But never really did.
Sorry for being too tired, too distracted,
When you needed me most.
Sorry for the coldness I gave you,
When all you wanted was warmth.
I never realized what I was doing-
Until it was too late.

I'm sorry for the way I hurt you,
For the pain that I didn't even see.
Sorry for all the times I was too selfish,
Too wrapped up in my own world to hear your cries.
Sorry for taking you for granted,
And for all the hurt I caused you without thinking.
I can't change it now,
But I'm so sorry.

I'm sorry for all the things I didn't say,
For the love I failed to show.
Sorry for the way I pulled away,
When you needed me to stay close.
Sorry for leaving you in that place,
Where I wasn't there to help.
