After two weeks

These two weeks were very difficult for Manik. He was trying his best to maintain distance with Nandini. He started coming home late at night and started leaving early in the morning. His attraction toward Nandini was increasing with each passing day. He tried to keep himself busy in work but still he couldn't take her out from his head. His heart always wanted to see her in front of his eyes but his mind used to stop him. He didn't want to think about it but still he couldn't stop himself from thinking that what if she would be single. He was feeling like she was controlling his heart and mind. He never left so weak and helpless before. But this attraction was making him weak and feel helpless.

Even he started ignoring Shivansh because whatever was going in his mind  after that he was not able to meet his eyes with him. He was trying his best to end this here. He was scared about the thought that what if his attraction toward Nandini would change into something more stronger than just attraction. That's why he wanted this to get end here only. But nothing was left in his control. It was getting difficult for him to control the things. He was not the same person what he was becoming after meeting Nandini. He used to get angry easily. He was angry from himself. He used to shout and scold himself in alone for thinking about Nandini. He started smoking and drinking a lot these days. Nandini's attraction was becoming dangerous for him and killing him from inside.

"What happened to you Manik ? You are not picking up anybody's calls."Mukti stormed into Manik's Cabin , shouting on him. Manik moved his eyes from the laptop to her.
"You know Shivansh called me and he was so upset and angry with you. He told me that daily you are coming late at night. Even You didn't go home last night." Mukti was shouting on him angrily and he was listening her silently, sitting on chair and his hands were kept on table.

"Manik.. Is everything fine ? If something is bothering you , you can share with us. We are there for you." Mukti walked toward him and stood beside him. She composed herself and said concernedly, putting her hand on his shoulder. Manik closed his eyes disappointedly because he couldn't share this thing with anybody.

"Mukti. It's just that I have lot of work that's why I remain  busy. It doesn't mean that I am ignoring you guys intentionally. You all are my friends, my family. Why would I ignore you guys ?" Manik took a deep breath and then said looking at Mukti who was looking at him , having concerns in her eyes for him.

"Really there is nothing serious?" Mukti asked to confirm and Manik nodded his head in yes. Next second , he got up from chair and hugged her. He wanted someone to hold him very badly that's why without thinking anything, he just hugged her. Few tears rolled down from his eyes and  he wiped them off with his hand immensely. Mukti wrapped her hands around him confusingly. She was sensing that something was really wrong with him.

"Manik , You need to give time to yourself too." They broke the hug after a minute. Mukti said in concerned tone , looking at him. He just nodded his head slightly in response.
"Go home and talk to  Shivansh." Mukti said before walking out of Cabin. Manik was standing there , having sadness on his face. The saddest thing was that he was drifting apart from his friends because of the feelings which were developing inside him for Nandini.

Manik reached home to talk with Shivansh. Mukti's words made him realise that he was doing wrong with his friends . Ignoring them was not right. What was their fault? He was just about to pass by Shivansh's room but he stopped on the door , listening his words.

"Nandini , seriously.. I am feeling like there is something wrong with Manik. He never did like this to me before. He was not like this before. He always used to pick up my calls , no matter how much busy he was. I am worried for him." Shivansh said in sad tone , looking at Nandini who was listening to him patiently , standing in front of him. Manik felt more guilty after listening his words. He had never wished this to be happened.

"Shivansh.. you are over thinking. He must be busy in work. If you really think that.. that he is hiding something from you. Then talk to him. He is your friend, he will surely share with you. Don't worry.. , everything will be fine." Nandini said holding his hand with her both hands. Shivansh was just looking down sadly. Nandini hugged him to make him feel better. He hugged her tightly, encircling his arms around her. Manik walked from there sadly. , seeing this.

"Thank you so much Nandini. You always take away my all my tension and stress with in a second like a magic. I always feel blessed to have a person like you in my life." Shivansh said and kissed her forehead , cupping her face after breaking the hug. Nandini smiled in response.

"Shivansh.. you don't need say thank to me. I am your wife and it's my duty to keep my husband stress and tension free. Hope you understand Mr. Oberoi." She said and he was grinning , looking at her.

"You know , giving kiss to husband.. this is also a wife's duty." He said naughtily , coming close to her face.

"Shivansh you are getting late for meeting. And being your wife , it is my duty to take care that my husband should  reach on time everywhere." She said stopping him from coming close to her , putting hand on his chest. Shivansh made a sad pout and she winked at him.
"Now go.."she said , pushing him and laughed. Shivansh pecked her cheeks and went.

On the other side , Manik walked inside his room , taking slow steps. He closed the door. He was angry and upset from himself. After seeing that how much he was hurting his friend , he was still getting jealous from Nandini and Shivansh closeness. When Nandini  hugged him , at that moment he felt a sharp pain in his heart. Deep inside he wanted her to hug him like this. He hate this feeling where he couldn't do anything. He was feeling helpless. He didn't want to hurt anybody but intentionally everyone were getting hurt because of him.

Manik was drinking one after another glass of scotch , sitting at bar counter  of a famous pub . He wanted to take Nandini out from his mind but she wasn't going out of his mind for even a single second. Whenever he closed his eyes , he used to see her smiling face. He wasn't understanding that what was happening to him. He was not understanding that why he was attracting like this toward her after knowing that she was Shivansh's wife. He took another glass of  scotch and stared at it , having pain , anger and guilt in his eyes. His eyes became red because of sleepless nights. He drank the scotch from the glass in a one go and put it back on the counter and the bartender filled it again. Getting drunk at night was becoming his  daily routine.

Manik walked inside the mansion at late night completely drunk. His legs were trembling. Everything was dark all around , all the lights were off. He started walking toward the direction of stairs with his trembling legs.But next moment something happened which made him froze on his place.

He felt somebody's arms wrapped around him. Somebody hugged him from behind and he knew very well that who was the person because as soon as  the body of that person came in contact with his body , it made his each and every cell of  body alive. He felt like that person touched his soul. He knew that it was her touch. He was sure that it was the touch of the girl who was making him crazy from far away from two weeks. She sets his body on fire with her touch and at the same time he felt like he found his real home in her arms.

Whenever he used to see Nandini and Shivansh hugging each other , his heart always wanted her to hug him. He was craving to feel her touch from two weeks. It was like he had stopped breathing and his heart had stopped beating and finally when she hugged him , his heart started beating and he got his breath back after a long two weeks. He never knew that this would really going to be happened one day and this would make him feel so good like heaven. With her hug , he came to know that she was the only girl , whom his heart used to find every time and everywhere he used to go. He came to know that she was the only missing piece of his life.

Few minutes ago

Nandini was working in kitchen and suddenly all the light went off . She got scared because of the darkness. She heard the sound of someone's footsteps from outside. She just ran outside. She saw Manik in the darkness and ran toward him , thinking that he would be Shivansh. She just hugged him tightly, wrapping her hands around him from behind and buried her face in his back. The peace and comfort which she was trying to find in the arms of Shivansh from the very first day of their marriage. That peace and comfort, she found in his arms but she wasn't aware that she found that peace not in his husband, she found that peace in his best friend's arms. Tears of happiness automatically fell down from her eyes because finally she found what she was craving for. She never felt so safe and secured in anybody's arms before. She felt like she found heaven on the earth. She was relieved and happy after finding her real home in her husband's arms.

They both were completely lost in each other , closing their eyes. The hug was giving the peace and comfort which they had never found in anybody's arms before. It was like they touched each other souls with the hug. Light came back , revealing the hug of two pure souls clearly. The light did nothing to them.

But the moment got spoiled when Manik phone started ringing which was kept in his jeans pocket. It brought them on the earth back. Manik immediately removed her hands when the reality hit his mind. Nandini flinched because of the shock when she came to know , the person who gave peace to his soul and heart , he was not her husband. He was somebody else. Her happiness flew away with in a second. Manik walked upstairs in front of her eyes without saying anything and without even looking at her.

This hug was the turning point of their life. Before this hug , Nandini was having no feeling for Manik in her heart. It was only a one sided attraction from Manik side. She never looked at Manik like this. He was just her husband's friend for her. But the hug shook his mind completely. She was having no clue that why she never found that peace in her husband's arms , the peace which she found in Manik's arms. She was shocked and stood there like a statue for few minutes. She was having no idea that her life was going to be changed from the hug.
