"Love Isn't The Key"

Every time he hurt me, he apologized. Because he felt bad for making me feel bad. And I accepted his apology, every time, because I am only human. People do what they need to do to protect themselves from the things they fear. I feared getting hurt, getting scarred beyond recovery. So every time I forgave him, I let the hurt go.
But just because I forgave, doesn't mean I forgot. I thought our love was the kind where cruelty could never intervene. At these times, I thought that love is the key to all our problems. If we're together, we can solve anything. But honey, love isn't the key to happiness.
