You're One Cocky Bastard
"Olivia!" A voice hissed, shaking my relaxed body. "Olivia, wake up!"
"Mmm, five more minutes, mum," I mumbled turning on my other side in my bed.
"Olivia, please wake up!" The voice whispered more frantically. "It's an emergency!"
I took in a sharp breath then let out a loud groan. Sitting up in my bed, I stretched out, before falling back into a slouching position.
"What's up?" I mumbled rubbing my eyes.
"I need you to take me to the Hospital Wing," the voice, I now recognized as Ginny's whispered.
Opening my eyes, I could see that the sun was only just rising, so it must be around 6:30. But right in front of me was Ginny. Her usually straight red hair was a bit ruffled up, and although her eyes were wide, bags hung under them.
"And why's that?" I asked cocking an eyebrow.
"It hurts right here," she said, rubbing her abdomen. "And... I-I think I pooped my pants."
Even with the small amount of light coming through the window, I saw her cheeks turn a faint pink.
I smiled softly at her.
"Gin, you're not sick," I chuckled getting out of bed.
"I'm not?" She asked.
I shook my head while pulling open a drawer on the bedside table next to my bed. "No, Gin. You've just gotten your period."
"No, a period is when you have blood pour out of your vagina like a waterfall," she whispered, obviously embarrassed talking about it. "Blood is red, not brown."
"Ahh, young innocent, Ginevra. Being raised with boys has not helped you in any way," I chuckled pulling out a pad. "Let's say there has been blood sitting in your vagina for a few weeks or days, would it still be red?"
"Umm, I guess not," she agreed softly, blushing very hard.
"Gin, don't worry, I'm like your older sister," I sighed leading her to the bathroom in my room. "You don't have to be embarrassed."
"I know, but it's so awkward," she admitted.
"Eh, after you've had your first one it's not as awkward. I mean look at me! I'm here giving you wisdom and pads," I laughed handing her the pad.
She took the pad and smirked. "Well, you also like to have people stalk your crush for you so you shouldn't be talking."
I blushed. "Just go change yourself, Bloody Mary."
"Can you get me a fresh pair of underwear?" She asked me.
"Fine," I sighed walking back to my bed. I pulled my wand out from under my pillow. "Accio underwear."
Seconds later, a pair of black underwear flew into the room towards me. I grabbed it then headed back into the bathroom.
"Here's your black laundre," I snickered, tossing her the underwear.
She blushed intensely and rushed into the stall.
"Hey, since we are on the puberty subject," I started.
"Oh god," Ginny cut in nervously.
"Do you need any bras?" I asked sitting on the sink.
"Umm... no," she said awkwardly. "And even if I did, I wouldn't be able to fit into those jug holders you have."
"Okay, just asking. No need to get snarky," I defended. "And they aren't even that big."

"Hey, A'liv," George and Lee said when I entered the deserted Great Hall.
Fred looked up and smiled. "Hi."
"Hello boys," I said taking a seat next to Fred who was across from Lee and George. I saw they were all writing stuff and had a few open textbooks. "Holy crap, are you three studying? Without it being assigned?"
They all looked at each other and laughed.
"Yeah, I knew it couldn't be true," I chuckled bore looking over Fred's shoulder to get a better look at what was written on the parchment. "What are you three doing then?"
"We are trying to figure out how to make ourselves a couple months older," George told me.
"Oh, so you two were serious about that, huh?" I mused as a buttered a piece of toast.
Last night, Dumbledore announced how Hogwarts will be hosting the Triwizard Tournament. The schools of Dumbstrang and Beauxbotons will be here as our guests during the tournament. In this tournament, one champion is picked from each school but they have to be over the age of seventeen to enter.
This really got on the twins nerves especially since the prize is a trunk load of money. There was no doubt that the prize money would be enough for the three of us to open our prank shop. It had been a dream of ours since we first discovered Zonkos. We are still working on names for the shop, but I think it's going to be something along the lines of Reid's & Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes. I know what you're thinking, how did persuade the two most stubborn men in the world? Easy, I explained how their last name would sound better next to Wizarding Wheezes... and I may have threatened them with the fact that I've got an O in Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms.
"Are the three of us serious about opening a joke shop?" George asked.
"Well, yeah-"
"Then yes, we are serious about entering the tournament," Fred said flipping through some pages in his book.
"Alright then," I sighed. "So what exactly are you doing?"
"Looking for a potion that will make them older by a few months," Lee said rubbing his head of short hair. I remember when he had dreadlocks, but then he shaved them off. Personally, I like him better without the dreadlocks.
"You're not going to try to enter?" I asked Lee while chewing on my toast.
"Nah, too risky," he admitted.
"Do you want to try to enter with us?" The twins asked me.
I shook my head. "Nope, Dominic and Court are going to enter."
"So?" Lee asked.
"So," I explained, "if I get chosen and not them I will feel guilty because I know that they should have gotten it more them me. Plus, they would so rat me out to my parents."
"I don't exactly understand," Lee said.
"You don't have siblings, so you won't understand," George, Fred, and I said.
"I hate when you three do that, its weird," Lee admitted looking back into his book.
"Well, that sucks, cause we love doing it," the three of us said before laughing.
Soon enough, Alicia joined us, sitting next to Lee, and we all had a normal breakfast. Laughing and enjoying each others company. That was till she came.
"Hey, Fred," Angelina said.
"Angelina, what took you so long?" Alicia asked, spooning some eggs into her mouth. "You were up before me."
"I had to do my makeup, duh," Angelina said sitting down on the other side of Fred.
"Jeez, how much do you need to cover up," I questioned softly.
Fred elbowed me in the ribs.
"Well, would you want anyone to see your acne?" Angelina snapped.
"I don't really have any," I shrugged.
"That's probably cause you use that acne potion stuff," She presumed.
I rolled my eyes at her. "That's way too advanced for me. What can I say? I just don't get acne."
"That's not possible, everyone gets acne," Angelina huffed.
"Your right, I do get a small pimple or zit every couple of months," I rolled my eyes. "But you know what probably contributed to my clear face? The fact I wash it twice every day with a specific face wash-"
"I do that!" She said.
"-and I also don't put on make-up," I finished taking a bite of bacon.
"What?" Angelina said her mouth dropping. "You can't not wear make-up! I mean when you look so... It's impossible!"
"I'm just going to take that as a compliment," I smiled looking at her slightly frustrated face.
"Alicia, you can't tell me she's telling the truth!"
"It's the truth," Alicia said.
"Yeah," Fred said. "Liv doesn't like how make-up is like making up your beauty. Plus she doesn't like how it feels."
"The only kind of make up you'll catch on me is mascara, see," I told Angelina opening my eyes widely to show her the mascara on my eyelashes.
"It's like you're not even a girl," she growled.
Everyone gasped.
Other people have said this to me but it was more of a joke and I would jokingly agree with them. But I'm taking this the wrong way.
"Angelina!" Fred hissed.
"Excuse me," I laughed without a smile. "I'm sorry if my opinion on make-up isn't the same as yours, but that gives you no right to say that. There's no handbook for girls, for your information. And if there was, you'd be labeled underneath bit-"
"Olivia, let's go," Alicia said sternly.
"But-"
"We are going," she repeated harshly, standing up.
"Fine," I growled.
I got up and followed Alicia down to the end of the table. When we were finally next to each other, she grabbed my arm and began to pull me out of the Great Hall.
"Wait, we can't leave yet. I need my timetable," I pointed out in annoyance.
"Well you're just in luck," she said nodding to Professor McGonagall who made her way over to us.
"Miss. Reid," she mumbled looking through a bunch of papers before pulling on one and handing it to me.
"Miss. Spinnet," McGonagall mumbled again, going through the same process she had just gone through.
"Have a good day," she told us before nodding and walking behind the two of us.
The two of us walked into the courtyard and sat down on the stone ledges as we reviewed out timetables.

"Let me see yours," Alicia said looking over my shoulder.
"Here," I said, handing her my own sheet.
"Same except I have Arithmancy when you have a free period on Thursday and our Potions and Herbology are switched," She told me.
I smiled at her, but it soon whipped away from an incoming thought. "What if Angelina and I have the same exact schedule?"
"I doubt it...," Alicia said. "She would have to take the same exact classes as you. Which she doesn't because she takes Arithmancy and Ancient Runes and doesn't take Care for Magical Creatures."
I nodded. "Okay, good... Wait, how do you know what she's taking?"
"She was telling Emilie McBride this morning. Her voice was so damn loud I think the boys heard her from their dorm," Alicia said with annoyance.
"Ahh, I remember when you use to be best friends with those two," I chuckled.
Emilie, Alicia, and Angelina were best friends from first to the end of our third year. They were that group of giggling, hormonal tweens. During that time, I was more like a boy. Constantly hanging out with three troublesome boys, hair constantly in a ponytail, and a foul temper.
At the beginning of our third year, Alicia had joined the Quidditch team and became a bit closer to the twins. And if you become close with the twins, you become close with me. I was a bit hesitant with her at first knowing how much of a girly-girl she was, but it wasn't till her falling out with her group did I fully trust her.
"We should start heading to the dorms to get our books. We don't exactly want to be late to our first class of the year," Alicia noted.
"No, you don't want to be late, 'Licia," I laughed jumping off the stone ledge.
"Shut it," Alicia chuckled rolling her eyes as we walked back to the dorms.
On our way back, there was something about Alicia's height next to mine that made me wonder. She had always been shorter than me by about two inches, but now she seemed a little shorter.
"Alicia?" I questioned as we stood on the moving staircase.
"Yes?"
"Do you... Do you think I got taller?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
She looked over at me with a glare, making me stand up straighter.
"Look! Don't I seem taller?"
"Yes, Olivia, you probably got taller," Alicia said in a mocking tone. "Because Giants never stop growing."
"Stop relating me to Giants!" I laughed slapping her arm.
"Fine, fine," she laughed.
The staircase stopped moving and we both walked up to the platform. In front of us was the fat lady who I've grown to like.
"Hello girls," she smiled at us.
"Hi," Alicia replied.
"Sup," I said.
She studied the two of us for a second before saying. "Olivia, I think you grew a bit over the holidays."
I grinned widely. "I was just saying that to Alicia."
Alicia rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "Balderdash," she grumbled.
The fat lady gave a smirk while looking away from the two of us. However, I had a huge cocky grin on and stood up straight.
The painting swung open and we walked in, heading over to the girls' dormitory.
Alicia didn't have to look at me to sense my smirk. "You're one cocky bastard."
I gasped and placed a hand over my heart, a look of fake hurt sketched on my face. "That hurts, Alicia!"
She rolled her eyes and trudged up the stairs to our room. "I swear you're just like Fred. If possible, even more then George is like Fred... and that's saying something."
I blushed deeply. Thankfully, it was something I kept to myself since she was in front of me.
We walked into our room and found Emilie and Angelina gathering their things, smirks etched into their faces. They both looked over at us, and those smirks were gone before you could blink. Instead, their smiles were replaced with looks of disgust. Then they grabbed their bags of books and headed out of the room, their noses held up high.
Alicia looked over at me just as I at her, exchanging the look in which caused both of us to break out laughing.
I sat up the same time Alicia did and wiped a fake tear from my eyes. "Oh, those bitches are in for a year."
~
I elbowed George who was sitting next to me in Defense Against the Dark Arts. He slightly turned his head to look at me, an eyebrow raised.
First I pointed to a straw in my hand then directed his attention to Lee and Alicia, who sat in front of us. The couple kept poking each other giggling and whispering flirts with one another. George smirked and nodded.
I ripped a piece of loose leaf paper, rolled it into a ball, and put it in my mouth. Then I held the straw up to my lips before loading the ammo into the launcher.
"Miss. Reid, I advise you drop your straw unless you would like a detention," A low voice growled.
I looked up and saw our new professor for the class, Professor Moody. He was like one of those men who haunt the dreams of little kids with a huge chunk taken out of his plump nose along with deep scars that ran across his face. The brown hair ontop his head was very thin and stringy, almost dead looking. One of his legs was cut off, so he had a fake leg as well as a large walking stick. But my biggest problem with his appearance was the fake electric blue eye that was strapped to his head. There was no doubt that there were magical properties to it, seeing as it could look through walls... and people.
I abruptly looked up at him, letting go of the straw. To my embarrassment, the straw stuck onto my bottom lip.
"Yes s-," I started to say before stopping to take the straw out of my mouth. "Yes sir."
"Thank you," he growled, thumping over to the front of the classroom.
"Um, sir?"
"Yes," he grunted turning around.
"How did you know my last name?" I asked him.
"Your father helped me out a few nights ago," he said in a gruff tone. "You look just like him, eyes an all."
I blushed slightly without a smile. Most people told me I looked like a younger version of my mother, though I had a few that told me otherwise.
"Now this year we will be learning the Unforgivable Curses," he told us, his blue eye swiveling around.
Emilie stopped twirling her blonde hair and her full attention was on Professor Moody. Her eyebrows were furrowed and her hand was raised.
"Yes, Miss.-"
"McBride," Emilie finished putting down her hand. "We learned about Unforgivable Curses in our fourth year. Why aren't we-"
"Are you the teacher?" Moody growled, limping over to her seat in the front row.
"No," Emilie squeaked, cowering in his presence.
"Then I ask that you don't suggest what I should teach."
He limped back to the front of the classroom then leaned on his walking stick. "Now I would like for you to give me the three unforgivable curses."
Limited hands shot up in the air. His blue eye scanned the room before his victim was chosen.
"You're one of Arthur Weasley's kids, right?" Moody asked pointing to Fred.
Fred sat in the front row next to Angelina, his back was turned around as he was talking to a student behind him. When he realized that Moody was talking to him, he slowly turned around and gulped.
"Yeah?"
"You're father also helped me that night Miss. Reid's helped me," he commented. "Now can you give me a curse?"
"The Imperious Curse," Fred said after turning some gears in his head.
"Ahh, yes," Moody muttered, thumping over to a table that was filled with jars of scuttling incests. "The Imperious Curse. This curse will force one to do what it's caster wants them to do."
He opened a jar and pulled out a type of spider. I sat up straight and leaned back in my chair, my fingers gripping the chair as if it was to save my life.
"Engorgio," he muttered, his wand pointing at the spider.
In a matter of seconds, the spider was about the size of his palm. This caused me to push back further in my chair so hard the front legs were in the air.
George must have noticed me from the corner of his eye and snickered. He knew that spiders were in my top three fears. The first is spiders, the second being heights, and the third is motels.
"Imperio," Moody hissed.
Then the spider jumped from his hand to the desk were Emilie was sitting.
I gave a squeak and pushed further back causing my chair to tip over. I landed on the floor my back first. Although, nobody heard me because Emilie gave a loud piercing scream.
George started laughing at me and a few of those who were sitting behind snickered me.
I glared at him while quietly fixing myself back into my seat.
When I looked back to the front, the enlarged spider had jumped onto the desk in front of me. Screaming loudly, I jumped off my chair again and hid behind George.
He chuckled as he held my hand, stroking it with his thumb soothingly.
I looked up from behind George's chest to the desk. Thankfully the spider was back in Moody's hand and everyone was looking at me.
"Professor, was that necessary?" I asked, sitting back into my own seat, shakily.
"Very," he admitted. "Now, can you give me another curse, Miss. Reid?"
"Um..." I racked my brain for the Unforgivable Curse. I mean it's not like I didn't know one... I just didn't want to be the one to say it. "The... ugh... the Cruciatic Curse?"
"Cruciatus," he corrected.
"Potato, Patato," I muttered darkly, still ticked off by the enlarged spider.
"Now the Cruciatus Curse is when an intense torture is inflicted on someone," Moody explained, setting the spider onto the table.
"Crucio," he growled.
I watched as the spider rolled over on its back and twitched in pain. Immediately, I tense up as chills ran down my spine. Closing my eyes and covering my ears, I put my head on the desk.
My father was an Auror during the dark times and was tortured with this curse on multiple occasions. He never spoke about it to me. I only know because when Courtney and I were younger we would sneak into our father's office to play when my mother put Patrick down for his naps. One day, we were going through his cabinets and found a bunch of old newspaper clippings. I found an article about how he and others were hit with the Cruciatus Curse while on their missions. I never thought much about it again until my fourth year when I first learned about the Unforgivable Curses.
George nudged me to look back up.
When I did, Moody asked the class, "Now would anyone like to give me the last curse?"
The room was dead silence seeing as no one would dare raise a hand to answer his question. It was minutes before Moody had realized that no one could dare to answer. In some way afraid that he might use the spell on one of us.
Moody pointed his wand at the spider one again and said, "Avada Kedavra."
I sucked in a breath of air as a green light shot from the end of Moody's wand and hit the spider, which collapsed onto the desk. Never before in my life had I wanted to cry from watching a spider be killed.
~
"I hate that class," I muttered darkly to Alicia as we headed back to the common room with George and Lee.
"You and me both... though, the boys look entertained," Alicia noted, nodding towards the two baboons in front of us.
I rolled my eyes at the boys. "Men are just so simple, yet so dumb."
"So true," Alicia agreed with me as we walked into the portrait hole.
Inside of the common room was Patrick, Colin, Ginny, and a girl in Ginny's year who was from Ravenclaw named, Luna Lovegood. She was an odd girl, like extremely odd. She always had to mention nargles at least once whenever I was in the same room as her. But she was very pretty in my opinion. She had dirty blonde hair with a perfect complexion and silvery grey eyes that always seemed lost in space. Despite her oddness, I truly did like her and was glad Ginny made a good friend like her.
"Hey, short people," I said sitting on the couch next to Patrick who sat next to Ginny. Colin and Luna sat on the ground facing us. George sat down on a lounge chair and Lee sat on the one across from him, Alicia sitting on his lap.
"Hey, A'Liv," Patrick and Ginny said.
"Hi," Colin squeaked.
"Hello, Olivia Ann," Luna greeted.
I loved how she used my full name. She always earned a grin from me whenever she called me that.
"How'd you get in?" Lee asked her curiously.
"Ginevra covered my ears while Patrick said the password," she stated.
"Oh, okay," Lee approved.
"So how was your first day back?" I asked them, wrapping an arm around Patrick's shoulders.
"Good, till I saw you," he told me, shrugging my arm off his shoulders.
"Ooo, what an overused burn," George sarcastically applauded.
"Haha," I fake laughed towards Patrick's previous comment.
There was silence for a bit.
"Hey Gin, how are you doing?" I asked raising an eyebrow, giving her a knowing look.
She blushed and crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm doing fine."
"Good, good," I sighed.
Then the portrait swung open and in walked three people. Angelina clung to Fred laughing, while Emilie giggled to herself. Fred was laughing as well, though, it appeared forced to me. He walked in and saw all of us and stopped laughing, though a smile was still plastered on his face.
"Hey, guys," he said.
Shaking my head lightly, I crossed my arms and looked into the burning fire.
"Hi, Fred," Everyone said, while I remained silent.
"Do I not get a hi, or am I chop liver?" Angelina giggled passive aggressively.
"Hey, Angelina," everyone except Ginny and I said.
On the other hand, Ginny blurted, "You're chop liver."
Only saying it loud enough for Patrick and me to hear. Patrick chuckled as Ginny and I looked at each other with identical smirks.
"Um, Angelina, I need to have a word with my brother in private if you don't mind," Fred said.
I looked over at George who had the same curious look on his face as me. Fred isn't the type of guy to be private. Everything about him was usually laid out in the open.
"Oh, yeah sure," Angelina said, letting go of Fred and giving George a dirty look.
"Yeah, well... George if you will," Fred said motioning for his brother to follow him up to their dormitory.
George got up from his seat and followed Fred up to their room.
Angelina looked around. "I guess I'll just sit here till Fred comes back," she said aloud walking over to George's chair.
When she realized how many people were giving her an unwanted look, she stopped dead. She gave a little 'hm' before fixing her skirt and turning away from us. "Actually, there is too much smut in the room."
"Bitches," I coughed obtrusively as she and Emilie walked up to our room.
~George's P.O.V.~
I shut the door behind me as I followed my twin into our messy room.
"What's up, Fred?" I asked, watching him pace back and forth a couple of times.
He stopped and looked at me. I couldn't tell if he was frustrated, upset, or jealous. Knowing him, it was probably all of the above.
"What the hell, George!?" He shouted.
"What did I do?" I asked in utter shock.
"You... You're getting cozy with Olivia!" He groaned running a hand through his overgrown hair.
"What?" I said laughing.
"I saw her jump onto you today when the spider got close to her! And don't think I haven't noticed all the time you've been spending with her lately. I thought that you were going to help me get her. Not get her for yourself."
I looked at him for a few seconds to see if he was serious. His pained expression said it all. Only causing me to laugh even harder at his little rant.
"What are you doing? Why are you laughing? Stop! Stop laughing!" Fred wined.
"Fred. Poor, poor, Fred..." I sighed shaking my head and placing my hand on his shoulder. "I'm not getting cozy with A'liv. She's like my sister, I could never like her like that... plus I wouldn't do that to you."
"Then, why is she hanging out with you more than me all of the sudden?" He asked me. "I feel like we are moving in the opposite direction."
"Well, let's say that you're attempt at getting her jealous is starting to backfire," I said taking my hand back, waving it in the air dismissively.
"How would it be backfiring?"
"You're spending all of your spare time with Angelina, leaving her to hang out with her second favorite," I said, pointing at my grinning face.
"Wait... So are you in some extremely complicated way saying that she likes me?" Fred asked, a smile pulling at his lips.
"That is classified information that I must not tell," I said very bluntly.
His smile grew even further before he started jumping up and down chanting, "She likes me! She likes me!"
"Dude, you're getting your hopes up," I chuckled rolling my eyes. "You're not still going to keep up this Angelina thing, right?"
"So what if I am?" Fred asked. "Which the answer to that is yes. I'm going to pretend to like her till Liv cracks. Why do you ask?"
"She's getting on everyone's nerves."
"Trust me, no one is suffering as much as me."
