The ink of my pen was as dark as night,
As it leaves its soul on the words I write.
Carrying my heart behind each letter,
Creating a story upon my paper.

Each perfect rhyme brings back the thoughts of you,
It rings the voice that took me out the blue.
Sending me to a flight up in the sky,
Where my love for you does not ever die.

Each verse my heart creates takes me away
Into yours that will never let me stray
To a place barren of your warm embrace,
For I'll always bask under your sun's rays.
