Colors- Daryl

"Everything is grey, his hair, his smoke, his dreams and now he's so devoid of color he don't  know what is means and he's blue."

Season
1 Daryl
Your POV:
Daryl was a broken man.

There was no doubting it. It was a fact that was clear as day. At least to me. Behind that wall, he put up to protect himself was a broken man. Daryl was quick to snap. It was a defense mechanism and he never had to tell me in order for me to know. I just knew. Many people look at Daryl and think he's a troublesome redneck. But when I see him I see a broken angel. I wasn't someone he was close with. In fact, we barely talked. I just observed him from afar.

Daryl and I work at the same motor shop. I just work the front desk but I occasionally help out in the garage when I'm needed. Most people assume I work there because it was a last resort job for me. Truth be told I was here because I loved vehicles. Especially trucks and motorcycles. My dad owned the shop and noticed my love for automobiles and suggested that I work here long enough to see how things work and maybe one day take over the shop. I happily took the opportunity. Today was one of the days that I got to help out in the garage.

"Lil' sis, I need your help with this," Pme of the guys called.
That's my name around the shop. I wasn't exactly young but everyone had taken quite the liking to me. I was told I looked young for my age so everybody started calling me 'Lil sis' well everyone except Daryl. Who stuck to calling .me 'girl' when he needed something.

"What's up buck?" I asked going over to him.

"I'm telling Dixon here that this truck needs a whole new engine. What's your verdict?" He asked.

I looked over to Daryl and I felt a warm bubbly feeling spewing about in my stomach. I quickly looked away and focused on the truck.
"Uh-um....I'm seeing a lot going on....a new battery definitely needed...did you do an oil check?" I asked.

"Not yet but so far it looks bad. I think the customer would be better off getting a whole new engine with all that's going on."

"What the complaint?"

"Keeps breaking down."

"Keys?" I say holding out my hand. The blonde man handed me the keys and I hopped I'm the truck and tried to get it to crank. It only sputtered in attempt.

"Awe baby," I say to the truck before hopping out. "Has she been in the shop before?"

"Plenty of times." Buck mentions.

"This is a new model they don't last as long as the old ones...the old ones can take a beating. New ones require TLC....sorry Dixon...Buck is right." I grimaced.

Buck laughed and I shook my head before walking away to go work on another vehicle.

I went on break and on my way out of the building. I spot Daryl leaning against the side of the building smoking a cigarette.

"What you lookin' at girl?" He asked.

I quickly look away. "Sorry," I apologized. "....those things are gonna kill you. Y'know." I say referring to the cigarettes.

"I ain't dead yet," He retorted before taking another puff. "Why do you care?"

"Because I know you're good people..."

"You dunno shit about me girl," He grumbled.

I was at a loss for words because he was right I didn't know him well. "I know enough.."

He scoffed before muttering something I didn't catch. Then throwing the cigarette on the ground and stepping on it. He stormed back inside without sparing me a glance.

I wanted to get close to him. But I never knew how to. He was guarded. Heavily guarded.

I've been trying to talk to him somehow. But I never get close. Nowhere near it.

Later that night everyone was going home. My dad was sick that day so I was taking over. I counted up all the money that was made and did all the managing stuff. I heard a crash in the garage. I grabbed my pepper spray and went into the garage to see Daryl.

"Dixon?" I questioned.

He looked back at me. "Why you still here?" He questioned.

"It's my job...it's after closing why're you still here?" I questioned.

"Leaving now,"

"Oh," I said.

"That your bike?" He asked pointing towards my motorcycle.

"Yea, her name's Mona Lisa...I built her myself." I say walking over to her and run my hand along the handle. "I spent every dime on her and I would do it all again," I say smiling at her.

"It's rainin' outside." He mentions and it was silent enough for you to hear the rain bouncing off the roof.

"Shit," I grumbled. "Could you give me a ride?" I asked biting my lip.

".....get your stuff,"

"Thank you," I say running back to the office and grabbing my leather jacket and meet him out front. Daryl was already in the truck.

I ran out of the door and quickly locked it before getting into the truck. Daryl took off.

"Thanks," I huffed.

"Already said that," He muttered.

"Well, thanks again,"

"Whatever, where you live?"

"Bingham drive if you know where that is."

"I ain't stupid girl,"

"I know you're not stupid, I just don't know if you've been around long enough to know your way around."

It was dead silent after that before I tried to turn on the radio.

"It don't work," Daryl gruffed.

"Why?" I questioned.

"My brother got drunk one night and fucked it up somehow."

"Well, I know a friend-"

"I don't need your help girl,"

"OK, I have a name,"

"What? Lil' sis? I ain't calling you that shit!"

"Well at least call me by my first or last name. I'm not just some girl you just met," I snapped.

"Get the fuck outta my car, you ungrateful bitch!" Daryl yelled ad he stopped the car.

"Ungrateful?! You know what!? Fine! Have a nice night Daryl...thanks for the ride while to lasted." I said getting out of the truck and watching Daryl take off. I huffed as ram the rest of the way home.

I got home shaking like a chihuahua. I took a shower and went to bed.

The next day I was working the front desk so I didn't really have to face Daryl. I was hoping that this week would past and I wouldn't have to face him after last night.

But with my luck, there was no such things as things going my way.
That might occurred almost like the last.
Except for today it was freezing cold tonight. I hated this bipolar weather.
Daryl came to the front.

"Hey, Dixon," I said not looking at him.

"Need a ride?"

"So you throw me out of the car mid-ride?" I questioned. "I'd rather ride Mona Lisa with no jacket." I retort as I walk away.

"Sorry..." He said.

I stopped dead in my tracks and made a 180° turn to face him. I sigh and bit my lip nervously. "I need to bring Mona home...can I load her in the truck back?"

He bit his fingernail before nodding.

"...I need to grab a few things I'll meet you in the truck." I say.

He nods. I go into the office and grab my jacket. I also bring some papers that needed going over. Before meeting Daryl outside and helping him get Mona Lisa in the back of his truck.
We get I'm the truck silently and he drives.

"What's with you and that jacket?" He asked.

"....My mom....she gave it to me before she died..." I said quietly twiddling my thumbs as I look down. "It was her favorite one," I said with a small smile.

"My mom died too...giving birth to me,"

"I'm sorry to hear that..." I mutter.

"Same for you,"

After that it just got silent. But it was good silence one that didn't give you the need to fill in the gaps or force conversation.

Finally we arrived in front of the house.

"Thanks Dixon," I say biting my lip.

"Daryl, Call me Daryl."

I smiled a bit. "Daryl, thanks,"

"Don't thank me yet,"

He hopped out and helped me unload Mona Lisa and I pushed her into the garage.

"Thanks, Daryl." I paused feeling off from saying his first name.

"See ya tomorrow,"

"Yea..." I say nodding.

He got into his truck and I watched him as he drove off.

"Mona...something...special this way comes," I say to my bike as I close the garage.

From that day Daryl started offering me a ride home more often. After a month it had even come to point where he stopped offering. Instead, I just followed him into the truck.

Once again it was closing time and Daryl came around the counter. I gave him a small smile. "It's Friday, finally!" I joked.

He scoffed and shook his head as his head dropped to the ground.

"Got any plans for tonight?" I asked curiously.

He shook his head. "You?"

"I don't really...have friends...my only family I got is my dad." I say with a small smile.

I noticed he started doing his little nervous tick where he bites his thumbnail. Even if there's no nail there. "Wanna get some drinks?"

I chuckled. "It's been a while but...I wouldn't mind." I say smiling.

"Meet you in the truck." He said with a small smile.

My heart fluttered witnessing such a rare action from him. I made him smile. I felt a little proud and giddy. I couldn't help but let an even bigger smile cross my face as I collected my pay for the week and ran to the truck. I lock the door as always and get inside.

I rolled down the window and let the wind blow my hair back.

"What're you doin woman?"

"Sounds like I upgraded. From girl to woman. What a change." I joked.

He scoffed before smiling a bit.

"I'm enjoying my first Friday out of the house in a long time," I say smiling contently. The rest of the ride was quiet. But it was always like this. Comfortable silence with the burst of random conversation. Daryl wasn't very open about somethings. But I found with time he opened up just a little more. With him, it would take time and I didn't mind it if I had to take the time to know him.

We ended up in front of a house.

"I thought we were going to a bar."

"Hate big crowds,"

"Understandable," I say.

We went inside the house. It was a bit messy and dirty but it was a house nonetheless I wouldn't complain.

"Where's your brother?" I asked sitting down in the living room.

"Some bar, won't be back all night." He quickly answered as he brings back a bottle with clear fluid in it.

"Moonshine.." He said plopping down on the couch beside me.

He took a swig before gesturing the bottle toward me.

"What? Too stuck up to drink from the bottle?" He challenged.

I took the bottle and hesitantly chugged a good bit of it before Daryl took it away.

"Damn girl it ain't water." He said with a small smile.

"Told you...it's been a while." I chuckled.

A couple of swigs later I found that a little bit of liquid courage was all it took to get Daryl talking.

"So do you have family?"

"...." He seemed to have tensed up when I said the word 'family' I was sensing that family was a touchy subject.

"You don't have to answer if you don't want to." I clarify.

"It's just my brother and I....my dad past two years ago.."

"Your brother...the one that fucked up the radio?"

"Meryl's a dick...but he's all I got."

"Hmm I never had a sibling...it was just me and my parents..." I sighed. "I was always so fuckin' lonely...and quiet as shit...my parents hated that!" I said chuckling. "My dad wouldn't always say how he wished I would be a little bit more social.." I slurred.

"Nah, You're good." He slurred a bit before taking another swig.

"What?" I chuckled.

"Nothing about you needs changing...you're..good like you are," Daryl said before taking another sip of the bottle.

"You're not too bad yourself Mr.Dixon," I slurred flirtatiously. I surprised myself with my tone. But I was too under the influence to think much of it.

"I ain't nothing special," He muttered.

"Daryl you are the kinda guy to be 'nothing special' but be the same guy that saves everybody's asses." I chuckled as I turn my body to face him. "You're a good man Daryl," I say softly. "You just don't want people taking advantage of you. I get that." I confess with a gentle smile.

We were close. Much closer than I of course anticipated. He cupped my cheek and brought me into a soft yet partially sloppy kiss. We slowly pulled away and I bit my bottom lip a bit already missing his lips on mine.

"Ain't sober to drive you home. Sleep here." Daryl muttered.

I nodded in agreement. "Thanks..." I say quietly.

"Come on, show you to my room." He said stumbling up. I got up and we held each other upwards as he showed me to his room. It wasn't much but just love the test of the house it was livable. With a full-sized bed with a variation of colored sheets. Next to it an old oak wood dresser.

"You're sleeping with me right?" I questioned.

"If you don't mind it."

"It's your bed. I don't mind." I say laying down.

The next morning I woke up with a small headache. In an unfamiliar room. I heard someone groan beside me. I turned around to see I was in bed with Daryl. I'm glad I wasn't extremely hungover and remembered what happened last night. Otherwise, I would have been very concerned.

Daryl shuffled around before looking at me.

"Hi," I said shyly. Daryl grunted in response.

"Got any Tylenol?"

"Bathroom cabinet. Down the hall on your left." He muttered. I got up and dragged myself to the bathroom and scowered through the cabinet before I finally found the Tylenol I popped one into my mouth and drunk some water straight from the faucet.

"Wooohwee! Look what we got here!" A voice called I quickly looked at the doorway to see a man who looked similar to Daryl. His brother I assumed.

"Um, hi," I say shyly.

"What's your name sweetheart?" He flirted.

"(Y/n), I work with Daryl...I need to take these pills to him." I chuckle trying to slip past him.

"Oohoohoo Darlina finally got him some." He teased.

"You're his brother, right?" I questioned.

"That's right sugartits Meryl's the name, now how about you come in my room and get some real action? Hm?" He said caressing my cheek I pulled away.

"No thanks," I duck under his arm and run to Daryl's room with the pill.

"Your brother's home," I inform Daryl.

Daryl rolled his eyes. "Drive you home in a bit." He grumbled.

"Take your time," I tell him I give him the pill and run into the kitchen in search of a cup to put water in but I found a fresh bottle of water so I brought it to Daryl.

"Here," I say giving it to him.

"Thanks." He said before chucking the pill into his mouth and downing some water.

"You're welcome," I say with a small smile.

I lay back down and Daryl groans and wraps his arm around me tightly. I blushed heavily as I aid in his arms and we dozed off. We woke up and I made (including Meryl) us breakfast. Then finally Daryl drove me home.

"Sorry 'bout Meryl." Daryl apologizes clearly embarrassed.

"It's OK, Meryl's an interesting person."

"The hell does that mean?!" He exclaimed.

"I meant no harm in it!" I defend. "I mean he's just different in a good way. I can see why you too are brothers. You both care for each other even if you didn't care to show it. Meryl..does have his quirks. But he's not a completely evil guy."

"Even after what he said to you."

Meryl said that I was a good cook but took it a little too far as to say. "See Daryl this is where women belong! In a kitchen."

"I overlook it and took the compliment."

He drove me to my house and after that day things were a bit different. Some days after work Daryl and I would go to random places just to be alone for a little. He would take me to the woods and teach me how to hunt or he would stay at mines and go home a day or two later. Sometimes but rarely would I stay with him. He didn't trust Meryl too much around me. As days went by we grew closer not only as friends buts as...lovers?

One day Daryl seemed off. He was jittery. Nervous if i'm honest.

It was like any normal night. I talked to my pops before the night was up then I was free to go.

"Got something I need to show ya when we get to yours," Daryl mumbled to me.

"Okay," I say nodding.

When we got to my house. I opened the door and he stormed inside.

"OK Daryl what is it you need to show me?" I asked him.

He paced the living room floor biting his fingernails.

"You keep on you're gonna have nothing but nubs." I chuckled

He sent a quick glare my way before rolling his eyes. "Sit down." He muttered.

I sat down. "OK so what's this about."

Daryl took off his shirt and turned around to reveal the scars on his back.

I stood up and ran my back across each scar as a tear left my eye.

"Daryl," I swallow the lump in my throat. "Who did this to you?" I rasped.

"My old man...used to beat the shit outta me when he was drunk....told me it was my fault my mom died." He said not looking at me.

"Daryl..." I whispered as tears freely fell from my eyes.

"Meryl protected me when he could..."

I wrapped my arms around his waist and held him the best I could before kissing his scars.

After that Daryl was more than opened to me. We were almost vulnerable to each other. We were nearing a year of this very intimate relationship without a name. I didn't pressurize the situation even though it was burning inside.
Then one day something flipped in him...
He distanced himself from me. Stop giving me rides to work. Wouldn't talk to me. But I confronted him one night.

"Daryl," I say.

He tried to brush past me but I was too quick.

"Hey! Daryl talk to me."

"Whatever it is we had...can't be anymore..." He muttered.

My heart dropped into my stomach and I felt a sensation similar to watching the world burn before your very eyes.

"You don't get to come into MY life!" I say pointing at my chest. "Get close to me and choose to leave for some unknown reason!" I say crying. "You can't just- make somebody feel whole then snatch the happiness back!" I grab my helmet and get on Mona Lisa. Without hesitation, I left and never looked back and the memories of us flooded my mind. The late-night conversations, The jokes, the laughter, the smiles we shared... The happiness. The fog clouded the inside of my helmet and suddenly I seen a bright light in front of me and within an instant, the world went black.

Same hospital Rick wakes up in...
(You wake up before him.)

I open my eyes and gasped for air.

"Mona," I groaned before I went into a coughing fit. I noticed how unsettlingly quiet it was in the hospital. Normally you can hear the busy noises. The sounds of other machines. But then I realize my own machine is off. I roughly yanked the needle out of my arm and use the IV bag tube to support my weight as I struggled to get up. Finally, I walked out. I spotted a man who also seemed to be in the same predicament I was in.

"Pst." I say.

He turns around and walks toward me.

"Thank, God," He sighed.

"What..hap.pened?" I rasp.

"I don't know I just woke up."

"Wa.Wa. ter." I struggle.

He guided me back into my room and lead me into the bathroom before turning on the faucet. I leaned in and drunk from the faucet desperately.

I breathed heavily before I finally caught my breath. "We need to get outta here...but carefully...something obviously isn't right here," I say quietly. We found our way through the hospital.

"Oh my god," I say looking at all the dead bodies. We ran and he found a bike o ran around and found a skateboard. Luckily I did that during high school. I followed him into his neighborhood. He went looking for his family he didn't. He came back outside after 20 minutes of yelling and questioning his sanity.

We then ran into a man and his son. The son, unfortunately, knocks my guy out with a shovel.

"Kid what the hell is wrong with you!?" I questioned.

I heard a gunshot behind me and I jumped.

"You know they don't talk son." The black man said.

"Why would you shoot that man!?" I questioned.

"Woman that wat'nt no man. What's his wound!?" He questioned pointing the gun at me.

"I don't know!! we just met we left the hospital!!"

"Were you bit?" He asked.

"Bit? No, I was on my bike and then I guess I crashed...I woke up in the hospital." I say trying to make sense of everything.

"Come with me and my boy." He says.

I follow him and help the guy tote my buddy to his place.

"What's ya name?"

"(Y/n), yours?"

"Morgan, that's my boy wade....they did talk about that motorcycle crash on the news before it all went to hell...you're lucky to be alive... Yet alone walkin."

"What'd I crash into?"

"A truck, most thoughts it was a suicide attempt."

"I couldn't see inside my helmets.... I guess I was on the wrong side of the road." I sighed.

"You've been out for months..."

"So can you explain to me what the hell is going on?"

"I'll explain when your friend wakes up."

Soon the man wakes up. We all properly introduce ourselves over a meal as Morgan tells us how the world went to hell. After a day or two of recovery, Rick drove us to the police station. He explained that the station had its own backup generators. I was so relieved to know I was gonna be able to take a hot shower after all the shit investment been through.

"Women's locker room is over there," Rick said giving me a towel as he points to the other door.

"Thanks," I say with a small smile when I got in the shower I couldn't help but think about...that night... My final moments with Daryl. Tears slipped downstairs my face but it blends in with the waters. I watched them go down the drain not being able to tell tears from the water. I got out of the shower and got dressed.

"Thanks for everything Rick," I say smiling.

"No, Problem... I'm headed to Atlanta to find my family."

"I need to find my bike and my pops...if not then I'm headed to South Carolina."

Rick hands me a gun and a knife.
"Know how to use it?" He questioned.

"Mom loved the shooting range...trust me I know how." I chuckled.

Before we parted ways Rick gave us each a walkie.

"Are you sure you don't wanna come with me to Atlanta? Your pops could be there."

"My dad never trusted the government. He most likely fought against the grain and went elsewhere." I explained.

"Be safe I hope you find your dad."

"Good look finding your wife and son sheriff," I say walking off to find another vehicle. I found a mustang. I hot wired it and headed towards the shop. Once there I took out a couple of walkers...I tried not to pay attention to the way they looked. Out of fear I would recognize one of them as a fellow worker.

I found Mona Lisa... She was perfectly fine. Which I wasn't expecting, then I assumed that my dad fixed her up for me knowing I would want to start riding her as soon as I could. Even if I had an accident. I loved that bike, sometimes more than life itself. I got on the bike and head to my dad's house to realize he wasn't there. I sighed and used my spare key in the hidden compartment hidden in my bike and went inside and decided to just grab a bag and get some goods. Whatever I could find would be useful.

Rick's POV:
I finally found my family. We were all gathered around the campfire. They asked me how I made it out

"I woke up in the hospital...I thought I was alone...but I ran into a woman. (Y/n)-"

"What'd you say?" Daryl came out of nowhere to ask.

I turned around. "(Y/n),"

"What was her injury?" Daryl asked.

"She got in a motorcycle accident."

"Why didn't she come?" (Your dad's name) asked

"She wanted to find her dad and if she didn't find her she was headed to-."

"South Carolina..." (Your Dad's Name) said. "Of course I told her to head south..we have distant relatives there....do you have any idea where she may be now?!"

I shook my head.

Years later..(at the prison)

Your POV:

I gave up on trying to find my dad. After being in many failed groups I decided it was best to be a lone wolf. Me and Mona Lisa. Right now I'm in the woods searching for dinner. Maybe a rabbit. Be lucky to find a deer. Anything will do...I haven't eaten in three days. So it was time for some type of food.

Daryl's POV:

I'm going hunting today, I've been inside these damn walls too long I could use time to myself.

"Got everything you need?" Rick asked as I prepared for my trip. I nodded in response. "Be back before sundown," Rick said patting my shoulder.

"OK," I say as I get on my motorcycle. They open the gate and I go out as they shut the gate quickly behind me.

I drove out a good distance before I stopped near a forest. I went to hide my bike in some nearby broken branches and leaves only to discover that someone else had their bike hidden already. But it wasn't just any bike....

"Son of a bitch...." I muttered.

As nice of a thought it would be that I'd find her I had to be cautious. Anybody could take a motorcycle nowadays. I hid my motorcycle the best I could before carefully making my way through the woods. I had to keep in mind another person is in the area. I kept my guard up and my finger on the trigger ready to shoot. I heard the leaves rustling behind me and I turned around to see a deer. I shot it and another arrow hit in nearly the same damn spot.

"I don't know what the fuck you saw dude. But my arrow definitely landed first." I familiar female voice call. I looked up to the source of the voice.

"(Y/n)?"

She let out a dry chuckle before rolling her eyes. "Now look at what we have here. Daryl. Fucking. Dixon everybody!" She said laughing. " Now, I knew your stubborn ass would survive. I had no doubt in my mind you had. But running into you?" She questioned. "Shit the world just keeps getting smaller and smaller!" She said grinning.

"Why the hell you talking like that for?" I asked putting my crossbow down.

"Like what Mr.Dixon? I'm just little ol' me. (Y/n) (L/n)-" She teased. "Well except with a crossbow and machete." She said holding them up. "Shit Dixon, I don't know too much about me but you? Seems like you haven't changed a bit. Well you need a haircut but hair is the last of your worries- anyways, I need to eat tonight. I haven't ate in 3 days. Now normally ," She sighed as she rolled her shoulder blades. "I would fight you for this deer- But I'll give you the old friend discount and you can have half the deer." She said smiling. "C'mon old pal, say something." She said smiling.

"Come with me," I tell her.

"Excuse me?" she said laughing with an eyebrow raised and a hand on her hip.

"I got a group and your pops is there."

"Pops? He's still alive?" She questioned surprised.

I nodded.

"This group of yours any good?" She questioned

"They are good people," I answer honestly.

"Well, this could be a trap but I have a good feeling it's not."

"You think I'm a rapist or some shit-"

"I don't think anything other than I need to be on guard. I didn't accuse you of shit Daryl Dixon. I've been surviving on my own for a long fucking time and I very quickly learned how people love to turn on you. So sorry if I come off suspicious I have every right to be." She quickly snapped. "So are you gonna lead me to my pops are what?" She said picking the deer up.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed as I picked up the other end of the deer by its hind legs.

We walked in silence towards our bikes. "Whose bike are we putting it on?" She asked.

"Mine," I tell her. She lets go of it and grabs her bike.

"Bitch," I muttered.

"Thanks," She said smiling sarcastically. She followed me on her bike to the prison.

Once we arrived in the prison she got off the bike. "So our place of refuge is a prison?" She questioned. "Never thought I'd live to see the day..." She joked while sighing.

"(Y/n)?" Rick said

"Mr.Grimes?" She said laughing. "Well isn't this just a box of coincidences."

Rick chuckled and pulled her in for a hug.

"Where have you been?" He asked.

"Ah, everywhere really." She shrugged it off.
"We brought a deer hope this could be considered a peace offering on my behalf." She joked.

Rick smiled. "I think somebody would love to see you." He said ushering her into the prison.

Your POV:

"Pops!" I say and he turns to me with a huge smile. I go into his cell and hug him.

My dad and I talked for a while before Rick cleared his throat.

"Hate to ruin the reunion but (Y/n) I need to talk to you."

"Of course Sheriff," I say.

I follow Rick out of the cell.

"So um, I know we've had a run-in- in the past but I have to be careful. I have my family here-" he started.

"I understand so what do you need of me?" I asked.

"How many walkers have you killed?" He asked

"I don't keep track but a lot," I say shrugging

"How many people have you killed?"

I grimaced at that question. "I'm not too sure...." I say

"What does that mean?" He said looking at me wearily.

"I've brutally injured people in order to escape from them but I never went to check if they were still alive after I've done damage," I said simply.

"Was it out of self-defense?"

"All for times that I'm had to do it yes. I'd never anyone out of pure anger. Only to survive." I confess.

"Welcome to the group." He said patting my back. "Dinner will be done shortly, Go meet everyone, relax, settle in. I'm pretty sure you and Daryl have a lot to talk about." He said patting my shoulder as he walked away.

I rolled my eyes. "Like hell we do." I say going back to my dad's cell. Soon dinner time rolled around and everyone gathered outside in the line to eat. Daryl was there, he was there and he kept looking at me. I suddenly lost my appetite because of it.
But my dad got me a plate anyways.

"What's wrong?" My dad asked.

"I suddenly lost my hunger." I sighed.

"When was the last time you ate?"

"Three days going on 4 I guess." I sighed again.

"No, you need to eat. Even if you don't feel like it. You need to eat." My dad told me shoving my plate towards me and I reluctantly ate.

"Mr.Dixon sir thank you for catching the deer. It would be an honor to shake your hand." A little boy said.

Daryl licked off each individual finger before holding his hand out. The boy looked repulsed. I scoffed before getting up and shaking the boys hand.

"I helped him." I say smiling. "Though I totally think my arrow hit first." I joked making the kid smile.

"Well thank you as well, ma'am." The kid said.

"It was no big deal kiddo." I say smiling as he runs off.

I smile and begin to walk off.
"So you ain't gonna talk to me no more?" Daryl asked.

"Give me one good reason why I should?" I say looking back at him. He seemingly couldn't and I rolled my eyes. "Where's Meryl?"

"...gone."

"Sorry to hear that," I say before walking back to my table with my dad.

"What'd you two talk about?" My dad asked.

"Nothing really, there isn't anything worth talking about."

"Y'know, (Y/n) I know what Daryl did hurt you a lot. But I think you shoulder give him another shot. I've been around him long enough to know him and well...you'd be surprised to know that he really misses you. He never stopped apologizing, He blamed himself every day for you not being here....he missed you just as much as I did. You should give him a chance. Talk to him." My dad said and I sighed.

"Fine, I'll talk to him." I say. I walk up to Daryl avoiding eye contact.

"Where's your cell?" I mumble.

"I sleep in the towers." He tells me.

"Hm," I hum looking at the guard towers. "I'll meet you in that one. After lights out." I say pointing at the closest one.

He simply nods and I walk away.

After dinner, I went up to the tower. I had two bottles of Jack Daniels. From being on the road alone. I hit the jackpot in a liquor store and took as much as I could so I could drink those lonely nights away. But now my nerves were instantly shot and I was pacing the floor as I waited. I ended up drinking the whole bottle and then half of the other. I started thinking about all the good times Daryl and I had. All the hurt that I believed I was completely over resurfaced. I began to openly cry. Then, I heard the door open.

I sniffled and quickly wiped my eyes. I looked up to see Daryl.

"Hey Dixon," I greeted.

"Where'd ya get these?" He asked picking up the empty bottle.

"Ssssomewhere over the rainbow~" I slurred before giggling. I take the bottle away from him and before I could take a swig Daryl snatched the bottle back.

"You don't need any more of this." He tells me as I drop onto a nearby sofa.

"I will never understand you Dixon. Why you outta nowhere with no explanation decide. You don't wanna be with me. I woke up in that hospital scared and my first fuggin thought...is where is Daryl? Is he OK? Mind you I'm in a hospital...I'm still weak as shhit." I say with tears running down my face. "Yet, I'm concerned about my ex- whatever the fuck we were." I say flailing my arms around.
"Y-*HIC* yet here you are waltzing in the tower telling me to put the bottle down. As if you actually care. I have a poem that suits my situation. You were red, and you liked me because I was blue. But you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky....and you decided purple wasn't for you...how dare you come into my life...infect my thoughts...my heart...my soul..." I said choking up. "Become my world....then just disappear! Leaving me up in space floating like everything we had was nothing!" I yell.

"It wasn't nothing, I...."

"What? You loved me? But then left me..."

"Meryl put all kinds of thoughts in my head telling me that I was nothing to you and you would find someone better the moment you could."

"Daryl sometimes you can be a fuckin idiot....the hottest celebrity could walk in the room flashing cash and have his shirt unbuttoned showing his fair tanned skin and shiny abs and I would still pick you over him any day of the week." I scoffed. "I knew that Meryl was all you had and he was family but never did I think-"

"m'sorry..." Daryl apologized. "I will be every day for what I did."

My heart did back flips as I took note of his sincerity. I knew he regretted it. I swore I was over it.
I'm over it
I'm so over it...it over him...
I'm.....still in love with him...

I bolted off of the couch. My body collided with his and I forced my lips onto his as I wrapped my arms around his neck. Daryl wraps his arms around my waist.

"How dare you become everything and more to me and then leave..."I  mutter against his lips.

"I never wanted to hurt you sunshine...." He said softly.

If you want this again...kiss me..." I say against his lips and he pushes me against the wall and kisses me roughly. Before pulling away. "Don't stop...." I beg and he pushes his lips on mine as he pulled my shirt off.

I heard somebody clear their throats and we pull away. But I quickly hide my self, Daryl

It was the Korean guy? Glenn, I think. He was wearing a shit-eating grin that said it all.

"Maggie and I heard some ruckus from this tower and wanted to make sure everything fine...I can see now that is better than fine."

I looked away. "Yup," I muttered.

"You know if you two need protection we have a couple we wouldn't mind sharing," Glenn mentions before leaving.

"Get outta here man!" Daryl exclaimed.

Glenn chuckled and left us.

I looked back up at him and felt every feeling I did many years ago. I smiled softly and buried my face into his shoulder and held onto him.

"You'll never leave me again right...?" I asked softly.

"I'll die before I do." He said and kissed me softly.

I chuckled softly. "Then I take it you won't ever leave me," I say nuzzling him.
