Dear sweetheart,
if I were a book,
not a single page would be free of you.
Your name would ripple through every line,
like the tide gently kissing the shore.

would brighten the corners of every chapter.

even if I know you’re written in someone else’s.
I’ve built castles of sand with my dreams of us,
but even castles fall to the tide.
