MADELINE POV

I woke up to someone lovingly brushing my hair. I smiled knowing exactly who it was. 

"Good morning princess." 

I opened my eyes to see my handsome boyfriend.

"Good morning Grayson." He kissed my forehead as I embraced him.

"How long have you been awake?" Has he just been staring at me for hours? I didn't know whether to think of that as cute or creepy.

"Long enough for me to take pictures of you in your sleep. I have one as my home screen." He grabbed his phone and showed me.

There were so many images of my sleeping face. 

They weren't the most flattering pictures of me. I tried to reach for his phone but he just raised it up so I couldn't reach for it. 

"Please delete them, I look terrible." 

"You don't look terrible my love. You're the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I was tempted to kiss you in your sleep but that wouldn't be a very gentlemanly thing to do." 

I loved how sweet Grayson was. He always made me feel beautiful and loved. 

"Thank you, but wouldn't you prefer if we took a picture together for you homescreen? You know, one where I am actually awake and looking straight at the camera?" 

"Well I do like the idea of taking a picture with you. We have never taken a picture together." 

"What are you talking about? Remember Ruby's wedding where Grace practically forced us to take a picture together. I remember you really didn't want to be anywhere near me that day." 

I couldn't help but feel upset remember the time Grayson was an asshole with me. He had changed so much in so little time. 

"I'm sorry for treating you horribly for so long. I just never knew how to control my feelings for you until now. I was so scared you would hate me and be disgusted with me if you found out I love you. That day I was dying to hold you close and kiss those soft lips of yours. You looked so beautiful and sexy in that red dress it was tempting not to confess to you then and there and make you mine." 

I was utterly shocked. I was well aware of Grayson's feelings towards me, but to think that those were his feelings then as well kinda surprised me. I always thought he despised me but boy was I utterly mistaken. 

He hugged me, encasing my body with his larger one. 

1 Year Earlier

I had just finished getting ready for Ruby's wedding. She was Ian's younger sister who was just about to get married today. 

As I walked downstairs to meet up with the others I bumped into Grayson. It appeared he was about to barge in my room like always.

He eyed me up and down. 

"Why do you have to take so long to get ready! We're gonna be late because of you!" 

I hated how much of an ass Grayson was. Everyone else has just finished getting ready, including him. He just wanted to make an excuse to yell at me again. 

I just ignored his rudeness and walked past him. 

He forcefully pulled me back wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Don't ignore me Madeline." 

More than anything I knew he hated it when I ignored him. It was like he annoyed me to get attention from me. 

"Let go of me Grayson!" I told him.

"Make me!" 

"What?" Why the hell was he messing with me so much today! What did I do to deserve this annoying man.

"I said make me!" 

"I am not going to play this game Grayson. So please just let me go!" I tried pulling myself away from him but he tightened his grip on my body. 

"Kiss me and I'll let you go."

"Like hell I'm going to do that!" What was wrong with him? This was borderline harassment. 

"Well then I guess we're just going to stay here forever then." He smirked. 

I tried pushing him away but he wouldn't budge. I hated how strong he was. It made me feel powerless.

"Grayson please just let me go. I know you hate me so that gives you more reason to leave me alone. I doubt you would want to be near me any longer." 

Hopefully with these words he would snap out of it and let me go. 

"You're mistaken. Because I despise you I need to be around you at all times so that I can make your life miserable." 

Well he was doing a great job at it right now. 

"Just kiss me and this will all be over." 

I hated that I would have to kiss this asshole. Once I did it he would win.

I stared at Grayson's lips wondering how exactly I would do this. I had never kissed anyone before. 

Then I looked up at Grayson to see a nervous look on his face. 

I wondered why he looked tense all of a sudden. I began to lean in hoping this kiss would be over fast. 

But suddenly Grayson let go of me and turned around. I was honestly surprised by his sudden actions.

"Just go!" He sounded somewhat irritated. 

I decided to leave before he got any more angry with me. As I reached downstairs I met up with Ian and Grace.

"You look so beautiful Madeline." Grace was always very sweet to me.

"Thank you, you also look gorgeous in that dress. You're a lucky one Ian."

"I agree. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky to have such a wonderful woman by my side." Ian pulled Grace towards him and they shared a passionate kiss. 

They were truly a beautiful couple. Grace always presented herself with such elegance and Ian was a serious yet kind man. They were a very attractive couple indeed which made sense why Jack and Grayson turned out so handsome.

Talk of the devil, Grayson had just walked in.

"Are we going to leave soon? I'm starving!" Grayson always seemed irritable with me yet when it came to his parents he was extremely sweet. 

"Yes we are. But first I want to take a picture of you two." 

Grace looked so excited as she grabbed her phone from her purse. 

"Alright kids get close to each other." 

Oh no, this meant I had to get closer to the creep. I decided to comply since I didn't want to make Grace upset.

I walked over to Grayson and wrapped my arm around his. This would look more natural for the picture and we could get this over with quicker. 

Surprisingly Grayson didn't make a rude remark. In fact he grabbed my arm and placed it behind his back while he wrapped his arm around my waist. It felt more like a pose for a couple but at least he wasn't nagging at me.

"You two look amazing! I can't wait to get these printed." 

Grace always loved to save family pictures. 

I moved away and walked out of the house following Ian and Grace. Today would surely be a weird day.

BACK TO PRESENT TIME

"I am so happy you're finally mine. I waited so long for this." 

We laid in bed for a while feeling each others warmth. I never thought how enjoyable just laying in bed with your loved one could be. I wished time could stop now in this beautiful moment.

"We should probably get up now. What time do you need to be at school?" 

The big football game was today and Grayson needed to be at school before the actual game began in order to warm up and change.

"The game starts at 7 but I need to be there by 6 to prepare. Although I really don't want to be early because then I won't be with you." He held me tighter and kissee my head. 

Grayson hated being apart from me. To be honest I felt the same way. Ever since we started dating, we have been inseparable.

"Fine, I will be there a bit early so I can wish you good luck." 

I looked up at Grayson and gave him a kiss on the cheek. 

"I love you" He said surprising me. 

After cuddling and kissing for some time we finally got up. I headed over to my room to put on a cute outfit for the day and Grayson changed in his room.

We headed downstairs and began to make breakfast. Grayson decided to make waffles today so I helped him make the batter. 

This all felt too good to be true. 

We finished making food and we sat down in the dining room.

I sat down thinking about what would become of us after high school. We had planned to go to the same school since we both wanted to be business majors. Grayson's father had many companies around the world. The Lockwood family was extremely wealthy because of it. Not to mention Grace's family was equally as wealthy.

Therefore Grayson or Jack were expected to take over the company. Jack was still in University but he would surely start working for Lockwood Enterprises, Grayson surely wouldn't be left behind. 

As for me, I hadn't really thought about what I planned to do after University. Maybe I could do an internship at Ian's company. Although I hoped I would be able to explore a passion of mine and make a living off of something I loved doing.

"What's wrong my love?" Grayson kissed my forehead and then held my hand. 

I loved how sweet this man was. 

"I'm just thinking about what's going to happen to us after high school. I mean I know were going to the same University but I just…" 

I couldn't finish the sentence. I was truly worried about our relationship in the following years. What would become of us, would be break up. If we ever did things would be extremely awkward between us. I I thought things were bad before, they would be even worse if we ever broke up.

"Your worried about relationships in the years that come right?" 

I just looked at him and nodded my head.

I hated being so attached to Grayson. Attaching to people and things would only cause you more pain when it was gone. I was positive I had loved my father at some point. Seeking his approval was all I ever wanted. After my mother and I left him I had realized I had also lost my father that night. I guess I was just worried about losing Grayson like I lost my father.

"My love, I am never going to leave you. I am crazy about you Madeline, you have no idea. I honestly worry that you will leave me. I know you don't love me as I love you, but I am working everyday to show how much you mean to me. I just hope one day you can tell me you love me." 

I hugged Grayson feeling happy. He always knew how to cheer me up ever since we were kids. 

After eating, we headed out to central park. It was a great place to take a stroll. As soon as we arrived we held hands and began to walk around. 

There were lots of families and couples all around. Some people were walking their dogs which I appreciated since I could see these peoples adorable pets.

Grayson must have noticed me looking at the adorable dogs because he asked me if I wanted one.

"Would you like me to get you a puppy? I know you've always wanted one." 

I looked up at Grayson with excitement.

"Thank you, but I don't think that would be a good idea right now. I mean we're leaving for University soon and I am positive they don't allow dogs in dorm rooms." 

"Who says we will live in a dorm. I have been thinking about this since we started dating. How would you like for us to get an apartment together. It can be near the University and that way we can still be together. I love waking up by your side babygirl. It would be so hard for me not be by your side everyday. Especially since I am so used to living with you. We have been practically doing it our entire lives." 

I was excited and happy to think that Grayson and I could get our own place together. Although as great as that sounded I didn't have that kind of money to afford an apartment.

"That sounds like an amazing idea Grayson. I would love it if we could continue to live together but I just don't feel like I would have the money for that. I am lucky that I got a scholarship from the University and your parents have been a huge help. Maybe it would be best if we left things that way." 

I knew Grayson would say he could pay the rent himself, but I hated to think I wouldn't be able to do anything to help the man I love. The Lockwood family had been so caring for me all these years when they didn't have to. I always felt like a burden to them, I didn't want to impose on any of the family members, no matter if Grayson was my boyfriend. 

"My love please don't worry about that. I have been working part time at mg dad's company and I get paid pretty well. I have been saving for a while and I finally know what I can use my money for. I really want this for us." 

I could tell how excited and happy Grayson was about this. 

"I.." 

Grayson immediately caught the hesitation in my voice.

"I know you won't say yes. So how would you like if I talked with my dad about getting you a job at his company. That way we can work together and well be able to afford a place for ourselves. In this way we can kill two birds with one stone." 

Grayson was so cute. He was really trying to find ways to convince me.

"Ok fine, I agree. But I will talk with Ian about it." 

"That's fine by me." Grayson and I embraced one another as we shared a passionate kiss.

His hands roamed around my body as they went under my shirt. I noticed how he always needed to touch my bare skin to feel satisfied. His tongue began to play with mine and the intensity of the kiss began to speed up. I felt him grab my ass as he massaged it. He then held my butt tightly and began to press it against his hard manhood. I began to moan under the kiss and it was then that I realized we were going a bit overboard. 

I moved back and regained my breath. Luckily Grayson stopped and also tried to calm down.

We were at a park for crying out loud. Luckily we were in a rather secluded area of the park so no one saw us making out. 

"We should probably head back home. It's almost 6 and you need to get ready for tonight's game." 

Grayson kissed my hand and we walked back to the car. My heart was still beating fast from our intense kiss, but I tried to calm down. 

We arrived home and pretty soon I was kissing Grayson goodbye. It was already 6 and Grayson needed to be at school by that time to prepare.

I decided to touch up my makeup and change into a dress. I wanted to surprise Grayson with a cute look, he would surely appreciate the dress. He always told me how he loved it when I wore them.

The game was almost starting so I decided to use Grayson's car and head to school. His friend had picked him up so Grayson said I could use his car. He planned to take us home after the event was over so it all worked perfectly. 

I had finally arrived to school and I walked over to the large field. There were so many students sitting down in the benches. Before I looked for a seat I needed to find Grayson.

Finally I spotted him. He stood in a section of the field with his other teammates. I walked over to them hoping I wouldn't get in trouble. As I got near the spot Grayson saw me and immediately smiled. He talked to his coach, probably asking him if he could come over and talk to me. Luckily he agreed and Grayson ran to me. 

He hugged me and then we kissed. Grayson seemed so happy and excited. It was my first time coming to a school game to watch him. I wasn't a big fan of the sport so I never felt the need to go and watch. I also wasn't in good terms with Grayson before so I thought he wouldn't really have cared. 

"I'm so happy your here tonight! I have always wanted you to come and watch me at one of my games." 

"I just thought you wouldn't have cared back then. You always seemed annoyed whenever I was around. But now that I know your true feelings I would never miss your football games." 

This was the last football game but I hoped he understood what I was trying to say. 

"I'm so sorry for being such an ass back then. I know I'm not perfect but I love it when your around me. I've always dreamed of you looking at me from the benches over there and just cheering me on. I know that once I see that beautiful smile of yours I can do the impossible." 

"Aren't you the charmer." I have Grayson a quick peck on the lips and I told him I needed to go and find a seat. 

He didn't want me to go so soon but the game would be starting and I didn't want him to be late because of me. He was the team captain after all.

I found Lisa and her boyfriend. Lisa waved over at me to sit next to her and before I knew it the game started. I didn't understand football but when the crowd cheered I did the same. 

The game went on for a while and it seemed like our school was winning. It felt so cool seeing my boyfriend in action. I had never seen him play football but he really seemed to enjoy it.

Finally the game was over and the crowd went wild. We were screaming and clapping because our school had actually won. Grayson was lifted up by his teammates as they cheered for him with the trophy in his hand. I was so happy for him as team captain. He was able to lead them to victory. 

People began to head out to their homes and prepare for the school trip tomorrow. I was so excited I had already packed since last week. Although some seniors planned to go to a party after this. 

I just hoped to go back home with Grayson, snuggle up in bed and watch a cute movie together.

I checked my phone and noticed a text from Grayson.

 Meet me in the parking lot. I'm gonna change quickly and I'll be there soon my love!

He was so cute! I decided to do just that. Lisa left with her boyfriend and I walked to the parking lot. As I arrived I saw Dylan staring at me as he stood beside Grayson's car. 

I decided to walk over to him. I wondered if he wanted to talk.

"Hey" Is all I said. Things had ended kinda bad last time so I felt nervous talking to him right now. I felt so bad for hurting him. 

He simply smiled back.

"You look beautiful in that dress." 

"Thank you" I smiled. 

"Look Dylan I really want to apologize about how things ended between us. It was never my intention to hurt you. I really do care about you." 

I really valued his friendship. When we were together I always felt like I could talk to him about everything. 

"It's alright you don't need to apologize. I had a feeling you and Grayson had a thing for each other. I guess I kinda hoped I would win your heart first." 

He looked so sad. 

"Look, can we still be friends. I really want things to go back to the way they were." I really hoped we could still be friends.

"I don't want to be your friend Madeline. I want you as my woman."

Before I could react, Dylan moved closer to me and kissed me. 

I immediately pushed him back. 

"What the hell Dylan! I have a boyfriend!" Now I was upset. He knew I was already in a relationship. 

Dylan suddenly looked scared. I wondered why? I then looked back and realized why he was uneasy, Grayson stood behind me clearly furious about what he had just witnessed.
