Ch87 Le Paon
Guys I was right about Master Fu trusting Ladybug to choose the weilder of the fox miraculous, I hope I was right about Adrien choosing Chloe as well >.<
It's amazing how much of my book predictions have actually come true, I was re-reading my fanfic and the chapter "unconditional love" is like the Glaciator episode cuz Cat Noir sets up a rooftop date and that's when Ladybug starts to like him; and it was confirmed that there are other levels to the miraculous box. Anyway, let's keep the chapters going because I already know who I want to be the peacock villain, I've planned out the whole story, so maybe that's one more thing I'll get right, I hope I'm right about the power it has ;)
Also, idk if it's just me bc I watched the French version and the voice of Trixx sounded like a boy lol, I made Trixx a girl.

[Narrator's POV]
Marinette and Adrien wave their teammates goodbye as they hop out of Adrien's window one by one.
"I'm going to have hell to pay for this the next time I see Alya." Marinette says.
"Are you really sure about this?" Adrien asks.
"Yeah, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee are our friends, we chose to trust them. Plus Carapace was chosen by the guardian himself. I think those three deserve to know the most." Marinette reasons. "Why? Are you worried?"
"No...it was just so easy for them." Adrien pouts. "You never wanted to show me your secret identity; I had to wait years of being your partner!"
Marinette giggles and wraps her arms around Adrien. "You were always so convinced that it was because I didn't care for you. Ever considered that it was because I cared too much?"
Adrien looks down at Marinette, who smiles softly.
"You're my partner, Adrien. I always valued your opinion over anyone else's and you seemed to love Ladybug so dearly...I didn't want you to be disappointed." Marinette says honestly. "I used to be so insecure about my true self, but you taught me that Marinette is just as valued as Ladybug."
Adrien smiles and kisses Marinette. "I love you so much princess."
"I love you too, chatton." Marinette replies.
Adrien's face suddenly lights up. "Hey, I wonna show you something."
Adrien pulls Marinette over to his computer. He sits down on his desk chair and pats his lap with a grin. Marinette smiles before taking a seat in Adrien's lap. Adrien wraps his arms around her to reach his keyboard.
"I always wished my mom was still around to meet you..." Adrien says.
Marinette's heart aches sadly. "Oh, Adrien..."
"It's okay," Adrien assures her. "Now I can at least introduce you to her."
The Bird Blog webpage loads up on Adrien's screen.
"Wasn't she amazing? And beautiful too." Adrien says happily. "Nathaniel told me about Le Paon today and showed me this blog. I've never felt closer to my mother."
"She sounds...miraculous." Marinette replies as she reads over the blog. "No wonder you're such an amazing person."
Adrien hugs Marinette and kisses her on the neck before resting his chin on her shoulder. Marinette's eyes slowly widen as she reaches the description of Le Paon, along with the blurry picture of her.
"Adrien..." Marinette breathes.
"Yes?" Adrien says.
"This is the mastermind." Marinette says, her voice shaky with shock.
"What?" Adrien responds in confusion.
Marinette points at the computer screen and reads the words aloud, "An angelic maiden dressed in flowing feathers that resemble a tropical ocean."
Marinette turns to look at Adrien. It is then that he notices the seriousness in her expression.
"The tropical angel that visited Austin Bradley. Le Paon must be the mastermind behind that villainous gang." Marinette concludes.
Realisation dawns on Adrien's face. "No...how?"
"Someone's found the peacock miraculous." Marinette says solemnly.
"No..." Adrien whimpers, lowering his head sadly. "It can't be. That's my mom's..."
"I know, Adrien. Don't worry we'll get it back." Marinette says gently.
Adrien clenches his fists angrily. "My mother's legacy...I'm going to find whoever it is destroying her name. I'm going to get back her miraculous."
Marinette gets up off of Adrien's lap and extends a hand. "Let's go see Master Fu. We have to tell him what we know and hopefully he'll give us some information in return."
Adrien takes Marinette's hand and stands up. He gives a determined nod before heading out with her. They walk to Master Fu's residence in their civilian forms, thinking it is safer that way. Once outside the door, Adrien pauses.
"Mari..." Adrien says quietly, squeezing Marinette's hand. "I'm scared."
Marinette looks at Adrien sadly. "Whatever we find out today doesn't change who your mother was, Adrien."
Adrien takes a deep breath and slides open the door to Master Fu's massage room where he is sitting patiently, enjoying a cup of tea. Master Fu lowers his cup slowly to peer at the two newcomers. He eyes their linked hands and smiles to himself before setting down his tea.
"Welcome, heroes." Master Fu greets kindly. "What brings you here?"
Marinette and Adrien take a seat in front of Master Fu. Adrien's heart is pounding, he is clearly too anxious to speak, so Marinette takes initiative.
"We believe someone has found the peacock miraculous," Marinette says. "Whoever it is, they are using it for evil. They are trying to harm Alya in order to get to us. So far the villain has been attacking from the shadows. Master Fu, we need to know what we're up against."
Master Fu ponders silently for a moment as if choosing his words.
"There is no better way to say this I am afraid," He begins. "There is a reason I utilised five of the most powerful miraculouses to build up a team in preparation for what I have been dreading ever since I lost that miraculous...The peacock miraculous is by far the most dangerous of them all. It has rarely ever been gifted to a hero in fear of what it may be used for..."
Adrien feels a pang in his chest, sadness straining his expression. "If it's so dangerous, how is it that my mother once possessed it?"
Master Fu's eyes spark with interest. "So your mother was once Le Paon?" Master Fu's gaze lingers on Adrien for a moment but he averts his eyes as he continues. "I am sorry for your loss..."
"You didn't answer my question." Adrien says, his voice quivering with distress. "My mother was a hero. She—She died a hero!"
Still, Master Fu does not meet Adrien's eye. He stares down at his teacup silently. A moment passes before Adrien says painfully,
"Were you her guardian...?"
Marinette looks at Adrien worriedly; she knows what he is thinking. Adrien runs a hand through his hair. He can't believe he has trusted this man all along, the one who was supposed to look over and protect his mother. The one that forced the responsibility on her in the first place. The one that lead her to her early death...
Adrien scoffs and shakes his head. Some Guardian. He can't be here right now. He is about to get up when Master Fu finally speaks.
"I was not your mother's guardian, Adrien." He says. "I was once one of many—The Order of the Guardians, a group that existed for many years with the sole purpose to protect and deliver miraculouses. The Guardian's temple was our home...my home. It is where guardians were trained and miraculouses were kept."
Adrien listens intently. If there really is a place like this, then perhaps he could learn more about his mother there.
"So there are more guardians? More miraculouses? Where?" He questions.
Marinette's chest tightens. She knows exactly what had befallen that place, Master Fu had told her that the temple fell a long time ago...
"The peacock miraculous had never in all those years been used..." Master Fu says, shaking his head. "Until I chose to trust its power to a woman I once loved, one who used me and manipulated me in the hopes of gaining the Ultimate Power."
Marinette and Adrien stare at the guardian in shock as he talks.
"I was armoured by the peacock miraculous. It is truly beautiful, angelic even, and it's power..." Master Fu hangs his head guiltily. "But that woman was not impressed when I didn't provide her with the Ladybug or Cat miraculouses. She abused the power I gave her. She destroyed the temple in search for the other miraculouses. She burnt my home to the ground..."
"No..." Adrien says shakily. "She wouldn't—"
"That woman," Master Fu interrupts. "Was not your mother, Adrien. This took place years before she was even born."
Adrien relaxes slightly, though his heart is still racing.
"I took what I could and fled but I had lost the butterfly miraculous and the miraculous spellbook, which you have thankfully returned to me." Master Fu says. "Years later when I heard of the mysterious peacock heroine wandering Paris, I came here immediately, but by then your mother had already met her most unfortunate fate and her miraculous had disappeared along with her. So, I settled into a new life here in the hopes of regaining what I had lost all those years ago. But I must admit that I am afraid...afraid the Le Paon will take Paris from me just like The Order of the Guardians..."
"But Master Fu, what is this terrible power?" Marinette asks desperately.
"To manipulate, just like the one who started all of this..." Master Fu says, a hint of disgust in his voice. "The peacock miraculous gives you the power to take control of other's minds."
"Mind Flayer..." Adrien whispers.
"That explains why all those people would talk as if they shared a mind, it was one person talking through them—and why they are now so unresponsive, Le Paon must not be transformed so she has no control over them," Marinette says. "But why isn't the link broken? And what about Austin Bradley?"
"An akumatized villain would still be akumatized if Hawkmoth had detransformed and would stay so until you purified the akuma. The Ladybug's miraculous creates things you see, and this can also be used to fix damage." Master Fu explains. "But an infection in someone's mind requires healing. A power that only the turtle miraculous possesses."
Adrien's eyes widen with realisation. "Carapace had covered both you and Austin in an Ultimate Shield when he was protecting you from a bullet. So he must have healed Austin!"
Marinette stands up suddenly. "We have to get Carapace to heal the rest of those people, but it will take time since he'll have to recharge after each one. We should contact the team right now and tell them what we know."
Adrien looks at Master Fu uneasily before standing up as well. "Alright..."
"Good luck you two." Master Fu says.
Marinette and Adrien bow respectfully before leaving. Adrien stares at his feet as he walks, deep in thought.
"What's up?" Asks Marinette.
"The Bird Blog had talked about my mother so highly. She was praised for how brave and selfless she was, jumping into danger but always managing to inspire change...but the whole time she was using that kind of power." Adrien answers. "Suicide bombers and other terrorists, kidnappers and thieves...she didn't change their hearts, she changed their minds."
Marinette hangs her head sorrowfully. She can't help but feel as though she has ruined this for Adrien. He was so excited about the Bird Blog and his mother, and she promised him that this trip wouldn't change who she was.
"But she still saved all those people—" Marinette tries.
"And what about the criminals? She couldn't control them all forever, she couldn't let them go, so what? She would just transform back into her normal self and live her normal life while all those people remained thoughtless, motionless zombies—Just like the ones we saw in jail, completely lifeless." Adrien says. "My mom may have saved a lot of lives, but she also must have taken many..."
"We're talking about serious villains here Adrien, not your everyday street thief." Marinette reasons. "I know it's grim to think about, but at least they couldn't hurt anyone that way...your mother was just doing what she thought was right. I'm not exactly supporting it, but your mom wasn't a bad person."
Adrien takes a deep breath and nods. "Thanks, princess."
"If you want we could give this a rest for today," Marinette says. "We don't have to tell the team about Le Paon just yet."
Adrien grips Marinette's hand and intertwines their fingers. "I would like that. How about we just go out and get some ice cream?"
Marinette smiles and cuddles Adrien's arm, leaning against his shoulder. "I would love nothing more, kitty."
