Chapter 3

A/N: This chapter is updated with airport WiFi. <-useless random information... XD Anyway, hold on to your seats and brace yourself for another whiney Kabir chapter and I'll see you next week ;)

P.s., this is the cutest thing I've ever seen... I cannot... It's sooo cute!!!

"Main nahi jaaonga! (I'm not going)" Kabir shouted as he crossed the living room to the kitchen. He needed a drink to clear his head, to forget her. "Main un dono milane ke liye thoda sa interest bhi nahi hai! (I'm not even a bit interested to meet them.)"

Ayesha rolled her eyes, this was probably the tenth time that week she had tried to convince Kabir to attend Vishal and Tara's wedding. She only had another month before the gossip columns fabricate stories about Kabir missing his best friend and ex's wedding. His break up had already ruined his career. He didn't need to deal with another blow. Ayesha was very surprised with how fast the gossip columns managed to find out about the wedding invitation.

Kabir angrily slammed the alcohol cabinet door close, unable to find anything in there. Must be Ayesha's doing!

"Kabir..." Ayesha growled.

The tension in the room was intensifying. Sunny, who had been "enjoying" the drama, realized he had to do something before things got out of hand (again).

"Ok fine," Sunny stepped in. "Nahi jaaonga toh nahi jaaonga." (Don't go if you don't want to go.)

Ayesha gave Sunny a death glare. What the...? Is he trying to sabotage her brother?!

"What do you mean nahi jaaonga?! (What do you mean don't go?!)" Ayesha asked, fuming. "Kabir ki career barbaad ho jayega!" (Kabir's career will be destroyed.)

"Ho gaya (Already)," Sunny corrected. "Kabir ki career barbaad ho gaya. (Kabir's career is already destroyed.) No one wants to sign him anymore. Especially, not after that episode he had on stage. Vaise bhi (Besides), what is he going to do there? It's his ex's shaadi (wedding)."

"Haan (Yes)," Kabir replied. "What am I supposed to do there? You won't even let me drink!"

Ayesha threw her hands in air, exasperated. Ayesha had learnt from experience that whenever any of the the VKAS boys teamed up against her, there's no stopping them.

"But... There's still one way you can save Kabir," Sunny cheekily told them.

"Kya? (What?)" Both siblings asked simultaneously. They looked at each other and then at Sunny with matching confused expressions. That was freaky...

"Therapy," Sunny replied. "I've already checked out some places and there's one I quite like..."

"Nahi (No)," Kabir said, cutting Sunny off. "Yeh therapy sab bakwas hai. Main nahi jaaonga. (This therapy things are nonsense. I'm not going)"

"Haan (Yes)," Ayesha agreed. "Therapist ki kya zaroorat hai? Hum hai na? I mean, Kabir ab tak zinda hai. No offense, bhaiyya." (What's the use of a therapist? We're here, right? I mean, Kabir's still alive right now. No offense, brother.)

"None taken," Kabir replied.

Sunny only grinned wider at their antics. If only they knew...

"Fine," Sunny told them. "Toh, therapy bhi mat kar. (Then, let's not do the therapy too.) But sun (listen), Rahul Oberoi wants Kabir to sober up for a VKAS reunion concert."

"Kya? (What?) " Both siblings and simultaneously, again. However, in contrast to Ayesha's surprised reaction, Kabir had disgust plastered all over his face.

"I find this bhai-behen (brother-sister) talking at the same time thing cute," Sunny quipped. "Do the both of you practice this or what?"

"Shut up, Sunny," Ayesha said as she smacked him over his chest.

"Owww," Sunny whined in protest. "I'm trying to help Kabir and you're hitting me? What's wrong with you?'

"Nahi (No)," Kabir finally said. "Main maar jaaonga tab bhi main yeh reunion concert nahi karoonga." (Even if I have to die, I won't do the reunion concert.)

"Kyun nahi karoonga?" (Why don't you want to do it?) Ayesha asked. "Aap ki pass kitne offer hai?" (How many offers do you have?)

Instead of answering, Kabir looked away. Sunny took this opportunity to lure Kabir in.

"I've already agreed," Sunny told them. "And from what I heard, Vishal has also agreed. That's half the band."

Ayesha looked over at Sunny, slightly impressed. Suddenly, an idea clicked in her mind.

"Kabir," she said slyly. "I'll give you a choice. Either you attend Vishal and Tara's shaadi (wedding) or you do the reunion concert. You have to choose one."

Kabir looked at Sunny as if Sunny had just betrayed him. Instead, Sunny just smiled in response. Knowing his sister, Ayesha will find a way for Kabir to go to the wedding and to do the concert.

"This isn't fair," Kabir told her. "This is blackmail!"

"Aap jo bhi isse kahe (Whatever it's called)," Ayesha insisted. "You'll have to choose one. Shaadi (Wedding) or reunion concert?"

"Fine," Kabir relents, choosing the lesser of two evils. "Main jaaonga... Lekin sirf Vishal aur Tara ki shaadi. (I'll go... But just for Vishal and Tara's wedding.) I'm not doing the whole lot of ceremonies and I'm definitely not doing the concert."

Ayesha let out an ear piercing scream and hugged her brother.

"Arre bas! (Enough!)" Kabir shouted at her, annoyed. Instead, she kissed him on his cheeks and then Sunny's. Kabir instantly wiped his cheeks as if Ayesha's kisses were toxic.

"I knew it!" Ayesha told Sunny. "Tumhare yeh chaal bohot smart hai. (This move of yours is very smart.) I knew you could convince the great Kabir Varma!"

"That wasn't exactly my plan," Sunny confessed. "But thank you, I'm his best friend after all. However, I'll add just one more condition."

"Aur kya hai, mere baap? (What else,  my father*)" Kabir asked, exasperated. This husband and wife jodi (couple) will be the death of him.

*Usually used as an annoyed expression.

"Aap therapy ko jaana hi hoga (You will have to go for therapy)," Sunny smirked. "If you want to take your revenge on Tara and Vishal, the best way is to show them that you're better off without them. Also, Rahul sir will also be attending the shaadi (wedding). If you put in enough effort to clean up your act, he might even reconsider to sign you on solo. Or at least, that's what he told me. He said you are far too talented to be wasted."

Ayesha lets out another ear piercing scream and hugs Sunny.

"Theek hai (Fine)," Kabir answered reluctantly. "I'll go."

Suddenly, Ayesha realized a fatal flaw and immediately reverted into her serious self.

"But what if people find out about this?" Ayesha asks as she lets go of Sunny. "Those gossiping idiots will make a big deal about this."

"Don't worry," Sunny told her as he pulled her into his arms. "I've already made some special requests. Instead of sending Kabir for therapy, the therapist is coming here. If things go right, your brother's career will be back on track."

"You're the best husband in the world, you know?" Ayesha said as she wrapped her hands around Sunny's neck.

"I've been told," Sunny replied.

Kabir rolled his eyes at the scene before him. Ugh, too much sap...  Thankfully, he had the perfect thing to ruin the moment.

"Aur aap duniya ki sabse annoying sister (And you're the world's most annoying sister), you know?" Kabir added just as he was leaving the room. Take that, sister!

"The feeling's mutual!" Ayesha shouted back. The nerve of this guy!

Kabir decided to ignore Ayesha and headed towards his room. Hopefully, Ayesha hasn't found the secret stash yet.

A/N : So, looks like Kabir has agreed to therapy... Will Kabir get better in time for the wedding or is he going to fail miserably? Well, I'll leave it to you to find out in the next chapter. Till then, hum hain rahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte...
