Lucy's POV:

"That's Lucy Hamilton. We met at the college some time ago and she's actually a good friend of mine.."

Mimi nodded and politely held her hand out for me to shake.

"Nice to meet you, Lucy!" She greeted me while we were shaking hands.

Soon after, she turned to John and asked

"Well, can we go in now or do you have to walk Lucy home first?"

I brought down my view ashamed and was already thinking about where to go when I heard John speaking.

"Well, Mimi... Lucy will stay here for a while. She can't go back home because she had a little fight with her boyfriend."

"She shouldn't run away simply because of a small fight. Besides, we don't have any free space. Now come in, John. The tea is about to get cold!"

Mimi walked towards the front door and gestured John to follow, what he finally did, but not without dragging me with him.

His voice sounded angry and he jammed the door after we three walked in.

"Lucy is gonna stay here! No matter what you think, I have space for her."

John headed upstairs to his room, still pulling me with him and leaving a perplexed aunt Mimi.

Arriving in his room, I let myself fall onto the bed, looking suspiciously at John.

"You didn't need to begin a fight with your aunt just for me, though."

"Oh come on, Lucy. You know that I love you and you know I'd do anything for you. Just stay here and feel at home." He winked at me and packed out his suitcase.

The rest of the afternoon we spent with sitting on his bed and listening to records.

When it eventually came to bed time I realised that I had nothing beside the clothes I was wearing. But John lent me one of his shirts and that problem was figured out.

~the next morning~

The sound of a bird singing in front of the window made me wake up. I looked around in the room and at first I didn't recognize where I was. A quiet snore came from beside me and I looked to my side, expecting to see Stu laying there. But I only found John. Immediately I remembered everything; the fight with Stu and that I had to spend the night at John's. Attempting not to wake John, I gently placed a small kiss on his forehead and caressed his cheek.

Maybe I wasn't careful enough.. Anyhow, John slowly opened his eyes and smiled up at me.

"Morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep?"

"Good morning, I slept wonderfully. Your bed is comfy, y'know?" I giggled a bit and kissed John before crawling out of the bed.

I got dressed when all of the sudden, Mimi's voice sounded to us: "Breakfast is ready!"

John and I quickly went downstairs and sat at the table.

I had no appetite, this morning so I stood up and asked John if they had a telephone. John explained me where it was and I headed to the phone.

With shaky fingers I picked out Stu's number and anxiously waited for him to pick up on the other side.

I was almost hanging up when I heard a sleepy mumbled "'Ello?"

"H-Hello, it's Lucy here. I..."

Stu interrupted me harshly

"Did I say you could talk to me?! Don't you have someone else to bother?"

Stuart hung up and all my hopes, which I had in the early morning, were completely gone now.
