Judging Criteria for the TOTAL 5 Chapters:

1. Cover (/5)

[Was it eye-catching/boring/average? Did it fit well with the story and its theme? Did it make you want to read the book?]

2. Book Title (/5)

[Was it common/rare/outstanding? Did it fit well with the story and its theme? Did it impress you?]

3. Blurb (/10)

[Did it portray the story's theme well? Or did it say too much and ruins the essence? Did it encourage you to read the book or not?]

4. Plot (/20)

[Was it extraordinary? Mild? Engaging? Was there any interesting plot twist? Did the story make you eager to read more? Did the situations bring out any emotion for you or not? Were there any major/minor plot holes?]

5. Character and its development (/20)

[Was the protagonist interesting or bland? Were the characters realistic or not? Were any of the characters relatable? Did the characters go through significant changes or they stay same as they were in the beginning?]

6. Creativity & Originality (/15)

[Did the author introduce or make something new? Did it seem too cliche? Or did it hold something different? Did the creativity make sense to you or not?]

7. Vocabulary & Word Choice (/10)

[Were there any use of phrases? Was the writing too bland with no different sense of words? Or was it beautiful with interesting words?]

8. Spelling & Grammar & Punctuation (/15)

[Were there many spelling mistakes, typos? Was there a lot of sentence and punctuation error? Did the errors hinder the syntax of the sentences?]

9. Enjoyment (/10)

[Did you enjoy the story? Will you continue reading it or not?]

10. Writing Style (/10)

[Was the style of writing left you with a sense for more? Or with a sense of longing? Or nothing? Was the writing style fun/unique/serious/boring?]

11. Story Flow (/10)

[How was the flow between chapters? Did it feel like everything was happening too fast or too slow?]

12. Genre Justification (/10)

[Was the book really a Romance novel?]

13. Overall impression (/10)

[Did you like/enjoy reading it? Did it have what it takes to win? Any suggestions for the author to improve the book? What were strengths and weaknesses of the book? Your honest thoughts about the book.]

Judging should begin immediately after books have been assigned to judges. Judges have 2 days before deadline. We would like to make this a quick award so there should be no delay in judging.
