Samantha starts to look for a job and because she's just a fresh graduate, no experience and no eligibility, it is really hard for her to have a job.
Many told her that she need to attend a review school in order to pass the board exam but she doesn't really have the money to pay. It is really necessary for her to look for a job but it is also hard. Samantha don't have any choice but to start earning or else her dreams will come in vain.
She applied as an encoder temporarily in a public notary office privately owned by a friend of Prosecutor Vasquez. Samantha worked in the morning and did her self-review in the evening, it is hard but she's persistent. Lt. Holmes let her borrow some review materials and her captain give her some tips to pass the board.
She's doing well for the past six months and now the board exam is fast approaching. She filed a leave for one whole week and focus her review. Next week will be the battle and she need to be super ready. Late night sleeps and sweats accompany her all the time. Dianne study with their classmates in a review school every day and study with her every night. Dianne let her borrow her notes and taught her some lessons she learned in her review school.
The day before their board exam, their Dean called all of them. We must have a 100% rating this year to maintain the good standing and reputation of our school, I know some of you did not go to review school because of financial difficulties. Please remain, I need to talk with you one by one.
Only five of them remain and Samantha's name was called later on. Her dean look at her without smiling that makes Samantha a little nervous. "Ms. Gacha, I have a source that you've been working while studying. Do you think you can pass the exam?", the dean asked.
Samantha almost sob but it is only normal for a dean to ask question like this. She smiled and said "It is true that I am working but there wasn't a night that I did not study ma'am. I always dream myself as a licensed criminologist and that motivates me. I did not attend a review school but I will do my best to pass the board exam." Samantha's dean know how determined she is. Her dean smiled at her and said "I always see you as my bravest student Sam. You always cried every time I talk to you before but now you just smiled at me and answered me calmly. I can see you that you are even stronger now. Good luck Sam, I'm sure that you have a bright future ahead." Samantha's eyes almost got teary but she just smile again.
She got home and smelled fragrance of the fried eggplant, she's sure-Dianne is cooking. She go to the kitchen and said loudly "I am hungry!". Dianne just laugh at her.
"Sit down, I'll be preparing the food. How are you?", Dianne asked.
"I am fine. Why did you ask?", Samantha asked back.
"Our dean talk with you.", she said.
"Yes, what's new with that?", Samantha answered ignoring Dianne's reaction.
"What did you talk about?", Dianne asked again.
"Nothing.", Samantha answered shortly.
"Sam!", Dianne almost shouted in irritation.
"What?!", Samantha is determined to irritate her bestfriend.
"Did you cry?", now Dianne irritation fades and was substituted by concern.
"Why should I? My goodness Dianne, you should eat too. I think you're hungry. Did you take your medicine?", Samantha teased Dianne.
"Of course I'm hungry. Anyway, I don't need medicine.", Dianne said ignoring how Samantha teased her.
"I thought you need one, your mental health is not well.", Samantha said in a low voice that almost sound like a whisper but enough for Dianne to hear.
"Stop that, I can hear you. Anyway, I am not going to sleep here tonight.", Dianne said as she eat.
"Why? Tomorrow is the board exam. We should study together, right?", Samantha is serious now.
"Our review center wants us to sleep in the hotel near the school the exam will be held and we also need to study tonight. The instructors said that they have an important announcement too.", Dianne explained.
"But I need you to wake me up tomorrow. What should I do?", Samantha said using her sweet voice.
"Stop that Sam, you're irritating me.", Dianne said without looking Sam.
"I'm just kidding!", Samantha said while laughing.
"It's okay Di, just stay safe.", Samantha added.
Dianne smiled and said, "You are the most understanding bestfriend I have."
"Stop that, you're irritating me.
And they both laugh.
SAMANTHA'S P.O.V.
When Dianne told me that she won't sleep here tonight, I expect it already. Most of the review center do that and I do understand.
Tonight is my last preparation and I need to do it alone. All I can rely is my phone, my notes, my books and my brain. I know Di wants to be with me but she also need their final review.
I prayed for wisdom and wide understanding first before I opened my notes. I study until 12am only then I go to sleep because I should wake up early tomorrow.
The next day I wake up by the ring of my phone and see that it is Dianne who called me. I answered my phone and...
"My goodness Sammy! Get up, may I just remind you that today is our exam.", she said in a hurry tone.
"Chill, I know I know.", I said to calm her down.
"Okay okay, bye I need to prepare also. I'll hang up now.", she said.
"Okay bye, see you later.", I said then I take a bath.
"This is it! Fighting Sam!"
I prepared all my papers last night so all I need to do is prepare myself and go.
