Before the incident

An hour before-

The classes ended, Namjoon was searching for yoongi when he couldn't find him outside. They used to see each other atleast when they leave to go home. They don't walk together. But namjoon always made sure to keep his eye on yoongi.

Now the elder was missing, he was worried and started to search him.
He heard someone talking about yoongi and a guy named 'Hyun' that they are in bad terms. And that rich kid hired goons to take down yoongi.

His mind was filled with worries and couldn't think of anything but to find the other as soon as possible.

When namjoon found him, he was smart enough to call on local cops to get them caught. They noticed and ran away immediately.

"Yoongi! Are you okay?" Namjoon's eyes almost teared up when he saw yoongi's blood.

Present-

"..Nam.." Then he went unconscious totally.

Namjoon took him to nearby hospital which was just two buildings away. He quickly went to the doctor.

After sometime, he felt relieved when yoongi came conscious but he has to take rest for two days in the hospital. Cause his physical condition was weak after all that.

Their parents came to the hospital when they got informed. They looked so worried as soon as they saw namjoon with blood stains on his shirt.

But he told them what had the doctor said to him. And promised them, he'll look after yoongi as he send them back home.

Namjoon really did just as he said. He brought him food and wiped his sweats in the night when he was sleeping.

All this time, he was taking care of him while he was asleep. If it was morning, he would just tell that nurse whom was incharge to look after him.

The next day, when he brought some rice congee to feed him. Namjoon opened the door and went inside without noticing the other was awake.

But when he did, He just stood there in distance while yoongi was staring at him with mixed emotions.

Namjoon always felt awkward with most people, even tho he's so good at managing other things. But not with sweet interactions. He's introverted on that sometimes.

He just slowly walked to yoongi without looking at him. He put down the rice congee on table.

"Eat it... you'll feel better" he said still looking away and was about to leave.

But yoongi wasn't going to leave him that easily. He held his hand unknownly which made namjoon to focus right away on him.

"Where are you going?" He just bluntly asked him.

"Uh.. I.." younger doesn't know what to tell him. He went speechless at what next yoongi asked him.

"Aren't you going to feed me?" When they made eye contact, it suddenly felt all soft. Namjoon scratched his back neck but decided to sat in front of him. Then he let go of the other's hand.

He opened the rice congee box and scooped some in a spoon to feed him.
Yoongi ate it while still looking at him.

"You know that's creepy.." namjoon spoke up to break their awkwardness. He just came up with whatever to speak.

"What?"

"You're staring at me, for a long time"

"No, I was just thinking.."

"About?"

"Something"

"What is it?"

"Before I tell you, answer me first. Why did you save me?"

"Uh.. why not?"

"That's a good question. But still explain"

"Look hyung, even tho I know you don't like me or my mom. I can't just let you die there. I'm not that cruel. And yeah also you had favoured me before, so think of it as I paid back your favor" Namjoon wasn't even happy at how he just ended the sentence with.

Yoongi can understand the other even tho he just bluffed the answer. Deep down he can feel it. But He just nodded and opened his mouth to let him feed.

"So..  are we good?"

"..yeah I guess"

After few minutes, The air was getting thick and they couldn't just break it. Just as thoughts run on their minds.

Yoongi was the one to break it.
"I'm sorry" he decided to apologize after his thoughts concluded. It was a sincere apology, after a war in his brain.

"For what?" Namjoon came out of his thoughts quickly to listen him. Gave more attention, because not everyday he'll get to hear yoongi apologize. That never happened ever before.

"You know.. For whatever I did to you till now and how bad I treated you. I know it's not easy for you to forgive but I'm guilty" He really felt that for hating the other.

He never thought this day might come, but here he was. In a hospital bed, looking at him whose gaze were soft but also confused.

Who thought namjoon would save his life even after whatever bad things he did to him..?

When namjoon didn't said anything or even look at him, it became awkward again. Elder was almost in verge to cry.

Seems like the medications were kicking in after a long time for yoongi. His emotions were out and ended showing his true self.

He really teared up which got noticed by namjoon. It was breaking his heart. He doesn't want to see him cry.

"Why are you crying?.. don't cry. It's ok. I forgive you. And... I'm also sorry for fighting with you. It's not a biggie.. Don't cry please" Namjoon's concerned eyes and his hand reached out to wipe yoongi's tears softly.

"N-no, I deserve this. I hated you for something that's not even your fault. I shouldn't had done that. I'm sorry Joon.."

The first time, yoongi called him by his nickname. Namjoon slightly teared up. He doesn't want to make him cry more. So he quickly embraced him.

Elder was startled by the sudden physical action but that expression changed as he yelped in body pain.
His body still ached from the last incident. That made namjoon let go of him and scratched his neck.

"Oops ..sorry" Even tho it was kinda hilarious looking, but their eyes had tears with emotions filled.

"No more apologizes" They went quiet a bit then again namjoon wanted to talk.

"..How about we start over?"

"Uh.. ok"

"Hi, I'm Kim namjoon"
Yoongi giggled at his cute dimple smile.

"Hi, I'm Min yoongi" he returned it with a gummy smile. They know very well why they didn't change their surnames, it was some other fight.

"Can we be friends?"

"Sure- ah We are brothers, you fool " yoongi giggled at it. He lightly pushed his shoulder back. Namjoon chuckled at him.

"Ah yes.." the younger gulped down when yoongi reminded they are brothers. But not related biologically.

He's grateful that they are not. It's just that he didn't want their relationship as brothers. Not his brother for sure.
