Two
I blinked at the boy in front, who cautiously looked for my reaction with his hooded stormy blue eyes, thick brows raised, prominent forehead creased and perfectly sculptured jaw closed.
"What?" I whispered in disbelief, keeping my voice from cracking.
I knew it had been years, but I was still not over my crush on him. I always dreamed that he would come to his senses and ask me out, but never imagined it to be fake.
"Look, it's going to sound crazy, I know." He drawled. "But hear me out."
I took a sharp inhale and gestured for him to continue. "Speak."
"I like Ivy and you already know that-" My jaw clenched at the name of that bit*h. "- I have been trying to ask her out all this time, and she keeps on dodging it. I don't get her problem, but we only have one more year, I want to date her before I lose my chance." He finished.
WTF.
"You want to date Ivy, and for that, you're asking me to fake date," I repeated what I got from him. "Why exactly?"
"Because I know she likes me-" No she doesn't. "-and I think something is stopping her from saying yes-" Oh! Really? "-so I want to make her jealous by dating you."
"That's your plan?" I raised my brow, keeping my face expressionless.
"Yes." He grinned. "Once she'll see me with someone, it'll work. I have planned it carefully."
"Why me? You can get any girl to fake date you." I felt my blood boiling, but I tried to keep calm.
"Because believe it or not, she's already jealous of you." He smirked. "And I know when she'll see me with you, it will break."
She's jealous of me? I'm already aware of that.
"And what made you think that I'll say yes?" I asked deadpan.
"It's obvious that you don't like her, Lexi. I thought that maybe you'll help me get on her nerves." He mischievously smiled.
"As you said, Jax, she's already jealous of me. I don't need to do anything else." I plastered a fake smile on my face and walked towards the door, but he grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
"Please, Lexi, I'm desperate." I turned my head, looking into his deep eyes. "I don't want to leave for college without dating the girl I like, it's pathetic. Please help me out." He begged.
"There's nothing in it for me, Jax." I pulled my hand out of his grip. "You should have come with better terms." With that, I left him standing there.
I blinked rapidly to get rid of the tears and kept my face poker so that my emotions wouldn't get me, but it hurt.
He wanted to date me to get that bit*h and he thought I was going to help him?
As if!

Days went by like that. Jax tried to convince me every chance he got and I would ignore him. Emily and I were in the bathroom during lunch when I told her about his deal.
"He-He is such a... douchebag!" She screamed, looking annoyed. "I can't believe he would offer something like that!"
"I don't get it either." I scoffed, putting on my lipstick.
The door of the bathroom opened, and the bit*h entered.
"Well, well, well." She smirked, coming in with her viper. "Look who we found Vanessa... Miss plastic doll." She stood behind me.
"What do you want bit*h?" I muttered without looking at her. I rubbed my lips together and smack them.
"Just wanted to say that stay away from Jax." I halted and looked at her through the mirror. "You don't look good with him. It's better to stay away." She snarled.
I scoffed, turning around. "FYI." I placed the cap on my lipstick and put it aside. "He came to me." I batted my eyelashes sweetly at her.
"I know what kind of slut you are-" I raised my brows at her. "-so keep your claws off him." She fumed.
"Hey, Em." I waved my hand in front of my nose, looking at her. "Do you smell something burning?" I made a disgusted face.
"Yeah. It's horrible." Emily fake gagged, glancing at Ivy.
"You stay out of it nerd." Vanessa walked towards her, but I stepped in between.
"Call her that again, and you'll see what I do to you." I hissed.
She backed away and huffed. "Whatever."
"I don't care what you do with guys on your bed..." Ivy stepped towards me. "Since your Daddy is not even home and Mom-" I tensed at the mention of her and Ivy smirked at my reaction. "Your Mommy left you alone." She pouted at me with her ugly face.
"Don't utter a word about her." I stepped closer, and we stood face to face. "Or else you will face my wrath." I threatened through gritted teeth.
She smirked, leaning closer, and whispered. "You can't hide your true self forever, Doll." She gave me a once-over and left with her viper, laughing.
"You okay?" Emily put a hand on my shoulder.
"Call Jax." I creaked my neck left and right, looking at the closed door, and smirked. "And tell him I'll do it."
I'll teach this bit*h a lesson.

"What made you agree to this?" Jax asked happily, leaning back in his seat.
It was lunchtime, and I called him in the same classroom he took me last time.
"You're not the one who's going to question here," I said sternly, crossing my leg over another.
He held his hands in surrender. "Ok." He glanced at Emily, who kept shooting him dagger. "And what is she doing here?"
"She's going to be the witness of our agreement." Emily put the contract in front of him. "This will be our contract, so things won't get out of hand."
"You're really a daughter of a lawyer." He chuckled.
"Eh- Ehem." I raised my brows at his comment.
He cleared his throat, sitting straight, and skimmed the contract. "No one else will know about this..." He glanced at Emily but quietly continued. "We will do it according to Lexi's plans." He raised his brows at me.
"I'm good at planning." I shrugged.
"No physical contact-" He paused reading it. "Just to be clear, I'm asking you to fake date, nothing else." He squinted his eyes at me.
"Precautions," I stated and let him read the remaining contract.
Last night Emily and I formed this so it'll feel more professional.
"I don't mind this, but I have some conditions too." I gestured for him to continue. "You won't date other guys."
"Excuse me?" Emily growled from my side.
"Everyone's aware of my much you date, Lexi. You change boys like tissues." He smirked.
"Are you implying that I'm a slut?" I narrowed my eyes.
"No. Never." He shook his head. "But I want everyone to feel like this..." He gestured between us. "Is real. So you won't date other guys."
"Fine." I scoffed, leaning back. "It's not like I'm dying to date them."
"Good." He signed the contract and passed it to me. "What's the plan?" He rubbed his hands in anticipation.
"The plan is simple," I smirked and told him my plan. "First, we are going to flirt with each other in front of everyone. I don't want them to think that out of the blue, we started dating."
"Yeah, everyone will suspicious if you guys suddenly started talking after years," Emily added.
"I have an idea for that." He leaned in. "I went to Hawaii this vacation. We can say that we met there and became friends again." He suggested.
"Hm... That's not a bad idea." I agreed.
"So we met this summer vacation in Hawaii, which was a coincidence, and we talked-" Jax started.
"We fooled around then stopped when the vacations were over, but you couldn't stop thinking about me and wants to date me now." I finished.
"Why do I want to date you?" He inquired.
"Because you are the desperate one here and remember Jax..." I leaned in, narrowing my eyes. "You are the one who made this deal." I reminded, boring my eyes in his.
"Fine." He huffed. "I was desperate to date you and now I want to ask you out and-"
"And I keep refusing. So you'll run after me like a puppy until I give in." I sweetly smiled, finishing. He squinted his eyes at me but agreed to it, anyway.
He wants this, not me. I won't jeopardize my reputation for Ivy.
