Chapter 1
I was born as a Huldra in the forest. A Huldra is a female seductive forest creature. We have a lot of power on of the is spreading and curing disease. I had long blonde hair and a long cows tail. The only way to tell us apart from normal humans is our back is like the truck of a tree and we have animal like characteristics. Usually a long fox or a long cows tail. But I had some facial features, ears, and legs like a deer. I spent my whole life alone all I wanted was a companion. I was still very young I was only seven. I don't even know if I had parents. I was out getting a drink at a stream when I heard a woman. I peeked out to see a woman with her father feeding some deer. I was fascinated but I knew not to get to close. When I stepped back right on a trap letting out a loud grunting noise that sounded like a deer. I fell back. When it tightened around my ankle digging into my skin.
"Hello." I heard someone yell. I just kicked and struggle.
"Oh my god it's a kid dad help it looks bad." The woman said, but I wasn't about to let anyone get close to me.
"Sweetie come on we're just trying to help." She said, holding me down. While he freed my leg. They took me to their house. When the wife walked in.
"That child is filthy. Who is she?" She asked.
"Don't know found her in a fox trap she wouldn't speak." She replied, getting some pictures. Before she dragged me into the bathroom. I freaked out as she got me into the tub. She scrubbed me down wiping off all the dirt when she found my tail. She pulled it making me yell.
"What is this attached to?" She asked. I pointed at my chest.
"It's attached to you?" She asked, I nodded.
"I waaas born wiith it." I whispered.
"So you do know how to talk. How old are you where are your parents?" She asked.
"Seven and I don't have any." I blurted.
"Your seven and your parents just ditched you how irresponsible." She blurted.
"No that's not what I said. I don't have any. I never knew them." I said, when she noticed my back.
"What the?" She said rubbing my back.
"Hey stop that it's uncomfortable." I squirmed. When she noticed my ears.
"Your not human are you?" She asked. I shook my head.
"I'm a Huldra." I whispered. After that she really didn't say much but she took me to a room to dry me off when she realized how tall I was. All Huldra and huldrekall are beautiful and tall like trees. A huldrekall is a male version but they don't normally meet because we come from different territories. Each mythical creature stays strictly in its own territory to avoid conflict.
"Guess are you sure your seven your pretty tall your already almost as tall as me and I stopped growing years ago." She exclaimed.
"All my kind are all tall. I'm not even done growing." I replied.
"I really need to do some research. Now what's your name cutie." She said, as she dressed me. I've never worn clothes before it was weird.
"I don't have one." I replied.
"Now that wouldn't do so how about I give you one. I got it how about Fawn since you remind me of a sweet baby deer and since you don't have parents how about I adopt you? Since I can't have children. I've always wanted a daughter to love." She asked. My eyes teared up as I nodded eagerly. She brushed my hair singing to me. I ended up singing with her. Huldra used to lure men in with their beautiful singing voice. Which gave us a bad reputation in the older days we used to kid nap men and steal babies while they were sleeping and replace them with our own. Then again back in the day all we were used for was mating and reproducing. But times long since passed since then. I wanted to change all that.
"You have such a beautiful voice baby girl." She said, admiring my singing.
"Thanks moma so do you I only have a beautiful voice because of what I am which isn't very impressive. But you have one naturally now that's impressive." I chuckled, she hugged me kissing my head.
"Man your so beautiful and sweet." She whispered digging her nose into my hair.
"Your natural scents amazing though smell just like the forest it's amazing." She muttered.
"But that's normal mommy." I smiled I loved being able to call someone mom.
"Oh really well not to us humans our natural scent normally stinks." She replied, tickling me. Then she laid with me in bed reading a book till I fell asleep.
"Baby baby wake up its morning time to get up." She said, I opened my eyes to see her smiling brightly practically laying on me.
"What is it momma." When she held up a certificate.
"I have a close friend down at the office I told him your story except the part that your not human and he let me officially adopted you. So we're officially a family for real." She exclaimed, I jumped up.
"Your not pulling my leg right really momma your really my new mommy?" I asked she nodded hugging me.
"You got it champ." She said, we squealed jumping up and down. Then we got dressed, she brushed my hair, and ran down stairs.
"Hey mom dad guess what." She yelled.
"What pumpkin?" They asked.
"Were officially a family. I adopted Fawn." She blurted showing them the certificate. They looked at her in disbelief.
"You adopted her sweetie you just met her yesterday." Her mother muttered.
"Ya but that's all it took to know I wanted to raise her as my own." She replied. They all looked at me.
"Well guess your part of the family now call me grandpa or grandfather. Whatever you prefer. You know she actually quite gorgeous once you cleaned her up." He said, picking me up noticing my tail.
"What's this." He said, grabbing my tail making me let out a grunt.
"Dad don't pull that you'll hurt her all her power comes from her tail like a kitsune." She said, grabbing it.
"Sorry pumpkin did that hurt?" She asked, when he noticed my ears.
"She's not human is she?" He asked, she shook her head.
"She's a Huldra I did research on them last night their a type of seductive forest creature dwelling creature. Their known for curing, spreading disease, being tricksters, and to be normally quiet dangerous but she's nothing like that. She sweet and harmless. Its unfair. So I'm going to change that I'm going to raise her into a gentle loving forest creature." She replied.
"You know that's a big responsibly your going to need a lot of help." Her mother replied.
"Wait you beleive me I was for sure you would call me crazy?" She asked, they laughed.
"What you believe she's the first none human we ran into. Your father's a doctor. He's ran into several that had gotten mixed up with humans. It happens more often than you think. Your father's the only one that caught on because his father was a successful scientist who luckily knew about their existence. He the one who told us to keep it a secret from the public. He only found out because he uncovered the secret agency that's protecting them from being exposed." She replied with a chuckle.
"Really then how come you never told me?" She asked.
"Because grandpa asked us not to unless we had good reason to." Her mother exclaimed, she nodded.
"Now we have to get her trained on how to be a human." Her father said.
