"Kevin," I whispered in disbelief as he stood in front of me grinning. "What are you doing-" He didn't even let me finish the sentence and pushed past me to get in.

"Do you really think I'd let you guys party without me?" He gave me a mischievous look.

I groaned and slammed the door closed. "We are not here for a party! We have work-"

"Yeah, yeah." He waved his hands, striding towards the kitchen. "You are here to study." He turned his head slightly and gave me a sly grin. "I'll help you guys." I followed him to the kitchen.

I knew he was up to something!

"Hola Amigos!" He greeted, putting his hands on his hips as he observed everyone. "You don't start a party without Kevin Eleven."

I scoffed at him, getting in my seat. Darren and Noah greeted him as he sat on the stool in the middle. Emily gave me a questioning look, and I shrugged.

"What do we have here?" Kevin grinned, rubbing his hands together.

"As I said." I gestured towards the books. "We are here to find a recipe."

"I can help you guys." He grinned and took a book, flipping through its pages. "Hmm..." He inspected a page, then turned it towards us. "You can make this, easy-peasy."

I arched my brow at the full-baked pork. "Why don't you try it?" I growled at him.

"Why? It looks easy." He turned the book towards himself again and turned the pages. I rolled my eyes and got back to my book.

Every once in a while Kevin would show us a weird recipe saying that we can make it. I muted him out and concentrated on my book. I had to search for something that Noah and I can make together easily and without ruining or breaking anything.

Kevin continued with his stupidity, making me lose my patience, and I finally snapped. "Why the hell are you even here Kevin?!"

"What?" He pouted, giving me a sad look. "Can't I be here with my friends?"

"Shouldn't you be bowling with your other friends?" I retorted.

"They canceled the plan." He smirked. I clenched my jaw.

Of course, they did, that's why he is even here!

I gritted my teeth. "Why don't you-"

"Ah-ha!" Darren out of the blue exclaimed. We all looked at him in confusion and he gave a sheepish smile. "I think I found our recipe." He darted his eyes towards Emily.

"You did?" Emily and I asked simultaneously. He grinned, bobbing his head, and showed us.

"De-Lightful Tuna Casserole." I read the recipe name and looked at the instructions.

"Are you sure we can make it?" Emily asked, reading the instructions.

"It seems easy." Darren shrugged. "And it's creative and old, I don't think I have seen or eaten anything like this."

Emily nodded. "Guess we found our recipe."

I plopped back on my seat and closed the book I was reading, taking a new one. Darren, the oblivious guy who doesn't know a thing about cooking, found his recipe, and me?

I growled and flipped the pages furiously. I felt everyone's gaze at me but I ignored them and after a second or two, the bell rang.

I closed the book loudly and took a deep breath. "I wonder who could that be!" Kevin said in a high-pitched tone.

I glared at him and gestured towards the door. "Why don't you get it." I sneered.

He grinned ear to ear. "Oh, I'll get it." Kevin was acting weird, not that it was a new thing, but today he was a hundred times more annoying.

He got up, and I watched him as he left the kitchen. "Is he always like that?" Darren asked, still looking at the kitchen door.

"He's Kevin." Emily shrugged.

I sighed and got back to my book when Noah slid his book towards me. I glimpsed at him, he smiled and gestured towards the book.

I darted my eyes to the page and read the recipe 'Classic Beef Wellingtons'. I read the instructions and ingredients, it looked easy for us to make. A wide smile took over my face, and I looked at Noah.

"Looks like we found our recipe too!" I squealed. He chuckled and leaned forward, placing his arms on the counter and propped his chin on them.

I copied his movement, and we stared at each other, grinning like idiots when I heard Kevin's shrilling voice.

"I got the food and don't worry, it's on me." I ignored him and continued looking at Noah when his eyes darted behind me and his smile died as Kevin continued. "And there's also a surprise!" He sang.

Frowning at Noah's reaction, I turned my head towards Kevin. My heart fell when I saw Jax with him.

WTF!

"Hi." Jax waved his hand in greeting us and got the seat beside me. Confusion must be written on my face as I stared at him. "Kevin invited me. He said you guys were having some party." I squeezed my eyes shut and took deep breaths.

In the background, I heard Kevin's enthusiastic voice. "We should start eating or else the food will get cold!"

I jolted up from my seat so fast that the stool I was sitting on fell loudly. Everyone looked at me in confusion. I plastered a smile on my face.

"Excuse me. I need to use the bathroom." I gritted through my teeth and left the kitchen. I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door shut.

Jumping on my bed, I buried my face in my pillow and screamed. "AAAAAAA!!!!!" I furiously punched my pillow and kicked my legs in the air.

At first, I wanted to be alone with Noah but after embarrassing myself I asked Emily and Darren to accompany me, then Kevin came uninvited, and now Jax.

Why me?!

After a few minutes, I finally calmed down and got up, hugging my pillow tightly. I glanced in the mirror and groaned at my messed-up appearance.

I'm such a mess!

I went towards the mirror, smoothing my wavy brown hair which looked like something explode in them.

Finally satisfied with my look, I went downstairs again and heard voices coming. As soon as I entered, there was pin-drop silence as everyone observed me with slices of pizza in their hands.

They started without me. Great!

I pulled my lips into a tight smile and padded towards my seat between Emily and Jax. "You okay?" Emily asked in a hushed tone.

I bobbed my head and took a slice of pizza. "Never better," I mumbled with my mouth full and glared at Kevin, who sat there smirking at me.

"I invited Noah and Darren with us tomorrow to bowling." I choked on my slice. Emily passed me a glass of water and rubbed my back, I gulped the water down trying to swallow the pizza down.

"W-hat?!" I finally stuttered.

"Yeah, it's been a long time since we all hang out." Kevin gestured towards Noah and Jax. "And it seems like we are all friends again, I thought I'd invite them with us." I looked at Kevin in disbelief.

"B-but..."

"What?" He blinked at me, playing innocent. "Don't you want Noah and Darren with us?"

My eyes grew big as I looked at Noah, his eyes were on his pizza and I couldn't read his expressions. "Of course, I have no problem!" I rushed. Noah finally glanced at me and I smiled nervously. "The more the merrier."

"We are going to have fun together!" Kevin said with a smug look.

"This is going to be amazing!" Darren exclaimed, looking excited already. "I have never been bowling before."

"Really?" Emily asked, and they started talking about his dream of bowling once before he dies. I zoned out thinking about Kevin.

What is going on with him?!

He was up to something, I could feel it in my guts, otherwise, he would have never invited Noah and Darren.

I turned my head towards Jax as he leaned in and whispered. "Is something bothering you, Lexi?" I glanced at him as he watched me with his concerned blue eyes. "You can tell me whatever it is. I'm here."

Even though I didn't have feelings for Jax anymore, doesn't mean that I don't like him, he was still my friend and I know he was a good guy. He was just stuck and is in love, not knowing what to do with his heart, just like me.

I shouldn't get irritated by him when I was the one who agreed to it.

I forced a smile and replied. "I'm fine." His eyes roamed over my face then he nodded his head, smiling at me and back up.

I cast a glance at Noah, who was watching me and Jax, as our eyes met he darted his gaze down.
