09 ~ The Weight of Memories⑅
The next morning, on my way to the office, I remembered I needed to go to the stationery shop.
I parked my car and went inside to buy the necessary items.
On my way back to the car, I heard screams and shouts. Following the sounds, I found a crowd gathered and asked someone what had happened.
"There has been an accident," the person replied.
Moving forward, I was shocked to see the woman lying on the ground.
It was Mrs. Varma, my ex-mother-in-law. I quickly told the men to help me carry Mrs. Varma to the car.
After getting her into the car, I immediately called Neil, my ex-husband, and told him about the situation.
(Author : Dekho isse , dost marne pe tuli hai aur ye bachane par)
(Look at her, her friend wants to kill her and she wants to save her)
My heart raced as I dialed Sir's number. "Sir," I began, my voice strained, "I'll be a little late."
His concern was palpable. "Why? Your voice sounds off," he pressed.
"Actually, sir," I hesitated, "I'm going to the hospital. It'll be late for me."
Sir hurriedly asked "Hospital? Why? What happened? Are you okay?."
(Author : Aree wo thik hai bilkul tension mat lo)
(She's really okay, don't worry at all)
"I'm all right, sir," I assured him. "Give me some time. I'll tell you after I get back."
He huffed "Okay, take your time. And take care. If there's any problem, call me, okay?."
"Sure, sir," I replied, cutting the call. As I rushed to the hospital, Neil, my ex-husband, appeared. His eyes mirrored my anxiety. "How's my mom?" he asked, teetering on the edge of despair.
(Author : Waise to wo marne wali thi, lekin ek aati dayalu pari ne aakar bacha liya)
(Although she was about to die, but a very kind angel came and saved her.)
"Doctor won't say anything now," I whispered, my voice steady. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine."
After 1 hour later.....
Me and Neil are waiting for the doctor to come out. When the doctor finally arrives, Neil quickly gets up and rushes towards him. "How is my mother?" he asks anxiously.
The doctor replies, "She's out of danger, but we can't be certain about her legs until she wakes up." He then walks away, leaving us in a state of anxious anticipation. I continue to comfort Neil, trying to be a pillar of strength for him.
I tell him not to worry about anything, offering him financial help if he needs it. But he shakes his head and says, "I'm already a burden to you, Shreeja. I don't want to burden you more. Please, don't help me any further."
(Author : Bechara, Isske upar daya bhi aati hai bohat)
(Poor guy, I feel sorry for him too)
Tears stream down his face, and my heart aches for him. It's not his fault, and I can't help but feel pity for him.
He is such a kind and good man, not like his mother. Why is God doing this to him?
"Shreeja," he says, "thank you for today. I know I can't thank you enough, but please forgive me and my mother. And please, go now. I don't want you to stay here."
I feel a deep pity for him. "Take care," I say softly. "And remember, you're not alone."
As I leave the hospital, the doors closing behind me, I wonder- Is it luck or fate that binds us all? I nod goodbye to Neil through the glass door and head back to my office.
Once I arrived at the office, I go straight to Sir's cabin.
As soon as he sees me, he gets up and comes forward. "What happened, Ms. Gupta? Is everything alright?" he asks, concern etched on his face.
I nod and tell him everything about the accident and what the doctor said. "I just think God is so unfair to them," I tell Sir.
He nods and pats my head gently. "I think it's karma. I know you are kind, but it's their karma, Shreeja, so don't dwell on it too much, okay?".
"Shreeja," he begins, "life often deals us cards we never asked for, burdens we didn't choose. But remember this- You're not alone. We're all travelers on this winding road, and sometimes, the path gets rocky."
"Your kindness," he continues, "is a beacon. Even when the world feels heavy, your light shines. And as for Neil and his mother—sometimes, people carry their own storms. It's not your fault."
"Forgive them," he whispers. "Not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace. And Shreeja, you're stronger than you know."
(Author : Aise koi agar Shree ke dosto ko bhi samjhate to duniya palat jati)
(If anyone could have taught this way to Shree's friends, then the world would have turned upside down.)
I nod and go back to my work. After completing my tasks, I head home and go straight to my room, locking the door behind me.
My mother comes to ask what I want for dinner, but I tell her I don't want to eat tonight. I don't feel well and just want to be alone. She sounds worried but leaves me alone.
I quickly freshen up and lie down on my bed, placing one hand on my head. My thoughts drift back to Seven months ago when I was forcefully married to Neil.
Flashback: 7 Months Ago
Everyone was having dinner at the Gupta house that night. Shreeja noticed that her father seemed very worried and tense, as if he wanted to tell her something but couldn't bring himself to say it.
"Papa, you look tense. Is something wrong? You can tell me," she asked him gently.
Her father stammered, "N...No, dear, nothing's happened. Don't worry about it. Just eat and rest, okay? I know you're tired after work." He patted her head as she ate, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

(Shreeja, There's Definitely something messy)
After dinner, she went to her room, still troubled by her father's behavior.
The next day, as she returned home from work, she heard her mother's voice raised in a shout.
Alarmed, she hurried to her parents' room and stopped when she overheard their conversation.
She quickly opened the door, and her parents were shocked to see her standing there.
"What are you two talking about? Please tell me it's all a lie," Shreeja demanded, tears welling up in her eyes. She felt utterly betrayed.
Her father tried to calm her down and explained the situation. He began recounting the incidents from two days ago.
In his office, where he worked as a government accounts clerk, someone had suddenly entered his cabin and told him that his superior, Mr. Bikash Shetty, was calling for him.
Mr. Gupta went to Mr. Shetty's office after knocking on the door.
" Sir you called for me?" Mr. Gupta asked.
"Yes, Gupta ji, come sit," Mr. Shetty said. After Mr. Gupta sat down, Mr. Shetty asked, "So, where is the money?"
Mr. Gupta was confused by the question. "I don't understand what you're talking about. Money? Which money?"
Mr. Shetty laughed dangerously and shouted, "Stop your nonsense and tell me where you've hidden the money you stole from here."
Mr. Gupta was shocked and couldn't understand why he was being accused. Mr. Shetty showed him the papers and the messed-up financial records on the computer.
Mr. Gupta, as the sole accountant, was being framed for embezzlement.
Mr. Gupta's world crumbled as he pleaded with Mr. Shetty. "Sir, it's not me. Someone is trying to frame me. I've been loyal here for years. Please trust me."
But Mr. Shetty replied, "I understand, Mr. Gupta, but it's not in my hands. You have nothing to prove your innocence. So here's the deal- cooperate and give back the money, and you'll be free. Otherwise, I'll have to go with the second option, which won't be good for your reputation. If you go to jail, what will become of your future? I heard you have a daughter who works at a big company. If you go to jail, her reputation will be ruined too. Think about it and call me later." With that, Mr. Shetty left, leaving Mr. Gupta standing there like a mannequin without a soul, wondering what he should do.
(Author : What the fucking hell he wants from papaji, didn't he check everything correctly , I'm sure someone is trying to frame him)
As Mr. Shetty walked away, Mr. Gupta felt the weight of his decision pressing upon him. Shreeja's future hung in the balance, and he was suffocating under the pressure.
⚠️Explicit Word Alert⚠️
ON THAT NIGHT
A car parked at roadside, the air was thick with malevolence. Mr. Shetty glanced at the Middle aged man who's our 'The Third Unknown Person', concern etched on his features. "Sir, what's our next move?" he asked.
'The Third Unknown Person', eyes gleamed with twisted satisfaction. "Pressure him," he replied, his voice low and venomous. "Force him to surrender the money."
(Author : Firse ek neya Unknown pagal, kya chahiye isko papaji se?)
(Again a new unknown madman, what does he want from father?)
"But what if he has evidence to prove his innocence?" Mr. Shetty pressed.
'The Third Unknown Person', laughter echoed like a predator's. "I've already taken care of that," he said. "Deleted all traces. Gupta won't escape this web. His problems are now mine, and the spoils—all the money—will be mine too."
Suddenly, ''The Third Unknown Person', eyes narrowed as he watched a girl walking along the road. Recognition dawned. "She looks familiar," he murmured to Mr. Shetty.
Mr. Shetty confirmed, "Yes, she's Mr. Gupta's daughter."
A sinister idea took root in 'The Third Unknown Person', mind. He instructed Mr. Shetty to call Gupta and arrange a meeting at Shetty's farmhouse. "Prepare a document," he said, his voice dripping with malice. The trap was set, and Shreeja's fate hung in the balance.
Mr. Shetty, sensing the gravity of the situation, asked, "Sir, if I may, What are you planning?"
"I'll tell him I want to marry his daughter. If he agrees, he won't have to give me the money," 'The Third Unknown Person', said, his tone chilling.
(Author : WHHHHAAATTTTTTT!!!!)
Mr. Shetty was horrified. "Sir, you can't do that. Think about your position and reputation. This could ruin everything."
"So what should I do? I can't just let her go," he continued, his eyes gleaming with a twisted desire. "Look at every inch of her. Her body curves are tempting for me, her legs are slim and smooth, her ass is plumpy, and looks like her breasts will be damn Squashy, and I'm sure her each holes will also be............. I want to taste every inch of her." He said with lust full eyes as he licked his lips.

(Now where should I insert this thing in him...ooppss.. I mean... Where should I beat him)
"But sir, we need to handle this differently," Mr. Shetty pleaded.
'The Third Unknown Person', thinks for a moments and smirked. "Okay, I have an idea. I know someone who'll make it easy for me, I'll send him to your farmhouse, Make him talk to Gupta first." And he laughed like a madman, the sound echoing with malevolence.
After a few hours, Mr. Gupta arrived at Mr. Shetty's farmhouse. Shetty welcomed him and introduced Mr. Kupat Khurana, who shook hands with Vikram Gupta. Shetty began, "So, Gupta, I have a solution for you. If you do this, you won't have to repay the money."
"Yes, sir. What is it?" Gupta asked eagerly.
Shetty glanced at Khurana before continuing, "I want your daughter to marry Mr. Khurana's nephew."
Gupta stood up abruptly, "No, it can't happen!"
"Look, Gupta, it's a solution for you. If your daughter marries his nephew, you won't have to repay me. If not, you'll have to pay or go to the jail. Think about it carefully," Shetty pressed.
"But... how can I do this to my daughter?" Gupta said weakly.
Khurana smiled gently, "Don't worry. My nephew is a good, kind boy. Your daughter will be in good hands."
"Please give me some time to think about this," Gupta pleaded.
"No, I don't have that much time. Think now and sign this marriage agreement," Shetty pressured.
After some thought, Gupta signed the document. Shetty smirked as he watched. Khurana said, "Wait, I'll call my nephew. He'll be here to talk with you. I'll prepare everything for the marriage."
"Hmm, but please give me some time to talk to my daughter," Gupta pleaded.
"Yes, talk to her and make her agree on this marriage," Khurana said.
Neil, Khurana's nephew, arrived, and Gupta spoke with him. He found Neil to be a good person and decided to talk to his daughter, Shreeja.
Shreeja's mind reeled as she processed her father's story. The betrayal, the manipulation, and the looming threat to her family's reputation and future weighed heavily on her heart.
After hearing everything from my father, I sat on the sofa with dark, blank eyes. My mother was crying, and my father stood in front of me, guilt-ridden. "Why didn't you discuss anything with me, Father? If we had talked, we could have found a solution. Why?" I questioned in disbelief.
(Author : Wohi naa ek baar aagar papaji baat karte Shree ke sath to koi na koi hal zarur nikal aata)
(If father had talked to Shree once, then some solution would have definitely emerged.)
My father began to cry and begged me. I didn't say anything and asked, "I want to meet that boy. What's his name?"
"Neil Varma," my father replied. I nodded and left.
Later, I told my father to arrange a meeting with Neil. During this time, my father learned from Khurana that Neil had an accident and was in the hospital.
Hearing this, I thought, "Huh, why didn't he die? Why is he still alive?" Then I slapped myself, thinking, "No, no, what am I thinking? It's not right to wish that without knowing him. You are not that kind of woman, Shree. I just want some answers from him, that's it."
And after Three days, We met at the hospital. I told him about the marriage arrangement.
He was shocked and said, "I didn't know anything about this. My uncle told my mom, and I said yes. But if you don't like it, then okay, you don't have to do it." I thought, "Is he really innocent, or is he playing?".
(Author : He's to innocent )
After some more discussion and paying carefully attention to him, I realized he was just an innocent boy, not someone who could think for himself.
I sighed tiredly, unsure whether to be angry or laugh at his innocence. I left, and within a few weeks, the marriage was done. It wasn't a dream wedding but a rushed, only registered marriage.
Nothing happened on the first night. Neil slept on the sofa and told me to sleep on the bed. I didn't argue, knowing he was still recovering from his accident. I didn't ask him about it, figuring he'd tell me if he wanted to.
I thought my mother-in-law would like me, but I was wrong. When I told her I was a personal assistant at S&I Deshmukh Company, she got angry.
"Why are you a personal assistant? Quit now. You have a husband. I don't accept it."

(Mother-in-law, aren't you saying too much.)
"Mother-in-law, it's not a joke," I frowned.
"I'm serious. I don't allow you to work there. Resign and be a housewife," she insisted.
"Just because I was forced into this marriage doesn't mean I'll agree to everything. This is my life, and I'll decide what I do. You should keep your mouth shut about me. Goodbye," I replied.

My mother-in-law was furious and told Neil about my behavior, but he didn't say anything. Two weeks passed, and she had problems with everything I did.
The good thing was Neil had no issues with me. He was calm and silent, always obeying his mother but never hurting me.
He was a gentle soul. I tried to be friends with him, and even though he was 26, he sometimes seemed younger than me.
He told me his father divorced his mother, and now he only had his mother and uncle.
One day, as I was leaving the office, a car stopped next to me. Someone covered my mouth with a cloth and pulled me in. I was scared, wondering who was kidnapping me.

PRESENT TIME :
The sound of the alarm broke my sleep, and I sat up, startled. For a moment, I wondered what had woken me, then remembered the bad dreams of the past that haunted my nights. I sighed tiredly and got out of bed to freshen up.
(Author : Areee reee, sapna to pura dekh sakti thi, humhe pata hi nehi chala kon? Kyu? Kaha? Kidnapped kiya tha)
(she could see the dream completely, we just didn't know Who? Why? Where? was she kidnapped)
I glanced at the clock—8:47 AM. I still had time before I needed to leave for the office. I grabbed my car keys and everything I needed before heading downstairs.
Mom looked up as I entered the kitchen "Wow, you're earlier today. What happened to you?" mom said and I just shrugged "Nothing. I'm going now. I'll eat outside."Both Mom and Dad looked at me like I was someone else, but I didn't have time to explain.
I drove straight to the hospital to see Mrs. Varma. As I walked in, I saw Neil sitting there, looking blank and lost.
I quickly went to him, worried. "What happened, Neil? Is everything okay? How is your mother?"In response, he broke down and cried. I put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down before going to find the doctor.
When I asked about Mrs. Varma, the doctor's words hit me like a freight train. "Her legs aren't working, and she'll be paralyzed for the rest of her life."
I gasped, the shock hitting me hard. I looked back at Neil, who was now staring at the floor, looking even more lost. Poor guy—he had so much on his plate.
(Author : Heiinnnn??? Meine to socha tha marne ki khabar aayegi, aaa... matlab eesha nehi hai ki mein bol rahi hu wo maar jaye.....Mera matlab, OT mein death to ho jati hai aakshar, hai na? *Evil smile- fufufu*)
(I thought that there would be news of death, aaa… I mean, it is not that I'm telling her to die… I mean, death is known in OT, isn't it?)
I walked over to him and pulled him into a hug. "Don't worry. Everything will be alright. We'll find a better doctor for her and also a good job for you."He just cried harder, mumbling, "It's my fate to be pathetic."I spent some time calming him down, assuring him that we would find a way to make things better.
Eventually, I had to leave for the office, but my mind was racing. Should I ask Idhayan sir for help in finding a good job for Neil, or should I try to find something on my own? As I drove to the office, I remembered the dream I had that morning about my past. A small smile crept onto my face as I recalled the memories.
Flashback : 7 Months Ago :
After the kidnapping, The car sped away, and I tried to escape. Then the person holding me released me, and I moved to a corner of the car. Looking around, I was shocked and shouted, "You!"
The kidnappers are non other than Akansha and Akash, I was shocked and Staring at them for quite some time.
(Author : Ayeeeiinn? Dost bane Kidnapper ?)
(Friends became Kidnapper)
"Akansha! Akash! What is this madness?" I exclaimed, feigning fury.
Akansha tried to stifle a laugh, "We got you good, didn't we? Surpriseee!!!"
(Author : Par mujhe kyu lag raha toofan aane wala hai.....mein bhaag jati hoon)
(But why do I feel that a storm is coming...I run away)
I lunged at Akansha, who squealed and ducked away. "You're going to pay for this little stunt," I threatened with a smile, her hands balled into mock fists.
Then when Akansha was about to say something, I went in front of her and caught her hair and beat her like there's no tomorrow.
Akansha apologized to me but I couldn't hear anything, I ignored everything and beat her while saying
"You bitch, how dare you two, to kidnapped me like that huhh?, do you want to die in my hand?, do you know how much scared I was when I thought someone kidnapped me ?".
Akansha trying to protect herself from my beating season but failed and said
"Ahh ahhh wait wait babe just listen to me once, ouchhh ouchhh uuhhh it's hurt ,, aahhh stop please oww slowly, just listen to me once babe", Akash who was driving, stop the car and was about to help Akansha. But I grabbed Akash and Akansha by their hair and yanked hard, causing their heads to collide violently.
(Author : *In the backside of the car, I'm not here...no one can see me*)
After tiring myself out by playfully beating them, I leaned back in my seat. The ride to the café had been filled with our usual banter and conflicts.
Once we arrived and Akansha ordered something, we settled at a corner table, me on one side and Akansha and Akash on the other.
A dead silence hung between us as they're trying to avoid my gaze, waiting for our orders to arrive.
When the food finally came, Akansha and Akash immediately reached for it.
I slapped their hands away.
"Kya yaar, kuch khane to de, bhook lagi hai bohat" (Hey friend, let me eat some food, I'm very hungry) Akansha whined.
"Aaann Haann, sharam nahi aati tujhe, yaha baithkar khane ki sochna" (Yeah, don't you have any shame to sit here and think about eating?) I stated, trying to maintain a stern expression.
"Haan, to yaha par to sab khane ke liye hi aate hai, aur agar tum sone ki anumati deti ho to mein so jati hoon" (Yes, everyone comes here to eat, and if you give me permission to sleep, I'll sleep) Akansha replied, yawning.
"Aree babe, theek hai abhi to maaf kar do, sorry to bola maine" (Aww babe, please forgive me now, I said sorry, right?) she pleaded.
"Achaa, to sorry bolne se sab theek ho jayega haan? Aur jo meri jaan nikalne wali thi uska kya?" (Okay, so saying sorry will make everything okay, yes? And what about my life that was about to end?) I retorted.
"Aisa kaise hone de sakti thi mein meri babe ke sath" (How could I let something like this happen to my babe?) she said, reaching out to touch me. I slapped her hand away again, and she quickly retracted it.
It suddenly occurred to me that Akash was missing. He had been sitting beside Akansha.
Both of us started looking around, and then we spotted him at the opposite corner of the café, eating his food.
My anger simmered beneath a smile as I cracked my fingers, the sound of bones snapping echoing in the quiet café.
"Firse maar khani hai kya tujhe?" (Do you want me to beat you again?) I asked, glaring at Akash. He hesitated, looking sheepish, and then slowly came back to sit on the chair silently.
Once they were both seated, I took a deep breath. "You two really know how to get on my nerves," I muttered, shaking my head.
Akash finally spoke, "We just wanted to surprise you, Shreeja. We didn't mean any harm."
I sighed, "I know, but you have to understand, my life is complicated enough without your pranks adding to it."
Akansha looked genuinely remorseful. "We're sorry, Babe. We didn't think it would upset you this much."
I softened a little. "Just... try to be more considerate next time, okay?"
They both nodded, and we finally started eating our food. Despite the tension, it felt good to be with friends.
We spent the rest of the meal catching up, laughing, and sharing stories. By the time we left the café, the earlier awkwardness had dissipated.
Akansha and Akash wants to know about everything about my situation now "We want to know everything, Shree. How are you really holding up?" Akansha asked, her concern evident.
So I tell them about everything happened. And after all hearing from me they burst in anger. They are saying to me 'just tell us we'll do anything, ok'.
They tell me if I want to divorce Neel , but I told them "No , I want to give this marriage a chance. I know it's not my dream marriage but we are married on paper so please don't bother about this".
After this they sighed and hugged me tightly and assured that they are always with me and will be in future also, I also hugged them with teary smile.
"So now, tonight you have to come over to our private place with your husband. We will meet him, okay?" Akansha's voice rang in my ears, and I nodded in agreement.
Trying to change the topic, I asked, "You tell me, when did you two came here? You were out of the city, right? And how did you know about this?"
Akansha smirked, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Babe, you forgot about us, so we thought to surprise you. But it's ruined now. As for knowing about this, we have our ways."
I raised an eyebrow, suspicion creeping into my expression. Akash coughed, and Akansha gave a nervous smile before adding, "We put an informer behind you, and..."
Before she could finish, I again smacked her. "How dare you two, seriously. Aishhh!".
(Author : Mein sach bol rahi hoon, Akansha kuch bhi kar sakti hai)
(I am telling the truth, Akansha can do anything)
We all laughed it off and went our separate ways. That evening, I went home and told Neel about meeting my friends. He didn't mind, so we got ready to go.
As we arrived at the venue, Neil looked around, clearly uneasy. The place was a VIP's private area, and it was intimidating. We walked into a private room where Akansha and Akash were already lounging on a sofa, smoking and drinking.
(Author : Smoking and drinking causes our health injuries)
(Akansha : Fuck health and injuries, we don't give a shit about that)
I introduced Neil as my husband. He looked so nervous that he declined the wine I offered him. Akansha and Akash's intense gazes didn't help his nerves.
"Guys, don't look at him like you're going to kill him. He's really good. Please be gentle," I warned, trying to ease the tension. Akansha gave a tight-lipped, forced smile.
It was difficult to tell whether Akansha was talking to or threatening Neil. Even Akash, whom I had hoped would stay silent, couldn't resist making snide remarks. I sighed internally, trying to keep the peace.
Eventually, we bid goodbye and headed home. Neil was tense the entire ride back. I tried to reassure him, "Don't worry about them. They're always like this."
The next three months passed after our marriage. Neil and I became good friends, but he never mentioned taking our relationship further. I didn't push for a traditional husband-wife relationship either.
(Author : Mein to soch rahi hu Aapne Idhayan ka kya hua hoga e sab dekhkar)
(I am wondering what would have happened to Idhayan after seeing all this.)
The real problem was with my mother-in-law. There was no peace between us. Every interaction was fraught with tension.
To make matters worse, Neil's uncle gave me the creeps. I kept a smile on my face and ignored him, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to tolerate.
SECOND UNKNOWN PERSON'S POV
In The Doctor's Chamber :
I sat in the doctor's chair, legs crossed, playing with a paperweight.
The doctor stood in front of me, visibly sweating due to tension.
"I hope you understood my instructions," I said. After a brief pause, I continued, "Don't worry, you have nothing to fear if you listen to me. Otherwise, you know what will happen...".
"I... I got it, sir. I'll do as you ordered" The doctor stammered.
"Very well, I'll reward you handsomely when it's done" I replied, Then, I turned to Cassian and said, "Now, look into it further and report back with the results."
Cassian responded, "'Yes, boss!'"
