Chapter 11
Yoon Min didn't waste her time during her 2nd Dream Travel. She was exploring the halls and corners, avoiding everyone's eyes so easily. She never found something so interesting as this. Giggles and soft chuckles escaped her mouth as she began going towards a certain place.
She never got to know what private conversation they had earlier. Out of major curiosity, she did go around, asking guardians what sort of relationship did Seokjin and Princess Aereum shared. None of them gave appropriate answers except for Beomgyu who claimed that both of them were rumored to be dating. Every guardian and fairy believes this as they all witnessed both of them sharing a friendly relationship with each other despite being poles apart.
As Seokjin said both of them would hang out inside the castle tonight during their dream travel, she couldn't possibly turn down his request. She was going to the same bridge again to meet up with him. That's where he would be of course.
But she was turned down when she found the bridge empty.
The smile on her lips faded away slowly like a dust faded slowly inside invisibility.
She didn't think he would be someone like them who forgot their promises and failed to keep them. To think it thoroughly, he never made a promise to her that they would hang out tonight together. So it was entirely her fault for hoping too high.
Letting out a soundless heavy sigh, she turned back, as if each ray of excitement left her pale body.
Having the intention to go back to her room, she made her way only towards the path that leads her there. She didn't want to look at other places, corners and get her curiosity up. It was surprising that the fact he wasn't there made her so upset. So upset that she didn't want to continue her power as of now. It completely made her sad to find him not keeping his word.
And again, he didn't make any promise. So it was her fault to expect too much.
"I must be so stupid." she thought to herself.
Reaching upstairs, the floor that had her room, she walked like a sleepless zombie with no hope or happiness. She must be stupid to think he would be there to hang out the night. Even after having a chit-chat with his so-called girlfriend everyone speaks of.
However, she was stopped at the sight in front of her, her feet stopped automatically. Cold wind passed through her ears, giving shivers down her body.
Yoon Min felt like her whole body was paused by some remote, controlled by someone. She couldn't move or talk or blink. She didn't know if she was overreacting or just it was indeed shocking. All she could do was stare and let out heavy breaths that only spoke of him.
She was looking at Senior Guardian Kim Seok Jin, crying at her doorstep.
The way he was hugging his knees and burying his head over them, and those soft painful weeping noises, sniffles leaving from his mouth made her whole body taken into a state of emotional breakdown. She unknowingly let out a gasp and covered her mouth. Questions ran inside her clueless mind like arrows. And there wasn't any answer for them.
His room was many floors up hers so he definitely didn't come to her room, thinking it was his. She was sure of this.
Yoon Min felt something inside the left area of her chest moving very slightly. Though she was too unattended towards herself as her mind, eyes were only on him.
The people who are good looking, we easily get attracted to them. It doesn't mean we like them. We simply like to watch their handsomeness or beauty because we admire the fact they are lucky. They are lucky to have faces we all fall for.
Yoon Min thought the same too.
The unknown strange attraction she felt with him, something like an invisible string was binding them together. She felt she was always attached with him as a result she could never walk away from him. She always felt a part of her was in him.
But there couldn't be any coincidences. No one remembered their past. No one knew who's who and whom was your own. It's very hard and tricky to answer these questions. At least, there must be a reason she always cried and heart ached whenever she was with him.
After a long time with her watching him sobbing alone on his own, she approached him very slowly. She took steady breaths, in case he heard her and got startled. Standing right in front of him, she looked down at the wide shouldered guy who looked no more than a hamster now, all cuddled inside. She sat on her knees, keeping a safe distance. Her heart was dead. Yet, she felt immerse pain seeing him crying like that. Her pain doubled, the pain of seeing him crying added to her chest. There was a strong urge inside her to take away his pain and she bore it instead. She felt her heart sink into tears looking at him being so weak, so helpless.
Before he could let down one more tear, she gently spoke up, her voice was as wet as struggled to sound gentle instead of hoarse.
"J-Jin Seonbae..."
Seokkin raised his head and that's when she felt herself gasping at his beautiful face looking so red and hurt, as if an old scar was reminding him about his deeds. His eyes grew all large and lips parted away unknowingly. It was a clear expression he was surprised. His lips turned so red and the fact he was holding a little pout made her heart sink into a limitless ocean.
There were thousand of questions inside her mind. But the one question she was craving for answer was,
"What can I do to make your pain go away?"
And that's what she did. She asked him the same question that was inside her mind without any hesitation.
Unexpected to her guess, he stood up, wiping those tears off his face and took a long heavy breath. She also stood on her feet and looked at him. Somehow, she felt something wrong was gonna happen.
Seokjin looked back at the door of her room and then at her, "Y-you weren't inside?"
Despite the hard efforts to hide his hoarse broken voice inside, he still showed he was indeed in pain.
Yoon Min answered, "No, I was roaming around."
He nodded and to her surprise, he passed by her as if nothing happened. She knitted her eyebrows together and was confused. Looking back, he was already on the highest stair.
"Seonbae, wait!"
She ran after him. The way she called him was loud enough for anyone to hear her, yet he didn't turn back. He walked ahead to only he knew. Yoon Min reached his pace and began throwing many questions at him, seeking for answers. It was getting weird and strange that he wasn't answering her.
"I told you to stop!" she held his wrist.
Her grip made him stop walking thankfully. But he didn't look back. What's gotten into him?
"Jin Seonbae, what happened? Why were you crying? And why are you leaving like this?"
He remained silent.
Yoon Min moved in front of him so that he can look right at her.
"I know something happened."
He opened his mouth to argue, "You don't have to know."
Considering his answer wasn't the way he usually talked, she still gathered up her courage and talked back,
"Well, you were in front of my door, sobbing. So I think I've a right to know what happened."
Seokjin didn't speak. He clearly looked he didn't want to talk to anyone now. His eyes were so heavy with tears that the only thing that could help him now was Sleeping. Using his other hand, he took a hold of her hand and removed it from his wrist.
He walked ahead, leaving her again.
She ran again and blocked his way as she stood in front of him boldly.
"Did I do something? You're mad at me, aren't you? You are avoiding me so openly and you thought I wouldn't notice?"
He sighed heavily.
"Is it because I saw you crying? Or maybe I did something that offended you? If I did, then I'm truly sorry for hurting you, Senior Guardian." she was near to pleading.
It was a wonder he was all happy this morning and right now, he's acting as if he didn't even know her.
Seokjin was about to walk pass her again but she wasn't giving him any chance. If he took a step to her left, she moved to his right to block him. If he moved to her right, she moved to his left. Seokjin was getting tired of her so he suddenly pushed her aside with much force by his muscular arm and walked further ahead. She almost lost balance but thankfully, she held herself from falling down.
"Jin Seonbae!" she shouted for the last time.
He just walked and walked, until he disappeared out her sight.
