A girl wearing a white salwar and yellow dupatta came inside a dusty room. She was filled with floods of memories and billions of emotions. Her eyes were red due to a continuous stream of tears flowing down her eyes. She walked towards a wall slowly. The wall had her memories attached to it. 'If only you were here....' she thought. 
She didn't know how she will handle him. She didn't know how to react. Still she moved upwards.

Neil looked at the pendant and cried. He recalled whatever had happened all these years. His memories made him feel guilty and regretful. He then took the chip in his pocket. He was about to leave with Avni's belongings when he remembered something.

"Avni wrote about all the incidents but not about that one."

He opened her diary once again and searched for the page. He found one torn page in between which he had missed before. The page was fully torn. Only a single strip was left at the last on which it was written, "You humiliated me in front of everyone Neil. I won't forgive you."

FLASHBACK

Neil was sitting in his class in his college when his eyes fell on Avni who was speaking to someone. He could not see the other person. Avni's counselling sessions were going on that time. Avni's counselor had to go out for some time and so she asked Avni to go and meet her friend who worked in XYZ College. Neil misunderstood Avni and thought that she wanted to meet him again. His blood boiled. On the other hand, Avni had no idea of Neil being present over there. Neil comes out and goes towards Avni. By that time her doctor's friend had left. Avni turned to leave when she saw Neil coming angrily towards her. The time stopped for her. She wanted to leave that place but her legs did not obey her.

Neil started shouting at her. In no time the crowd gathered. Avni was humiliated by Neil in front of the whole campus. Her world shattered. She was deeply hurt and broken. Neil was pierced by her tears not once but many a times but still he continued. Not able to handle these insults Avni ran away. Absently she walked in the middle of the road........(to be continued)

FLASHBACK ENDS

Neil flips the tiny leftover piece of paper to know if there was something else that happened after that. Another line was written.

"It's because of you. I tried to attempt suicide. I didn't want to live anymore."

He sat on the chair with his head down tilted to one side. Tears were flowing down his eyes. "Suicide". He muttered. 

A lady's shadow came forward.

"Avni", he muttered. His tears had made his vision go blurred out.

"Avni nhi Tina." she corrected.

"Di!"

"Kyu? Surprised? After seeing me or after knowing the truth?"

Silence.

"You know what? It's useless to ask you. You hardly have anything to say! The truth. The only truth that you have been ignoring all these years has sealed your mouth and broken your heart. Have you ever heard yourself when you spoke to Avni? Have you ever heard your heart speak that 'No Avni can't do this. It's all lie.' No! "

" Tina di. "

" What Tina di? Did you ever had a second thought before what you did to Avni? I have seen her die every single day... Every single moment because of you. I am the eye witness of her pain." Tina ended up almost crying.

" I am so sorry. Its all because of me. "Neil cried covering his face with his hand and then running his fingers frustratingly through his hair.

" Sorry! Huh!" Tina laughed sarcastically."Sorry means nothing Neil. Specially for you. Do you even know how many times she tried to attempt suicide? Do you know that? And you say sorry. Sorry for what Neil? Leaving her half dead or having another affair with another girls or not trusting her or humiliating her in front of the whole campus or murdering her day by day? Tell me Neil. She had burnt this diary but I kept it because I was sure you will be back to know the truth."

" Di I know that my sorry is not enough. But I assure you that I will rectify my mistakes.... " he was cut by Tina.

" How will you rectify? Tell me. " she didn't try to soften her blow.

" Di. I want to meet Avni."

" How will you meet a dead person Neil? "

"What do you mean by 'dead person'? I met her just few days back!"

"You heard it right Neil. Avni is no more. She is a dead person now."

"No this can't be. You are joking right? My Avni can't leave me." he literally acted like a crazy man.

"Why can't she Neil? When you can leave her why can't she?"

Silence.

"it's better if you accept this truth. She is no more." saying this Tina left Neil alone with his thoughts.

This time his heart told him, "No Neil. She is alive. She will never leave you."
