Chapter 3

The next day, as the sun streamed through the hospital windows, Shubman was finally getting discharged. Aadhya, ever the responsible daughter and doctor, was handling all the discharge procedures with meticulous care, making sure every document was signed and all the instructions were noted.

Shubman sat in a wheelchair, looking slightly annoyed but also relieved that he could finally go home. As the nurse wheeled him out, he gave Aadhya a teasing smile. "I hope you're not going to make me follow every single one of those instructions, Doctor."

Aadhya smirked. "Oh, you bet I am. You're not getting away with anything, Dad."

Sara chuckled as she unlocked the car and helped Shubman settle in the front seat. "I'll make sure he behaves."

Once Shubman was comfortable, Sara slid into the driver's seat and started the car. Aadhya and Ahaan climbed into the back, and almost immediately, Aadhya's phone buzzed with new messages.

She opened the group chat that she shared with Ahaan, Samaira, Vamika, Akaay, and Agastya. The group had been buzzing with excitement ever since the idea of a trip came up, and now, with her dad finally out of the hospital, Aadhya was ready to dive back into the planning.

Aadhya: Alright, guys. Papa's out of the hospital, so let's get serious about this trip. Where are we going?

Ahaan glanced over his phone, rolling his eyes at her enthusiasm but unable to suppress a smile. "Already planning the next adventure, huh?"

"Of course," Aadhya replied, her fingers flying over the screen. "I'm not letting this trip slip away!"

Her phone buzzed again, this time with a reply from Samaira.

Sammy: I'm thinking Goa, guys. Beaches, sun, relaxation—perfect for all of us and the parents!

Akaay: Goa sounds awesome! I'm in.

Vamu: Me too! My parents will love it.

Aadhya's phone kept lighting up with responses, and she felt a growing excitement. She quickly typed out another message.

Aadhya: Goa it is! But we need to plan the dates. When are we all free?

Ahaan, reading over his phone, chimed in. "Make sure you mention that Dad will need some time to recover. He's not going to be happy if we plan this trip right after his discharge."

Aadhya smirked and added a note in the chat.

Aadhya: We'll have to plan it for a couple of weeks from now so papa can rest. No way he's letting us leave without him if we go too soon.

Ahaan grinned. "Good thinking. No one messes with Dad's vacation plans."

Just as Aadhya hit send, a message popped up from Agastya.

Agastya: I can't wait to see you guys! And I'm sure papa will be thrilled about the trip too.

There was a pause in the chat as everyone seemed to be waiting for a response, and then Aadhya saw another message pop up.

Vamu: So, should we invite the parents for the whole trip or let them join us for just a few days and then we can have some alone time?

Aadhya chuckled at the suggestion. Vamika always knew how to find a balance between family time and fun.

Aadhya: Good idea. Let's do half the trip with parents, and then just us six for the last few days!

Ahaan: That works. As long as no one leaves me to babysit Papa.

Sammy: Don't worry, Ahaan, you'll survive! Besides, Shub Chachu will probably be the most fun of all the parents.

Aadhya grinned, knowing her father's playful nature always made him the life of the party, even when he was supposed to be recovering.

The conversation continued back and forth, with the group buzzing with excitement as they finalized more details.

Akaay: I'm in charge of finding us the best beach house. Leave that to me.

Vamu: Great! And I'll make sure we have the best spots for food and sightseeing.

Sammy: I can help with activities!

Aadhya was about to add something when Shubman suddenly turned around from the front seat. "You're all smiling and texting back there. Should I be concerned?"

Aadhya quickly locked her phone screen and smiled innocently. "Nothing to worry about, Dad. Just planning a... little something."

Shubman raised an eyebrow, sensing mischief. "If this little something is a trip, I hope you're planning to bring me along."

Ahaan chuckled. "You'll need to recover first, Dad. We can't have you chasing waves with a broken arm."

"Ha! You underestimate me," Shubman said with a wink, clearly loving the banter.

Aadhya grinned as she continued texting her friends, the excitement for the trip bubbling inside her. This was going to be a much-needed break, not just for her and her friends, but for all their parents too.

As the car sped down the road, Aadhya's group chat continued to light up with messages, now taking a new direction. Samaira, always the fashionista, had started talking about outfits for the trip, and soon enough, the entire conversation was focused on shopping and planning for the perfect looks.

Sammy: Okay, we NEED to plan our outfits. Goa isn't just about relaxing; it's about looking good while doing it!

Vamu: Yesss, I'm thinking sundresses, flowy skirts, and beach hats! We should definitely go shopping before we leave.

Aadhya smirked at the idea. She could already picture the excitement in their voices when they'd hit the stores.

Aadhya: Totally! I've been eyeing this cute boho dress. And don't even get me started on the accessories.

Vamu: Accessories are everything! I'm going all out with jewelry and those cute anklets we saw last time.

The girls' conversation continued, building up the excitement, when suddenly Ahaan, who had been silently watching Aadhya type away, leaned over with a smirk.

"Shopping already, huh? You haven't even packed yet and you're already talking about what to wear?"

Aadhya shot him a playful glare. "Oh, please. You boys have no idea what it takes to plan a good trip. Looking good is part of the fun!"

Ahaan chuckled, glancing at his phone and typing in the group chat.

Ahaan: Can't wait to see how many hours you girls spend trying to figure out what to wear every day.

It wasn't long before Agastya chimed in, clearly ready to tease as well.

Agastya: And I'm guessing a whole day of shopping is in your future too, right?

Aadhya rolled her eyes and quickly replied.

Aadhya: Don't worry, boys. We'll still look good while you guys are stuck in boring board shorts and t-shirts.

Akaay added fuel to the fire, laughing at the expense of the girls.

Akaay: And don't forget about the time you'll waste picking out which accessories match which outfit. You girls make things so complicated!

Samaira, never one to back down from a challenge, quickly responded with a sassy retort.

Sammy: Oh please, you guys wouldn't last a minute in our world. Try keeping up with the trends for once, and then talk.

Vamu: Exactly! Besides, when we look amazing in our outfits, you'll be the ones bragging to everyone about how good your group looks. You're welcome.

The playful back-and-forth continued as the girls started listing out their must-have shopping destinations.

Aadhya: Okay, Sammy, where are we going first? I need to update my beach wardrobe ASAP.

Sammy: There's this amazing boutique in Bandra that just got some new summer collections. We're going there first!

Vamu: I'm in! Let's make a full day of it. Lunch and shopping.

Ahaan glanced over at Aadhya and laughed. "You're really going to drag us to some boutique, aren't you?"

"Only if you want to carry our bags," Aadhya shot back with a wink.

Agastya sent a message at that moment, clearly enjoying the teasing.

Agastya: Don't worry, Ahaan. If we have to suffer through shopping, we'll make sure to remind them how ridiculous it all is every chance we get.

Ahaan: Deal! And we'll time how long each of them takes to pick out an outfit.

The girls, however, weren't having it.

Aadhya: You're just jealous because we actually put effort into how we look.

Sammy: Right? Boys never understand how fun this is.

Vamu: Let them joke. We'll look fabulous, and they'll be the ones waiting around for us to finish looking perfect.

The banter between the boys and girls went on, each side trying to get the upper hand. But Aadhya knew that despite all the teasing, everyone was equally excited about the trip. The boys might roll their eyes now, but when they saw how amazing the girls looked on the beaches of Goa, they'd be the first to take credit for being part of the group.

As the conversation fizzled down, Aadhya leaned back in her seat, already imagining the shopping spree ahead and the fun moments they'd all share on this much-needed getaway. It was going to be a trip to remember, and she couldn't wait to start making memories.
