Kabir stared, mouth opened, shocked at what Di had just showed him.
Raina was wearing a white chiffon saree with a red choli that hugged her figure in all the right ways.
Kabir could tell Raina wasn't very comfortable in it. She kept adjusting it, pulling and tugging it at different corners.
"So, what do you think?" Di asked the both of them.
"I don't know," Raina said. "It's a bit too much, don't you think?"
Kabir couldn't help but continue to stare at Raina, stunned.
"Di," Kabir whispered to her, his eyes was still fixated on Raina. "Yeh tune kya kiya?" (What did you do?)
"My job," Di replied. She then walks over to Raina and swiftly pulls her glasses off. "There, perfect."
Kabir let's his face drop into his palm. Di... He then walks over to Di and yanked Raina's glasses out of her hands.
"The whole point is to make her less distracting," he said as he carefully placed the glasses back on Raina.
"And suddenly, she isn't the most beautiful woman you've ever met," Di said sarcastically. Kabir shot her a dirty look."What? I'm a fashion designer's PA, what do you want me to do?"
"I don't know," he replied and returned to where he was previously standing. He takes another look at Raina. "Just make sure she doesn't draw too much attention. It's hard enough to keep the media-walon off my back. It'll be harder if they were after the both of us."
"Fine," Di sighed. "I'll see what else I can do."
Di stormed off and left the both of them alone. Raina shuffled in the silence, unsure of what to do. Kabir took a few steps closer to Raina, closing the distance between them.
"You... Erm... You look beautiful," he said. Beautiful was an understatement.
"Thanks," she replied. This wasn't something Raina is accustomed to. Sure, she enjoys shopping but this was on a whole different level. Furthermore, having the personal assistant of an international fashion designer fawning over her was... Interesting. So, this is what being famous feels like.
"I'm sorry if Di's a bit overwhelming," he told her. "She doesn't get to do this very often so she will tend to go overboard."
"She's alright," Raina replied. "I haven't had a girls day out in awhile so this is fun."
"Really?" Kabir asked, a bit taken aback by this new found information. "I never really pegged you for the shopping type."
Raina smiled.
"Then what do you 'peg' me as, Mr. Kabir Varma?" Raina asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, erm..." Kabir said, shuffling nervously in his place. He looked to the ground for comfort. Raina who was standing there looking ravishing did not help one bit. Focus, Kabir! "You're smart, you're pretty, very unconventional but also a sanskari (cultured) goody two shoes... Something like Hermione Granger from Harry Potter."
"Basically, an insufferable know-it-all," she noted.
Kabir's eyes raises to meet hers. Didn't she hear all the nice things he had just said about her?
"You're not that bad," he told her. "You're only insufferable when you insist I answer all of your questions."
"Because it's my job," she huffed.
At that exact moment, Di returns with a stack of clothes.
"Here," Di said as she passed them to Raina. "Try these on instead."
Kabir stared at the stack.
It's going to be a loooong evening.

After three hours of scouting for outfits, Kabir and Raina finally hitched a ride back to the hotel with Di. He had told the girls about his accommodation plans during the journey back and thankfully, Di had agreed to let Raina stay with her.
Upon entering the hotel, Kabir had anticipated mobs of cameras and reporters rushing up to him in the lobby. However, none of that happened despite the large number of them still lingering around. He was impressed with how well his disguise had worked as no one had managed to recognise him.
Kabir decided to joined them in the Di's room as he wanted to make sure Raina had settled down before he bid them goodnight. Upon reaching the room, Raina excused herself from the group to freshen up, leaving Di and Kabir alone. Kabir removed the turban and ruffled out his hair.
"You do realize that if I'm here, that means the entire Desai khandan (family) is here too, right?" Di told him.
"I know," he replied with a sigh. Kabir really wanted nothing to do with them.
"And you're ok with that?" Di asked.
"No," he answered truthfully. "But Raina's here. She'll know what to do."
"Why?" Di joked. "Is she like your conscience or something?"
"I don't know," he told her. "But having her around helps. I bumped into Vishal earlier and I almost wanted to rip his face off. But there was something that stopped me. Something Raina said. She told me that there are things that I won't like but that's the truth. And there's no way I can keep running away from them. I'm tired of running, Di. I want to move on."
"Is that why you're here?" Di asked, curious. He was the last person she'd expect to attend the wedding. If this was his way of moving on then, she was happy for him and she would support him. He had been hurting for too long.
"It started out as a deal with Ayesha," he explained. "As time passed, I realised it was a stupid idea. Until..."
"Until Raina," she completed his sentences. He nodded. "You seem to listen to her a lot. Are you sure she hadn't got you wrapped around her pretty manicured fingers?"
Kabir lets out a sigh.
"We're just friends, Di," he told her.
"You know," Di joked. "When people say they're just friends in the entertainment industry, they usually mean that they're together. Are you sure..."
"We're not together," Kabir said, cutting her off. "I'm seriously contemplating punching the next person who says something like that."
Before they can say another word, the doorbell rings.
"I'll get it," Di told him. "It's probably just Ayesha."
Kabir plunked himself on the bed. Comfy. He heard the door open.
"Arjun?" Kabir heard Di say. "What are you doing here?"
"Where's Kabir?" Arjun demanded. "He's not in his room so I know he's with you." Shit.
At that same moment, Raina had just gotten out of the bathroom and realized that Kabir was on the bed.
"Kabir?" Raina asked, a little too loud for comfort. "Why are you still here?"
Kabir's attention immediately shifts to Raina. Of all the people... Suddenly, he had a strong urge to murder the doctor.
He hears footsteps closing in and without a second thought, Kabir grabbed Raina's arm. He dragged her into the bathroom with him, shutting and locking the door behind them. He was sure the entire hotel had heard the door slam but he didn't care. Kabir had to get out of there.
"Aur ab kya hua?" (And what happened this time?) Raina asked, annoyed. She had been forcefully dragged around by Kabir since she arrived. And frankly, she was getting tired of it.
Before Kabir could explain himself, there was a loud pounding on the door.
"Kabir!" It was Arjun. "I know you're in there! Kabir!"
Kabir was looking around like a lost child, looking for places to hide or to escape. The pounding only got louder.
"Kabir!" Arjun shouted sharply. "Bahar aao!" (Come out!)
Raina grabbed hold of Kabir and forced him to look at her.
"What is going on?!" Raina asked, a little harsher.
"There's no time to explain," he told her. "I need to get out of here."
Raina lets out a sigh, exasperated.
"I'm going to open the door if you don't tell me what's going on!" Raina threatened. Her fingers barely brushed the doorknob before Kabir grabbed hold of her hand.
"I'm begging you," Kabir pleaded. "Don't."
Raina grabbed hold of the doorknob and stared him down.
"Raina," he warned. "Don't."
Raina continued looking at him, daring him. She was determined to find out what was going on.
Kabir lets out a huff of breath, admitting his defeat.
"The crazy guy outside," he explained. "He's my brother."
"What?" Raina said, in shock. Unknowingly, her hands slips and accidentally unlocks the door. Arjun and Di came tumbling in.
Kabir cups his face in frustration and sighs. Raina, still in shocked, could only look back and forth between them. Kabir runs his fingers through his hair as Arjun and Di picks themselves off the ground.
"Raina, meet my brother, Arjun Desai," he said, biting back every ounce of temptation to throw a fit. "And Arjun, meet Dr. Raina Jaitley, my therapist."
"Half brother," Arjun corrected as he held his hand out to Raina. She shook it hesitantly. "I'm sorry, was I disturbing anything?"
Kabir took a few steps away from them to calm himself down.
Suddenly, Kabir turned back and charged at Arjun. He used his left hand to grab Arjun's collar as his right hand landed a hook across Arjun's jaw.
As Arjun fell to the ground clutching his jaw, Kabir reeled his hand back in pain.

A/N: Lesson of the day - don't assume Kabir and Raina are together... You'll only get beaten up by Kabir 😂😂😂
So, now that you know who Arjun is, I'm pretty sure you've figure out Kabir's relationship with the whole Desai family. But what happened? Why does he hate his brother so much but still continues to love his sister?
