Author's Note
I am proud to say that I have read the Harry Potter series 7 times. That's right; 7 wonderful, beautiful times I was able to drool over the description, dream about Cedric Diggory, wish a thousand times Hermione was my best friend, and convince myself that my owl that contained my letter to Hogwarts is lost at sea in Siberia.
Because for every time I read Harry Potter it got better and better, and even though I knew every sentence by heart, prepared myself with tissues whenever I approached a part where a character died, and died inside when Cedric spoke, I was blown away every time by J.K. Rowling's description and beautiful voice.
She has a magical way with words, a way that can make me hallucinate for hours on end (a.k.a. read), transport me to a world full of magic and terror and adventures and make me cry, which is a hard thing to do.
So when I finally put down the seventh book for the last time, I logged onto my Wattpad account and instantly knew that I simply just had to write a fan fiction in honor of all that J.K. did for me. That very night, after I chatted my siblings and parents ears off about my idea for my book, I went upstairs, turned up my playlist and got to writing.
And it wasn't easy. I was originally afraid that no one would take my writing seriously because all the books I've written were fan-fictions, which to some people are considered "not real books." But that fear was soon discouraged, because the day after I published Love To Hate You, I already had five votes.
Because I have the most amazing and incredible readers and followers ever, I decided to dedicate this book to all of you. For always believing in me and encouraging me to do my best, which I try with all my might to do to you.
I bet you didn't know that Joanne Rowling had to shorten her name to J.K. Rowling because at the time she was writing Harry Potter women authors were often discouraged. And that over 20 publishers rejected her book. But she proved them wrong and made it out there. She went from a young, poor writer with only a dream and a pencil to the most successful author in the history of author's.
Let this be a lesson to you all that you can make out there; every time you have to drag yourself up the stairs to update, every time you get a hate comment or someone try's to bring you down, remember J.K. Rowling, and how she made her dreams come true.
Wattpad is an app full of dreams, and I'm so excited to cheer you on when you fulfill yours.
