Thirty-six

Noah spun me on my heels and pulled me towards him. Our chest collided, making my breath hitch. He grabbed my right hand and interlaced our fingers, putting his left on my waist, and moved our body randomly.

I'm sure people don't do a couple dance on beat songs, even though it felt so good to stay in his arms. But the time wasn't right.

"Okay!" I exclaimed, pulling away from him a little. "It's time to go."

"What?" He furrowed his brows. "But the party just got started!" He whined.

"It's getting late, so we should leave Noah."

"No." He huffed, folding his arms around his chest, and pouted.

OMG! He's so cute!

"Come on Noah, don't be stubborn." I grabbed his arm and tried to move him, but he didn't budge.

"I'm don't want to go with Jax." He mumbled, turning his head towards the other side.

I bit my lip, trying to control my giggle at his cuteness. "He won't be with us."

Noah slowly turned his head towards me and questioned. "Just you and me?"

"Just you and me." I beamed.

He gave me a toothy grin and bobbed his head. I giggled and linked our arms as we walked by everyone dancing furiously.

We exit Kevin's house and descend the stairs when Noah stumbled, I quickly grabbed him. "Careful, we don't want to ruin that handsome face," I said, helping him regain his balance.

Noah laughed at my comment, and we went towards my car. I opened the passenger door and helped him settle on it. I cautiously close the door and went towards the driver's side.

Turned on the ignition, I watched Noah as he struggled with the seat belt. "Why won't it fit?!" He screamed in frustration.

"Let me do it." I put the seat belt in the lock. "Okay?" He bobbed his head, grinning at me.

"You're amazing." He looked at me intensely with his green eyes.

"You're exaggerating," I murmured, starting the car and got out of the driveway. "Are your parents home?"

"Of course." He chuckled, looking at me lazily. "Where else would they be?"

"Just asking..." My hands around the steering wheel tightened.

Of course, his parents were home. He doesn't live alone like me, well not anymore. I would have taken him to my house, but since dad's there I couldn't. I didn't want him to meet Noah first time after years drunk.

I cut my thoughts off when I saw Noah moving his hand towards me. I stiffened but kept my head straight. From the corner of my vision, I saw him twirling my hair lock around his fingers.

"You got really beautiful hair." He slurred, playing with my hair. I felt my face heating.

"T-thanks." He tucked a lock behind my ear. His finger lightly creasing from my ear to the side of my neck, making me swallow hard.

He chuckled. "Now you are getting nervous."

"No, I'm not." I denied.

"You're cute." He mumbled, letting go of my hair.

"And you are drunk."

"No, I'm not." I squinted my eyes at him. "Maybe tipsy but not drunk." He huffed, shifting in his seat, and leaned his head on the window, looking outside.

My eyes roamed over his features. His long lashes touched his cheeks every time he blinked. His cheeks were rosy because of the access drinking, I think. My eyes went to his lips, and I gulped.

"You are staring again, Lexi." Noah's amused voice brought me back from my thoughts.

"I-I am not." I ducked my head, shielding my flushed face with my hair.

Why do I always get caught?!

After that, I kept my head straight, and we drove in silence. I finally calmed my heart after taking deep breaths. I parked my car outside his house and sighed in relief when I saw the lights off.

His parents must be sleeping.

"We are here," I announced, finally turning towards Noah and saw him sleeping. "Noah!" I shook him up, and he mumbled something. "Come on, Noah, wake up. You can't sleep now. How am I supposed to get you to your room?"

If the roles were reversed, it would have been easy for Noah to carry my sleeping form in his arms and take me to my room. But I couldn't do that.

I took my seat belt off and ran towards his side. I opened the passenger door and lightly patted his face. "Come on, Noah. Wake up!"

He lazily opened his eyes. "Let me sleep, mom." He mumbled, turning his head towards the other side.

"Please, Noah. You can sleep all you want in your bed, but please wake up now!" I shook his shoulders.

He finally came to some senses, and I help him out of the car. Putting his arm over my shoulder, I wrapped my arm around his torso and took him towards the front door. "Where are the keys?" I groaned in a low voice.

Why are boys so heavy?!

"In my pocket." He mumbled drifting.

I patted his front pockets of pants and found the keys. "Don't make noise okay," I whispered, opening his door, slowly.

He nodded slowly, putting his weight over me. I held him with all my strength and took him inside.

The door creaked, making me tensed. His parents' room was on the ground floor, I hoped they are deep in sleep so they wouldn't notice it.

I thanked God that the stairs were in front and his house wasn't big, or else it would have been more difficult for me.

"We will climb the stairs step-by-step okay?" He nodded, his eyes half opened as we step the stairs.

I cautiously helped him take his steps. The darkness wasn't helping it either. We were halfway through when Noah missed a step and fell on the stairs along with me.

"Oph!" He groaned, and it echoed through the house.

I heard some movement from the room and cursed under my breath. "Noah, is that you?" His mom asked.

I looked at Noah and then at his parents' room door opening. "Don't tell your mom I'm here," I whispered to Noah, and before he could say something, I ran up the stairs, leaving him and hide behind the wall.

F**k!

I couldn't let Mrs. Stone see me like this. We haven't met in years and now she meets me as I bring her drunk son home. That doesn't sound appealing at all. I didn't want to give a terrible impression.

I heard her gasped and peeked through the wall; she helped Noah sat straight; he leaned on the wall, groaning.

"Noah! Why are you drunk?" She scolded him.

"I-I was playing a game...?" He replied.

"How did you even get home in this condition?"

"Angel brought me home." He grinned. I slapped my forehead.

"You brought a girl here?!" His mom squealed in surprise.

"No... She brought me here." He chuckled and whispered, which was loud enough for me to hear. "She's upstairs in my room." His mom looked up, I turned to hide again.

"Noah..." I heard his mom says sighed. "You have to ask her to go."

"But why?"

"Are you serious?" She snapped. "You can't bring a girl home like that-"

"But she's an angel and rescued me like a fairy godmother!" He whined like a baby.

I heard Mrs. Stone mumbled but couldn't exactly get what she was saying. "Come on, get up." I saw her helping Noah getting up and tensed.

What am I going to do now?!

The only room on this floor was Noah's. I looked around his room and my eyes landed on his bed.

I groaned in frustration and went under his bed. I settled myself and stiffened when I left something touch my arm. Slowly turning my head, I saw a black case. I studied it; it was a guitar case.

Wait... Noah plays guitar?!

"Careful." I heard Mrs. Stone and watched their feet as she got Noah on his bed.

I remained still as she helped him take his shoes off and changed his clothes. Mothers are always like this even though you grow up, you're still kids to them and they'll help you whenever you're in trouble.

Memories of my mommy came, but I shook my head, trying to get rid of the sad feelings.

"Go to sleep." She kissed him. "We'll talk about this in the morning." I waited till she left the room as soon as I heard the door closed, I sighed in relief.

That was close.

"Angel, where are you?" I heard Noah whispering. I scoffed and got out of the bed, then glared at Noah, who was lying peacefully on his bed. "That was a good hiding spot." He beamed.

"I told you not to tell her I'm here." I narrowed my eyes, crossing my arms.

"And I didn't." He beamed.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm going home." I turned around to leave but was stopped by Noah's grip on my wrist. "Noa-"

He jerked me towards him, making me fall on him. My eyes grew enormous as I stared into his alluring green eyes.

"Stay with me tonight." He whispered, boring his eyes in mine.
