See that girl over there?  That's Barbara Gordon, wife of Prince Richard of the kingdom of Gotham. She looks happy, doesn't she? Well it wasn't always this way...

Years ago, before she became Princess Barbara, she was an ordinary girl. Well aside from her father, James (Preferably Jim) Gordon being on the Royal Guard for King Bruce. She had a mother too, Barbara Gordon I. Sadly she had died and her father had remarried a woman named Sarah Essen.

Later on Barbara's father had to leave and unfortunately died after a battle with the Kingdom of Jesters. So she was stuck with Sarah Essen and her two daughters, Zatanna and Koriand'r who made her clean and do everything around the house, she even had to feed the cat Alfred!

One day she got a letter, can you guess who it was from? It was from the castle! She runs up to the living room in excitement and shows her stepmother the invitation. Sarah snatches it from Barbara's hands. Sarah smiles.

"Girls!!" Sarah shouts down the hall and Zatanna and Kori come down the stairs in a regal fashion.

"Yes mother?" They say in unison.

"Come, we are going to the tailor to find you dresses." Zatanna and Kori cheer with glee. Sarah turns to her step-daughter.

"Barbara, you're coming with us."

"I am!" Barbara exclaims in surprise. Sarah frowns.

"Oh don't get to excited, you are just holding the dresses for us." Sarah then walks out the door and her daughters turn to Barbara.

"Who would choose you? I mean you're covered in soot!" Zatanna says with a laugh as Barbara looks down at herself.

"We should give you a new name. How about... Cinderella!!!" Kori says happily as they mock Barbara more and more before going to the market to pick out their dresses.
