jaemin was devastated.

when jeno had come to him on saturday, he hadn't expected at all that he was going to tell him he was about to ask renjun out. jeno was way too uncomfortable for that. they had known each other for so long, and jaemin had learned that jeno wasn't the type to ask people out at all. he wasn't even looking forward to being in a relationship. so why renjun? and why now?

yes, jaemin had caught feelings for renjun.

of course, he had, who wouldn't?

renjun is cute, funny and so kind. he had brought love in jaemin's life.

but now, he was jeno's boyfriend. in other words, his best friend's boyfriend. and that meant that he could never ever (stan got7) call renjun his boyfriend?

why? simple: the bro code. you can't love your best friend's boyfriend, and if they break up, you can't get together. it's something very clear in jaemin's mind, and even though he really wants to break it, he can't.

but, that's not the worst part of it... jaemin had started to look at jeno in a different way. what hurt him in jeno and renjun's relationship wasn't the fact that jeno was with renjun and that he was jealous about it. he was hurt because he knew perfectly that he could never be with the two of them: jeno was his best friend, and the biggest bro code rule is NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND. well, jaemin hadn't done it on purpose, but he had broken that very important rule... he had fallen in love with his best friend, and with his best friend's boyfriend...

on wedensday afternoon, he hadn't wait for jeno to finish his practise: at the end of classes, he had got back to his house directly to cry alone in his room.

however, he was disturbed in the evening by a boy he didn't want to see at all...

"jaemin? are you okay?"

jeno had knocked on the door and opened it to discover his best friend, sitting on his bed, tons of tissues surrounding him and eyes red and puffy.

the younger didn't answer his question and continued watching the cartoon that the tv was playing.

jeno approached the boy very carefully. "j-jaemin? what's the problem?"

the sad boy looked at his best friend. "nothing."

"have you seen your state? i'm sure it's not nothing..." jeno was saddened at the sight. he cared for jaemin, and seing him in this stated only made him want to hug him very tight and kiss his tears away. why kiss? well, he didn't know either, but that wasn't the main problem.

"jaemin, please tell me what's the problem. i can help you... i don't like seing you in that state..."

jaemin rose to his feet and faced jeno, leaving very little space between their bodies.

"what's the problem? you want to know what's the problem?" jaemin started crying again, making jeno want to take the boy in his arms. "the problem is that i like renjun, and that he's your boyfriend. see? you can't do anything about it."

jeno stayed glued to his spot, eying nothing, just thinking about jaemin's words. so jaemin liked renjun as well, and jeno was so selfish he couldn't even notice it.

without saying goodbye, he ran away.

jaemin on his side got back to his previous spot, on his bed, eyes wet again, and heart broken. he would never tell jeno that he liked him, because, seeing the pain jeno was in when jaemin told him he liked renjun, jeno would never forgive him if jaemin tried to tell him that he had feelings for him.
