"Stop touching it. It hurts." I swat his hand when he kept checking my ankle.

"Can you get up?" He asked again and I shook my head.

"No."

"Fine." He sighed.

I watched him as he clasped my hands and wrapped them around his neck. I willingly followed, curious to see what he was doing. He put one arm on my back and the other under my knees. The next I know, he stood up with me in his arms.

"Eeek!" I shrieked in surprise and tightened my grip on his neck. My eyes automatically widened and heat crawled up my neck because of the proximity.

Since when did he become so strong?!

I kept my gaze down and didn't dare to look up. His face was so close that if I moved mine even a little, I could kiss his jaw. His hands under my bare knees tingled and suddenly my body began to warm up.

It was a bad idea to wear a skirt today...

Or it wasn't?

I was deep in thought when he took me to the counter and sat me on the top. I unwrapped my arms from his neck and ducked my head so he won't see me blushing. My heart throbbed so loud I was afraid he might hear it.

WTF.

Why am I blushing so much?!

He went to the refrigerator at the corner of our class and got an ice pack for me. I winced when he put it on my ankle, not because of the pain, but because it was too cold.

"Sorry." He muttered, moving the ice pack.

"It's alright. I'll do it." I mumbled and took it from him.

He watched me for a while, then went back to cleaning. I observed him while keeping the pack on my ankle.

Why do I feel bad now when I planned to act wounded and make him do all the work?

After mopping the floor, he went to the sink to wash the dishes with his back facing me. I took my phone out and scrolled through my social media to divert my attention from feeling guilty.

"I am sorry." I blinked at my phone and then glanced at Noah who was still washing the dishes. I looked around to see if there was someone else but the entire class was empty except for the two of us.

"Did you say something?" I asked to make sure my ears weren't ringing.

"I said I'm sorry," Noah repeated. "F-for last week. I-it was m-my fault that we got i-in this trouble." He stuttered.

Shit! Now I seriously feel bad.

"It's alright, Noah. It wasn't only your fault, takes two to tango." I murmured.

"I'm a-also sorry f-for not helping you. I just didn't k-knew what to do a-and you looked expert d-doing it."

"Why did you even take this class?" I tilted my head.

"It's an easy A." He shrugged and my brows shot up in surprise.

"Seriously?"

"Well, that and my mom wanted me to take it so that if I had to live alone someday. I'll know how to cook and do stuff." He explained.

"You're not doing a good job with it." I pointed out.

"I know." He mumbled.

The silence after that began to bother me so I started small talks. "How are your parents?"

His parents are the most sweetest person in this world. His mother's a housewife and his father works in some company. They were always nice to us and were fun to be with. They treated me like their own daughter and spoiled me a lot. Noah was the only kid, and so was I. Jax only had a sibling, an older brother.

"They are good." He replied. "How are yours?" I tensed when he asked me.

I opened and closed my mouth, not knowing what to say, and internally kicked myself for choosing this conversation. When I didn't answer for a while Noah turned his head towards me. He opened his mouth to say something but I was saved by another familiar voice.

"You guys done?" I whirled my head and saw Jax entering our class.

"Not yet." Sighing in relief, I smiled at him and then frowned at his sudden appearance. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought I might check up on you." He beamed and walked towards me. His eyes went to the ice pack I still had on my ankle and frowned. "What happened?"

"I fell on the floor and hurt my ankle." I pouted.

"Does it hurt?" He asked, slightly touching my ankle.

"It's better now." I beamed at him and put my arms on his shoulders.

I can't believe he came here to see me!

Noah turned off the sink and dried his hands. "Everything is done."

"Where are you going? Miss Maddox is going to come." I said, watching him gather his things.

"She won't." He halted in his steps and angled his head towards me. "Oh, and Lexi." I blinked at him when his lips curled into a smirk. "You're a talented actress."

My eyes bugged out as I watched him exit the classroom.

"What was he talking about?" Jax asked in confusion.

"Nothing," I mumbled, and Noah's words repeated in my head.

He knew I was acting!

The next day I sat in the Cafeteria thinking about Noah and how he always gets the last words leaving me tongue-tied. I groaned loudly and put my head on the table. I feel so bad that he apologized to me and also did all the work alone.

Why didn't he apologize first?! I wouldn't have done all that drama and we could have worked together.

"Is it that time of the month?" Kevin teased taking a seat next to me.

"I have warned you, Kevin." I gave him a side glare. "Don't mess with a girl about her periods."

"My bad." He put his hands in surrender but after a second he added. "But seriously are you?"

"Em." She glanced up from her phone as she sat across me. "Tell him to shut up or else I'll kick him somewhere and his sun will never shine."

Swallowing hard, Kevin jolted from his seat and rushed to sit next to Emily. "What's got her panties in a twist?"

"She's feeling guilty," Emily sighed.

"Why? Don't tell me she killed Jax!" He gasped dramatically. "That's why I warned her. I knew something like this would happen."

"She stabbed him last night. There was blood everywhere." Emily played along with him.

"Shit! Now we have to hide the body. Where is it now?"

"It's in her fridge. Cut into tiny pieces." Emily replied with a straight face and I rolled my eyes at my friends.

"Oooo..." Kevin visibly shivered. "Where did she put his junior-"

"I can hear you both!" I grunted and narrowed my eyes at them. "And if you won't stop talking. I'll do the same with you two."

They both sheepishly smiled at me and changed the topic while I grabbed my stomach and groaned in pain.

Why do only girls have to deal with this?!

"Zombie!" Kevin yelled, pointing behind me. I turned my head and saw Jax coming towards us.

"What?" Jax questioned, looking behind him in confusion.

"Nothing. He forgot to eat his medicine today." I looked at Kevin deadpan.

"Don't blame me. You ate every one of them." He retorted.

"You little piece of shi-"

"I have a great idea," Jax exclaimed taking a seat beside me.

"What?" I arched my brow at him.

"This Friday, Darren suggested going on a movie night." Jax beamed. "I want you to come with us."

"Why?" I looked skeptically at him.

"You know why." He darted his eyes to Kevin, who was shooting daggers at him, and whispered. "Ivy and everyone will be there."

"Kevin and Emily will come too," I announced.

"Why?" They all asked me simultaneously.

"Because I'm not going on a movie night with your friends alone," I said in a monotone.

"No, thanks," Kevin shook his head. "I have to prepare for my party and I'm busy- Ouch!" I kicked his leg under the table and glared at him.

"Kevin."

He squinted his eyes at me then huffed giving up. "Fine. I'll come."

I smiled and turned toward Jax. "We'll be there."

Movie night? I think I can work with it.
