people, as if he was here to kill one specific person. Whoever came in front of him, he swished the sword at them, enough to harm them or make them bleed. But he wasn't killing them.

Yoon Min realizing the circumstances, immediately pushed Seokjin behind the thick layers of a curtain and she herself joined him. It wasn't an excellent place to hide but she had no choice. He demanded to know why she was hiding him but she was too much panicked to reply him, because her mind was concentrated on her friend's actions.

Flocks of people were escaping the castle behind him. He marched towards the throne where the senior guardians and the princess stood against him, fear in their hearts but not in their eyes. They were ready to fight if needed.

"Guardian Beomgyu, stop this! Why are you doing this?" Hoseok's voice cracked in fear.

He didn't answer instead pointed the sword straight to their faces, "Where is Kim Seok Jin?"

None of them replied though they could see where he was hiding, not so far from them. They tried their best not to avert their gaze towards his hiding spot.

"I asked where he is!"

Jungkook replied quickly, "Whatever it is you want to do with him, you cannot use the sword. It's forbidden to use it for petty issues." He engaged him in a conversation, hoping this would buy enough time for his elder friend to get away.

Yoon Min receiving the hint, half-whispered to him, "Jin, you need to get out of here! He's gonna kill you. You have to--"

"I'm not running away." Seokjin was stubborn unfortunately. "I gotta stop this stupid psycho.”

Without hesitating, he came out of his hiding spot, removed the curtain and rushed towards him. She panicked and ran after him, with every intention to stop him.

“Choi Beomgyu!” He yelled, grabbing attention of everyone.

Beomgyu turned around and found the senior guardian walking straight towards him. He smirked and immediately pointed the sword directly at him. The other was stopped automatically though he was expecting the sword to be held at him.

Not hesitating even for a second, he plunged the sword straight towards him which Seokjin grabbed with his bare hands, blood dripping down instantly. The sword was indeed bloody sharpest and painful. He tried to hold it as long as he could to protect himself, but that didn’t last long.

Yoon Min appeared at the right time and with all her force, she pushed the guardian away. He staggered behind for a few steps and balanced himself before looking back at her. Honestly, he wasn't expecting her to show up right now, he thought she fled.

Then she yelled, “Stop this, Beomgyu! How can you be so cruel?!” She delicately held her lover's bloody hands, knowing it was very painful. “You are not going anywhere with this!”

The senior guardians, one by one, moved closer to him, with the intention to take the sword away from him. But Beomgyu was clever. He surprised everyone by picking up the sword and boldly striked it against them.

Jimin was the first whose arm got slashed right away as he was in front of him the most. His arm burned and blood dripped down, causing him to back away while Yoongi walked forward to fight the guardian. Beomgyu mercilessly attacked him with the sword, which caused Yoongi's hands being slashed, but he didn’t stop. Being defenseless, he still tried to stop the other, but he was already out of his mind and kept attacking him.

Taehyung realized there was no point of fighting him unless they had any weapon in their hands so he pulled Yoongi away from him and the others helped Jimin to get away from the scene. Beomgyu was unrecognizable at this moment. His eyes were burning red, eyebrows drawn together in anger and in desperation to win this.

The senior guardians backed away from the scene and Aereum roared then, “On my command, stop it, Guardian Beomgyu!” She clicked her fingers and the magical wand appeared in her hands. She pointed it at the revenge-seeking guardian, “This is your last chance. If you don't stop, I will have to force you to stop.”

To her surprise, the guardian just laughed spitefully, not caring whether this could be the end for him too. He held the sword up as a shield and replied, “Don't let me stop you.”

Aereum was done holding her patience and was about to throw the wand's power at him. But before she could, she was stopped by two bloody hands who grabbed the wand and took it away from her.

Seokjin shouted, “Come back to your senses, Princess! You can kill him with the wand!”

She looked at him with alarmed eyes. He was right. She was about to kill a guardian. That wasn’t her job as the ruler of the universe, she should be protecting every resident. He took the wand from her hands and told her to calm down.

Yoon Min, not wasting time rushed to Beomgyu and pulled the sword out of his hand and dropped it on the floor. She slapped the guardian on his face, shocking him as he couldn’t turn his head to face her. She punched his chest with her fist before crying out,

“What has gotten into you, you heartless jerk!”

Suddenly, the whole castle turned horribly silent, only the sound of her muffled, angry sobs were echoing. Her voice was thin, broken and harsh out of rage and disappointment.

“I said I don't love you! I said it a hundred times! I never loved you like you did or will I ever do in the future.” She yelled furiously. “Why do you have to start a war over this? How dare you hurt the guardians!? How dare you threaten the princess?!”

Beomgyu finally turned his head to her and his eyes were filling up with tears. They were not of sadness, but of shock. He didn’t expect her to behave like this. He stared at her face, her beautiful eyes spilling tears of disappointment and for one second, it made him guilty.

He managed to let out, “I-I'm doing this for y-you, Yoon Min...”

She cracked up a disappointing chuckle. “You're sick. You're freaking sick, Beomgyu! Think I will fall for you if you do these? Think I will love you if you take away the world's life for me?!”

When he didn’t answer, she yelled again, “Never! I will never love you the way you want me to! I told you before and I will tell you again; I love Seokjin and not even God can do anything about it. You can't make me love you even if you destroy the whole universe, you unthoughtful jerk!”

Her whole skin turned red in anger as she ended up taking a step back weakly after shouting so much. Being exhausted, she kept gasping and tears were stuck in her eyes.

Beomgyu stared at her in shock. She really said that? She will never love him back? Even after he was doing the unimaginable for her? Fury burning in him, his face contorted into a mask of anger. He didn’t like her audacity. He didn’t like she was thrashing at him. But not for long. Once he successfully kills her lover, he can finally replace him and then she would support him unconditionally.

Everything was quiet for a minute until he let out, “Not if I destroy the one you love.”

With a swift motion, he picked up the sword and knocked Yoon Min out of his way until she was thrown harshly on the ground. She was hit against a piller as she yelped in pain before falling down.

“Yoon Min!” Seokjin shouted but before he could do anything to help her, he was face to face with the revengeful guardian who didn’t hesitate to strike the sword at him. With the wand in his hands, he held it in front of him and blocked the attack of the sword, using it as a weapon. He didn’t know how to use the wand so he had to use it in his own way to protect himself.

Beomgyu was merciless and ruthless when it came to hitting him with the sword. He didn’t stop as he attacked the senior guardian in every angle. Being blocked by the wand every time, he pressed all of his energy to use the sword and at one point, he hit the wand so hard that Seokjin lost balance and dropped on the ground along with the wand.

Before he could do anything to protect himself, the revengeful guardian pointed the sword at this throat, almost poking his skin, which caused him to completely freeze and still.

Everyone present in the hall gasped in fear, but they were helpless, they could not help him anyhow. Even the princess was clueless, no idea in her head by the quick, unexpected events. She suddenly noticed the wand on the floor and quickly moved to grab it.

But Beomgyu turned around swiftly and kicked the wand far away from their place. He warned the princess boldly, “Don't you dare act smart, Princess.”

Aereum gulped down and stepped back.

By then, Seokjin was on his feet and wanted to escape. He had misunderstood the guardian, he underestimated his obsession. He never imagined this guardian will turn out to be a psychopath and attack people for a girl he liked. He should've taken it seriously. As he made a thought to run away, his back met with a pillar, rendering him helpless and fear for his life.

Beomgyu was satisfied as he held the Thunder Sword at the scared senior guardian, while everyone else stood helplessly around them, not knowing how to stop him. He was finally in control of everyone’s actions, finally he could kill this pathetic man who had taken away the woman he wanted.

Yoon Min finally gained the energy to open her eyes and found her forehead bleeding. Raising her head quickly, she gasped in fear when she saw the horrible scene where her friend pointed the sword at her husband, no mercy in his eyes. Tears dropped down her eyes as she found herself standing up on her feet and without thinking straight, she just ran.

Seokjin closed his eyes when the sharp sword poked at his throat again. He heard the vile guardian speaking, “Any last words, Seonbae?” He was clearly mocking the other.

He had no time to think of a way to save himself. He was too pressured, panicked and terrified to do so. All he knew this was it, his final death that would be considered a murder. He was going to be murdered by the hands of a envious man.

Beomgyu not hesitating pulled the sword from him, and with an uncontrollable uproar, he plunged the sword forward until it pierced through the skin and within seconds, blood spilled out and stained his clothes.

For a moment, everything remained quiet except for the sound of labored breathing that emerged from people’s heaving chest. They were shocked as if they too were stabbed by the sword as they stared at the twisted scene in front of them.

Seokjin opened his eyes, unharmed and painless. But as soon as he opened his eyes, his jaw dropped by the awfully shocked expression of Beomgyu's face. And to his utter horror, he let out a soundless frightened gasp once he saw there was a person between them.

Yoon Min was bleeding from her mouth and from her chest, as the sword was rammed inside her until her heart was stabbed. Her shaking hands were holding the sword, a mere attempt to stop it from entering inside her but it eventually did. She lost balance and dropped on the ground with the sword stuck inside her body, squirming in pain.
