I plugged the earphones out of his ears and looked at him in disbelief. "You are listening to songs on your phone in a movie theater."

He rolled his eyes and sat straight. "I already told you, Lexi. I don't like this. I don't even know what's going on in it."

"As your neighbor, it is my duty to make you like it." I gestured toward the screen and explained the story. "Viola is Sebastian's twin sister. She goes to her brother's school, dressed as him to play soccer. She fell in love with her roommate, who is Duke. But he is in love with this other girl, Olivia, and Olivia likes Sebastian, who is actually Viola..." I kept ranting and Noah listened to me attentively.

"If you already know the story. Why are you watching it again?" He inquired.

"Because it's Amanda and Channing," I said in a duh tone and his brows knitted in confusion. "You'll understand when you'll see it."

"Fine." He sunk into his seat and watched the movie. I smiled at him and turned my head towards the screen, ignoring Jax and Ivy, who were still babbling.

"I wonder how she changes so fast," Noah mumbled, making me giggle. The carnival scene was going on.

"It's a girl thing you can say."

"But girls take so much time in getting ready."

"We do it according to our mood and need." I shrugged.

The kissing booth scene came in which Viola and Duke were making out. I side glanced at Noah to see him awkwardly shifting in his seat.

"Why are you so uncomfortable, Noah?" I batted my eyelashes innocently at him and teased. "Are you imagining yourself kissing hot Viola?"

"Pft No." He muttered and folded his arms.

"Are you sure? I mean look at her." I gestured towards the screen on which Justin and Duke were now fighting. "She's really hot..." I stretched the word 'hot' and smirked at him.

He kept his head straight, and I continued teasing him. "Look at that body, those eyes and nose and..." I leaned in towards him and whispered. "Those pink sweet lips. Who wouldn't want to kiss them-"

I was caught off guard when he twisted his head abruptly and his eyes flickered to my lips. "I'm imagining someone else lips right now."

My jaw literally dropped on the floor and I gawked at him tongue-tied. I averted my eyes from his suddenly dark gaze and spun my head towards the screen again.

Did he just-?

"What happened, Lexi?" He whispered, leaning in my ear. "Done teasing?"

His breath on my ear made my entire body tremble and I gripped the seat arms tightly like I might fall.

"I- I..." I trailed off and my heart bounced in my chest. My breaths came out shaky and I felt my cheeks burning.

"I can tell you were also thinking of someone." He added, making me sink in my seat. "Who were you imagining, Lexi?"

Shit! What am I supposed to do now?!

"What are you two talking about?" Jax asked, saving me from getting embarrassed.

"Nothing," Noah cleared his throat, leaning back in his seat and Jax raised his brows at me.

"I-I was explaining to him the plot," I stuttered and swallowed hard feeling my throat dry. "I need to use the restroom. Excuse me." I jolted up from my seat, avoiding eye contact with Noah, and ran outside.

I entered the restroom and thanked god that it was empty. My eyes widened when I looked at my flushed face in the mirror and clasped my hot cheeks with my palms.

Why the hell am I blushing?!

I took deep breaths, trying to calm my furiously beating heart, and turned the tap on. I splashed water on my burning face and thought back to what just happened. It was good that it was dark inside the theater or else Noah and Jax would've seen me blushing like an idiot.

I didn't get why I even got affected by Noah. I was the one teasing him then unexpectedly the tables turned. Taking some water in my palm, I drank it and sighed when the water went through my dry throat. I took some tissues and patted my face.

Okay... Now I look pretty much normal.

I cracked my neck and stretched my shoulders. "You can do this, Lexi." I encouraged myself, looking in the mirror, and nodded. "It's just Noah."

It's just Noah.

Chanting it like a mantra, I swing the door open and froze in my steps when I saw him standing outside.

It's just-

"Noah..." I cleared my throat when my voice came out a little crack. "What are you doing here?"

What's wrong with my throat today?!

"I-I wanted..." He jammed his hands in his front pockets and averted his eyes to the floor. "I-I wanted to a-apologize. I- uh... What I did was k-kind of in-inappropriate and I-I shouldn't have..."

My heart melted at his sight, and my body relaxed. He looked like the sweet and nervous Noah from when we were kids.

"Noah." I chuckled, getting my confidence back. "It wasn't inappropriate. Friends tease and joke all the time."

"Right." He blinked his eyes and muttered something like friends.

"What?" I asked, not understanding what he said.

"Nothing." He shook his head and began walking. "Let's go inside."

"Wait!" I yelled making him halt. "I- uh... Do you want to go outside and walk a bit...?"

I internally kicked myself at the stupid suggestion but I couldn't sit with Noah that close again. I need some time.

"Why?" His brows knitted in confusion.

"I mean, I have already seen the movie and you don't seem interested in it-" I paused and gave Noah a side glance. "Unless you want to go inside and see hot Viola a-"

"Let's go outside." He rushed outside making me laugh.

Act normal, Lexi!

We walked side by side on the pathway for a while then Noah asked. "Don't you think Jax would be wondering about you?"

"Jax is going to be ok." I rolled my eyes, still imagining him talking with that bit*h.

"How did it happen?" Noah questioned and my face scrunched in confusion.

"Huh?"

"You and Jax..." He trailed off not completing his sentence.

"Haven't you heard the rumors?" I asked, trying to close the topic.

"Yeah, but I want to hear from you." He said darting his eyes between mine. I averted my gaze, scared, that he might catch me lying.

"WemetduringvacationsinHawaii." I rushed.

"What?"

"Enough about me." I halted and turned towards him. "Tell me about you."

"About me?" He pointed at himself.

"Are you in love?"

"What?" He blinked.

My eyes widened when I realized what I asked him but quickly composed myself. It was a slip of the tongue. I mean I have been curious about it since yesterday but I didn't plan to ask him this soon.

"Oh, come on, Noah." I gave him a lopsided grin. "Every song on your phone was about love."

"I-I uh t-that was..." He shuddered, looking everywhere but at me.

"Don't be shy Noah. You can tell me-" I groaned when my phone cut me off. I took it out of my pocket and rolled my eyes when I saw who it was.

Calling: Jax.

What does he want now?!

"Maybe we should go back," Noah murmured and turned towards the theater. My shoulders slumped in disappointment and I shot daggers at my poor phone.

Way to ruin it, Jax!

When we reached inside, I dropped on my seat and let out a loud groan.

"Where were you?" Jax asked curiously.

"Why do you care?" I snapped.

"What does that supposed to mean?" He squinted his eyes at me.

"Weren't you already busy with your dear Ivy?" I matched his glare.

"Everything Ok?" Noah asked when he saw us arguing.

"Everything's perfectly fine," I said in a honeyed voice and looked back at the movie.

Arg! Jax had to ruin the moment! I was almost there to find out about Noah's love life but he had to interrupt it!

After that, we watched the movie in silence, and no one dared to speak. Monique, Olivia, and Viola were fighting in the bathroom when my mind clicked.

I forgot about the spider!
