MADELINE POV

Today was an important day. I was going to tell Ian and Grace about my relationship with Grayson. Although I was excited to be open about it with them. They truly meant the world to me, and I saw them like parental figures. 

I couldn't help but worry. What if they disliked it? 

I quickly got up and began to get ready for the day. As soon as I was satisfied with my outfit, I headed downstairs to have breakfast with everyone. 

I sat next to Grayson and we all ate. I felt someone touch me and I realized Grayson was trying to hold my hand. I bit my lip as I tried not to smile. He was so cute! 

I quickly interlaced fingers with him.

"There's something important that I need to talk to you two about." I said it. The day had finally come and I was content. 

Before I could say more someone rang the doorbell. 

"Oh that might be William. I apologize dear but can we talk about this later? I don't want to leave poor William waiting." 

I immediately froze and simply agreed without thinking. 

Ian and Grace walked to the door to greet William. Grayson and I stood up and I gave him an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry" I whispered as we made it to the door.

Grayson simply said it was ok. But I could tell he was sad. 

"It's so nice to see you again Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood. " WIlliam hugged both Grace and Ian.

He was tall with blonde hair. The manner in which he acted was very respectfully and gentlemanly which was common among the children of wealthy families. His British accent had charmed me before but now I had a boyfriend who I loved dearly.

I couldn't even believe I was saying this, but I love Grayson. 

As soon as William looked at me, he gave me a bright smile. He immediately walked over to me and embraced me tightly.

"It's been so long Madeline. You're beautiful as always." 

I gave him a hug and simply thanked him.

"Thank you. Yeah it really has been a while." I said.

I couldn't dare look at Grayson. I was positive he was angry at seeing another man flirt with me.

William and Grayson simply shook hands and we all headed over to the dining room. One of the maids brought William a plate of food and we all continued to eat.

"I hear you want to become a doctor William. You've been accepted to one of the best schools for doctor's in England. Is that true?" Grace asked.

"Yes it is. My mother must have told you I presume." 

"I did talk with your mother about you. She's very proud of you." 

William had always wanted to become a doctor. He had always wanted to help people. 

"That's amazing William. You've always wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember." 

"I can't believe you still remember our conversation from when we were kids." 

"How could I forget. You were very enthusiastic about it." I smiled.

Suddenly Grayson stood up and left. 

"Is he not feeling ok?" Grace asked. 

Grayson might have been upset that I didn't confront his parents about our relationship yet. 

"I'll go check on him." 

I ran upstairs to catch up to him. Luckily I was able to reach to the top before he went inside his room.

"Grayson wait!" I said.

He grabbed my hand and led me to his bedroom.

"I'm sorry Grayson. I know I promised I would tell Ian and Grace today about our relationship but then William arrived so I…." Before I could finish my sentence, Grayson began to speak.

"It's him that I don't like! He's smitten with you and we both know it. Seeing you two talk about the past like that just irritated me. I'm jealous Madeline. I'm crazy jealous about him and you possibly being together, because I'm in love with you Madeline. I've known this for a long time, but I'm very possesive of you. I don't want William or any man to take you away from me."

Grayson looked upset, irritated, and almost sad. He turned around trying to calm himself down. He was clearly agitates from all of this.

I walked over to him and hugged him from behind. 

"You don't have to worry about losing me Grayson. I care for William like a friend but that's it. You're the one I love Grayson. I see you as a man. No one and nothing will ever break us apart." 

I hadn't realized how scared he was to lose me. I would probably have been jealous as well if I saw a girl flirting with Grayson and she didn't know I was dating him.

Grayson turned around and we shared a sweet and gentle kiss. 

"Thank you my love. You always know how to calm me down." He kissed my hands and we walked hand in hand downstairs.

"Are you ready?" He asked me.

"Yes, let's do this." I said before heading inside the living room.

Everyone stared at us, clearly surprised from their expressions.

"Mom, Dad, I have been madly in love with this beautiful women and it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I was man enough  to confess my true feelings for her. I'm in a relationship with Madeline and I wish for your blessing." 

My heart was beating fast with worry. Grayson gave my hand a light squeeze as a form of reassurement that everything was going to be alright. 

Grace stood up and hugged us both.

"I'm so happy for the both of you. I've always suspected it since you were children but I wasn't too sure." 

As soon as she said that I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. 

I suddenly felt tears in my eyes and I realized I crying tears of joy.

"What's wrong my love?" Grayson asked.

"I'm just happy that we finally told them the truth. Now we won't have to hide our relationship." 

Grayson gave me a tight hug followed by a gentle kiss on my forehead.

I smiled at him and then I hugged both Ian and William who congratulated Grayson and I.

"It seems I was too late. But take good care of her Grayson, or else I'll take her away from you." William gave me a wink. 

Grayson didn't seem to like that too much and immediately pulled me towards him with his arm wrapped around my waist. 

"That will never happen because I'm going to take good care of Madeline." 

"You better." Ian and Grace said in unison.

It felt like they were my parents taking care of their only daughter. 

Soon after that we all headed out to central park to get some fresh air. Tomorrow was a big day after all. 

As soon as we arrived, William, Ian, and Grace went their own way, giving both Grayson and I some space. 

We walked hand in hand like a loving couple. Suddenly we stopped. Grayson pulled me next to a bench and we sat down.

He pulled something out of his pocket and took out a ring.

"I have loved you since we were children Madeline. Seeing your face each day brings me so much joy. I am satisfied with my life as long as I have you. I know this isn't the real thing but I want you to have this promise ring. I know that someday you will definitely be my wife and you will be known as Mrs. Lockwood." 

Grayson put the ring on me and then gently wiped of my tears with his hands. 

We shared a passionate kiss and I rested my head beside him as we watched people pass by, the beautiful trees and the chirping birds. 

I wish time would have stopped in that very moment. But tomorrow we would officially be starting our new lives as adults. We had so much more to go through together. I was scared but very excited to grow as a person and mature with Grayson. 

It began to get late and we all decided to get back home.

As soon as we arrived at the mansion we saw Jack with his girlfriend. They had also just gotten here.

We all gave him and his girlfriend a hug. She was a beautiful woman whom Jack had met at the University he was studying at. 

We all headed inside and talked about our childhood. Grace even brought out some old videos from all of us. 

"You were so adorable as a child." I told Grayson. 

"Oh really, then what about now? What am I know Madeline?" Grayson gave me a smirk. 

"You're already very conceited Mr.Lockwood. What could I possibly say that you don't already know?" I said in a playful tone.

"Touche" 

I couldn't help but giggle at his clearly unhappy face that I didn't actually say he was handsome or hot now. 

We all headed to the dining room and had a quick dinner. Jack and his girlfriend Kennedy said their goodbyes and we all headed to our rooms.

Tomorrow was graduation day meaning there was a lot to prepare. Grace had hired a makeup and hairstylist to get me ready for the graduation ceremony. I also couldn't wait to see my mother again.

I laid in Grayson's bed with my head resting on his chest. He had practically begged me to sleep with him tonight. Especially now since our relationship didn't need to be kept a secret anymore. 

"I can't wait for us to get our own apartment and sleep like this every night. I love you Madeline." Grayson kissed my head and hugged me tightly. It felt great being in his arms. He made me feel safe and protected. 

"I love you too Grayson." I answered him. 

We soon fell asleep in each other's arms.
