Sixteen
Kevin and Emily kept glancing at me from the rare view mirror, but I ignored them and babbled about different things. We had been driving for about fifteen to twenty minutes now and I was the only one talking.
What can I say, I'm the talkative one.
"... After the kissing booth scene, Viola dressed as her brother and tries to convince Duke to ask her on a date instead of Olivia. But then Olivia tries to make Sebastian-who is actually Viola- jealous by showing fake interest in Duke..." I ranted about the scene Noah missed because of our walk.
Noah listened to me, occasionally nodding his head. "That's a twisted story."
"It's called a love triangle." I beamed and made a triangle with my fingers.
"We are here," Kevin announced when we reached Noah's house and I looked through the window.
His house looked the same as it was three years ago. A small two-story house with few rooms and the lights of the living room were on. His parents must be home.
Noah got out of the car, thanking Kevin for the ride. Before closing the door, he looked back at us and asked. "Um... Do you guys want to come in?"
"Maybe some other time." I beamed. "Bye, Noah."
"Bye Lexi." He smiled and closed the door. Kevin and Emily bid their farewells and we drove towards the road again.
"Oh, and thanks for the smoothie!" I yelled and waved my hand frantically.
He chuckled, shaking his head, and waved back. We continued to do it until he disappeared out of sight.
Happiness bloomed in my chest and I plopped back on my seat. "Tonight was fun."
"Watching a chick movie, sitting in the corner, and driving Noah all the way around... Fun." Kevin snorted.
"Don't be mean, Kevin. Noah is our friend." I scolded him.
"Is he?" He growled at me.
"You were sleeping the whole time, Kevin." Emily giggled. "It shouldn't affect you."
"Yeah." I scoffed, backing up Emily. "And you got to see Ivy divvy drenched in mango."
"I will remember that for the rest of my life!" Kevin cracked up.
"I'm curious how you got Darren to buy those tickets?" I asked, leaning in front.
"He was easy." Kevin chuckled. "I started the topic of football and he kept ranting about it while I bought the tickets. He didn't even notice and when I told him that the other was sold out. He just shrugged and continued babbling." We all laughed at how oblivious he was.
"He seems like a nice guy. I still don't get why he is dating that Viper." I scowled at the thought of her.
"He is nice." Emily agreed and I raised my eyebrows at her. "When he saw I wasn't eating the Marmite popcorn, I told him I wasn't feeling well. He ate them saying that he was starving and could literally eat anything."
"It's a good thing those didn't get wasted." We giggled and after a while, we reached Emily's house. Both of us got out and gave each other a tight hug.
"Bye. I had so much fun!" Emily squealed, going towards her house.
"Bye and tell your parents I said hi!" I yelled as I got in the passenger seat.
Kevin drove the car towards my house and that's when he began his investigation.
"Okay, Lexi. I'm going to get serious here-" I gasped loudly cutting him off.
"You and serious? That's something new." I teased.
"What is going on?" He ignored my joke.
"What do you mean?" I acted oblivious.
"You know what I'm talking about." He gave me a side glare. "First, out of the blue, you started dating Jax saying that you guys coincidentally met in Hawaii- which I don't believe a bit because if you guys did. You would have bombarded me with messages and now you want to drive Noah back to his house?"
"He's our friend." I shrugged.
"Was." He squinted his eyes at me. "Was our friend Lexi. How the hell after years we are mingling with them again?"
"You're stressing too much. You already know how much I like Jax..." Now that I said it out loud after years, it doesn't sound right. "And they are his friends. We have to call it a truce."
"Truce?" He scoffed. "After what we did to Ivy tonight. I know for a fact that you didn't call it a truce."
"I never said that I'm calling a truce with her," I smirked.
"Seriously, what is going on in that thick evil head?" Kevin frowned.
"Honestly... IDK. But I'm having fun doing it," I giggled.
"Are you hiding something from me?" Kevin looked at me concerned and I twisted my head towards the window, not meeting his gaze.
"No," I mumbled.
"You can tell me anything, Lexi. I won't judge you or any-"
"IK Kevin." I faced him with a smile. "If I ever get into trouble. You'll be the first one I'll call."
He chuckled and shook his head. "I won't save you all the time."
"I know you will because you love me." I smiled, and he returned it.
Kevin's been with me all this time. When I moved away with my parents we lost contact and didn't talk for two years. But when I came back, it was like there wasn't a gap between me and Kevin. We instantly got back to the way we were before and even got closer.
I lost Noah and Jax that day and I didn't want to lose him too.

On the weekend, Emily and I did shopping for our homecoming week. Our student body decided on different themes for the week, and we were shopping for costumes.
Everyone asks for their dates this week and I was thinking of going to homecoming with Noah. But didn't know how to approach him.
I mean, I can't just ask him to be my date, right?
On Monday, I sat in the Cafeteria observing everyone. It was Netflix day, and you had to dress up as any Netflix character.
I wore a black off-shoulder top with a red skirt. I was dressed as Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale because she's stunning and a Queen Bee like me.
"Why have I dressed as Keller again?" I grinned and glanced at Kevin. I also dressed him as a Riverdale character, Kevin Keller.
"Because you have a lot in common," I answered, licking my lollipop.
I forced Kevin to dress as him because their names were the same and I did the same with Emily. She was dressed as Emily Cooper from 'Emily in Paris'
"But he's gay and I'm not. Not that I have any problem with them."
"So what?" I shrugged. "Cheryl is a lesbo."
"But she's hot," Kevin said as a matter of fact.
"So is Kevin Keller," I smirked.
"Jax got the best character," Kevin huffed.
I chuckled, shaking my head at him, and looked to my left where Jax sat, talking to Jim. He was dressed as Joe Goldberg from 'You'. Jax has been sitting with us and I couldn't be happier than that.
Ivy must be burning in hell right now.
I glimpsed Ivy who was dressed as Katherine Hernandez, also known as Kat, from 'Euphoria'. She was sitting with Viper and Darren, Noah was nowhere to be found.
"Hey, Jax," I called him and he whirled towards me.
"Yeah?"
"Have you seen uh...?" I trailed off thinking if it was a good idea to ask him about Noah. "Nothing." I shook my head and looked at my phone.
"Everything alright?" He asked and I forced a smile, peeking at Noah's table.
"Yup." He nodded, turning towards Jim again and I studied him.
Jax has asked no one for homecoming. I didn't know if he was planning to ask me or not. A lot of guys have already tried their luck but I said no.
Noah and I had no class together today and I haven't seen him in the hallways either. It would be weird if I directly ask him to be my date. I'll ask him tomorrow in our Home Econs class with proper planning. The thought of that class brought a grin to my face.
Miss Mad is in for a surprise tomorrow and my costume will astonish her for sure.
