People wouldn't stop gossiping about me and Jax going on a date. The video was long forgotten, and I was happy about it. I still haven't gotten my hands on the one who posted it.

On Thursday in Home Ec. class, I observed everyone suspiciously and looked for any clue to know who might have posted it, but nothing.

Sighing, I peeked at Noah, who sat in the same place as last time, doing nothing. Today we had to make two fresh salads and present them creatively. I already cut the vegetables myself and it was time to do the presentation.

Casting one last nasty glance at Noah, I went towards the crockery section. Everyone was still busy cutting their ingredients. I searched for the best dish to present my salads and found one on the top shelf. I tried to reach it but failed, even though I was wearing heels I couldn't reach it.

Great!

I tried again but halted when out of the blue a hand came from behind and grabbed the dish. I whirled on my heels to scold the person who was trying to steal my dish but paused when I saw it was Noah.

"Here." He extended the dish towards me and I scoffed, shoving it back in his hands.

"I don't need your help."

"Don't be stubborn, just take it," Noah pushed it back into my hands.

"Oh, now you want to be the hero and save the world." His brows knitted in confusion. "I did everything myself, I can do this too." I flatly said and gave him the dish back.

"You didn't ask for any help, Lexi." He argued.

"I didn't ask you right now either." I retorted.

"I'm helping now, aren't I?"

"I don't need your help to ruin everything like before." We continued to push the dish back and forth between us.

"You're blaming me for what happened?" He halted and pressed his lips into a tight line.

"Yes. It was because of you." I snapped.

"But I did nothing."

"Exactly!" I exclaimed. "You just sat there doing nothing and because of you I got angry and did that."

"Whatever." He scoffed, taking the dish back. I grasped it from the other side and pulled it towards me.

"What do you mean, whatever? You aren't even sorry for that." I narrowed my eyes.

"I didn't do it on purpose, so why would I apologize." He yanked the dish back with force. I jerked forward but kept my grip on it.

"If you wouldn't have been sitting in the corner like someone took away your toy. Nothing would have happened," I clasped the dish with both hands and tugged it back. But he seized it tightly not even budging from his place.

"You shouldn't have lied to me." He snapped.

I gasped. "I never lied to you!"

"Yes, you did. You said you and Jax weren't dating."

"Because we weren't dating!" I gritted and continued yanking the dish with all my power.

"See you're lying again." He fumed.

"I never lied to you." I bored my eyes into his green one.

His eyes darted between mine then he turned his head the other way. "Whatever." He muttered and let go of the dish unconsciously.

Abruptly, I jolted back because of the force I was pulling it with and my feet stumbled. My back hit the shelf and I squeezed my eyes shut when the shelf fell from one side and all the dishes one by one crashed on the floor.

The entire room went silent as the deafening sound of the crockery shattering echoed. I peeked through my one eye at the mess we made.

Holy mother-

"Miss Wolf and Mr. Stone!" Miss Maddox rushed towards us and gasped when she saw the broken pieces.

I glimpsed at Noah, who stood frozen on his spot as he gawked at the shards in disbelief.

"Miss Maddox. Hear me out-" I tried to explain to her, but she cut me off with her glare.

"Detention!" She scowled at Noah and me. "For both of you!"

Detention?

No way am I getting detention on my record!

"Miss Mad-" She held her finger, growling at me. I gulped and slumped my shoulders in defeat. "Clean this mess now." She hissed, darting her eyes between us then left.

My eyes went to Noah and saw him already watching me with guilt written all over his face.

"Lexi-" I held my hand and stopped him.

I didn't have any stamina left to deal with him.

Sitting on my stool, I drummed my fingers on the counter as I waited for the bell to ring. I gazed behind me and watched Noah clean the mess.

It was his fault, he should clean it alone.

I haven't talked to him because I was raging and didn't want to say anything improper to him. I glimpsed at Emily who was cleaning her counter with her partner, Darren. She looked up at me in sympathy and mouthed.

Sorry.

I waved my hand in dismissal and looked at the clock again. As soon as the bell rang, I grabbed my stuff and went toward Miss Mad. I had to convince her somehow to not give me detention.

"Miss Maddox, can I have a word?" I asked in a honeyed voice.

"No, Miss Wolf." She sternly replied.

"I'll pay for everything we broke, but please don't give me detention." I pleaded.

"Oh, you will pay for it, Miss Wolf." She smirked. "As for punishment, you will get detention too. So you won't do it in the future again."

"Miss Maddox." I tried to negotiate. "How about I buy you a dress of an amazing expensive brand and you can wear it for a date with some handsome guy." She raised her eyebrows at me but I continued. "And when the date will end, he will take you to his home and peel that stunning dress off your body-"

"Miss Wolf." She cut my ranting.

"Yes, Miss Mad-dox." I blinked at her innocently.

"You are still getting detention, and I don't have people lining behind me to ask me on a date like you." Her eyes flickered behind me to someone but I didn't pay attention to it.

"Please, Miss Maddox, I'll do anything. But don't give me detention. It'll ruin my record!" I begged.

"Anything?" She pointed making me gulp.

"Yes."

"How about you clean the mess everyone makes for a few classes?" She sweetly offered.

"But they clean it themselves." I frowned.

"Now they won't because I'll tell them not to."

"You can't do that to me." I looked at her, horrified.

I hate cleaning, and now she wants me to clean everyone's mess!

"I can do anything, Miss Wolf. This is my class means..." She leaned towards me and grinned. "I'm the Queen here."

"For how long do I have to do this?" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"As long as I want." I opened my mouth to protest, but she cut me off. "It's up to you Miss Wolf. Either it's a written detention or this."

"Fine." I huffed and extended my hand. "We have a deal." She took it firmly and shook it.

"As for you, Mr Stone." She glanced behind me and I followed her gaze to see Noah still standing in the middle of the empty class. "This is for you too."

He nodded his head but kept his eyes on me. I turned towards Miss Mad and plastered a tight smile on my face. "Thank you for having mercy on me."

"You're welcome." She smiled and I held the urge to roll my eye. "See you both next week."

I nodded my head and walked out of the class without looking at Noah.

"Lexi, wait!" He called, but I ignored him and sauntered towards my locker. "Lexi..." He clasped my arm and turned me towards him. "Listen..."

"What?!" I snapped at him not paying attention to the tingling in my arm at his touch.

He let go of my arm and tightly gripped his bag strap on his shoulder. "I ah-"

"No, Noah." I cut him off and stepped closer to him. "You don't get to say anything." Because of the stupid height difference, I had to look up but I didn't get intimate with his height. "You are ruining everything for me." I poked his chest. "So stay away."

"Lexi, I'm-"

"You know what." I cut him off again. "I was thrilled when you talked to me that day after all those years." He quietly stared at me with his green eyes I love so much. "I was esthetic and thought that maybe I got my friend back. But things didn't turn out that way because you..." I gave him a once-over. "Have changed a lot. You're not the Noah I knew anymore."

He blinked his eyes at me and I turned around to walk away but halted when he said.

"You have also changed." He said in a monotone and I angled my neck to look at him. "You are not the Lexi I knew either."

"Guess we all have changed," I crossed my arms around my chest.

"But not for the better." He muttered and turned around.

Tongue-tied, I watched him leave until he disappeared around the corner. I felt some kind of twitch in my heart and frowned.

WTF.

Why am I feeling bad?!
