I have no plans of interacting with anyone right now. I was at the roof the most peaceful spot in the palace. I glance at the view lost in my own little world. I let myself cried feeling bitter towards my situation.
"Princess Evangeline. It's not safe for you up here alone." A guard said.
I didn't say anything. When, the guard approach. I rolled my eyes and wipe away my tears (the guards cannot see me cried and as weak like Eira). "What do you want!?" I spat not caring if I sound rude. I have a terrible day and my family made it worse. Especially, Miss Goodie Two Shoes ruin my life!
"I just want to make sure you're safe. Being out here alone can make you an easy target for rebels," he said moving to stand next to me.
I grumbled something under my breath. "Please, like any body cares that I died! My brothers will be happy and won't protect me. When, it comes to my perfect older sister who is weak." I ranted. Wait, why am I telling this guard about my problems? Like, anyone else. He may not care or understand. But, it's the way he is concern about me and how intent of listening to me. Made me trust him, despite my ways and shutting myself away from the world and be this snotty girl with a bad attitude.
"I don't think your brothers will be happy if you died. They love you after all," he said.
"How do you know that?" I whispered refusing to look at him in the eyes. "Everyone hates me except maybe Brendan, but still!" I said so frustrated.
The guard sighed. "At least come inside for my sake. I would appreciate a bloodless rounds," he said taking out his hand.
I'm quite stubborn. So, I shock my head. "No can do." I remarked looking up at the moon and stars. "I just need a moment to myself without my family."
"I'm sure there are other places without your family," the guard offered.
"That is?" I asked narrowing my eyes into his. "What is your name officer?" I added. "I mean your first name, not your surname."
"Will your majesty. Will Harrison," he said.
I nodded. "Alright Will, you don't mind showing me those places that can help me escape?" I asked smiling a little. Not to mention, Will is so hot and man I think I've a crush on him.
Will offered his hand. "Absolutely." He said said with a small smile.
I took his hand and follow him inside. "Sorry, you have to see me like that an emotional mess. But, I'm not like that all the time." I replied staring at the ground.
"It's alright. Everyone has those days." He said as he led me inside.
I felt so better in his presence. "Are you near Eira's age?" I asked cringing. When, I mentioned my older sister that I despite so much. "I hope not. I can't stand her!"
"I am. I'm just a year older," he said.
"So, pretty much. You are, near my cousin Genevieve's age?" I asked feeling relief. "Anyways, where are you taking me?"
"A place where your family can't bother you." Will said.
I was curious of this place, but didn't say. How can this sweet young man help a girl like me, but I didn't care. He is sweet and understanding. "Ok." I replied a smile spreading across my face.
Will led me through a maze of halls that led us into the main hall. From there he led me into an empty room and a side room off that was hidden behind a wall.
I looked around my surroundings, so intrigued by it all. "This place sounds amazing!" I said feeling happy.
"It's a place I discovered accidentally. I was supposed to report to Eira's room, but found this instead. There's a door somewhere that leads to her room, but I haven't found it," Will said. "You can hear anything in her room, but nothing from here."
I was so amazed. "I love it!" I said sitting down on the cot and gesture for him to sit next to me. "This can be our secret get away!"
Will smiled. "I know you would love it."
"I do." I said smiling even brighter. "Thank you for showing me this place." I added so grateful.
"It was nothing." He said. "Just a vacant room."
"Nothing? It's something to me, Will Harrison." I said using his full name. I like how I pronounced it so elegantly. "It's special and my secret get away place from my crazy family!"
Will laughed. "I better get back to my rounds," he said.
"Right, will I be able to see you again?" I asked hoping to see him around and simply hang out with him again. I just want to hear his voice, see his tender smile that melt my heart, and just simply be with him.
"Yes, you will." He said with a smile.
My eyes light up, which is rare to find in me. "Good I might need your company." I murmur. "Now report back to your rounds. Before, you get in trouble with my Uncle Lucas and Daniel. Not to mention, the hell you will get from my father."
Will smiled. "Will do," he said as he left the room.
I smiled as he left, and fell asleep in the room. That, Will show me and possible adventures in my life.
